One of the things I remembered about this crash, is Cope's initial interviews after the race and he said he hit oil, even though it was obviously a stuck throttle. This being 2002, it wasn't long after losing Adam Petty and Kenny Irwin at Loudon due to stuck throttles. Apparently he got the nudge nudge wink wink what to say at the time. Glad he made it out of it ok.

I was sitting in turn 1 and 2 on the highest row up and when he hit the wall I felt it in my seat. That was a helluva hit.
