  • i would die of laughter if they made a pumpkin scissors live action film, it be both horrible and funny XDD

  • So really Magus what exactly was wrong with Robotech? I seem to get the impression that dozens of people hate that show when in my opinion I love both Robotech and Macross. Even though Macross is by the better version I still don't hate Robotech? Why do people hate Robotech so much? It annoys the heck out of me seeing all these pissed, f'ing annoying purist fanboys on youtube videos literally jizzing off to how Carl Macek is the devil or something

  • kinnikuman would work as a live movie

its wrestling and it would work what you think

  • FOR THE LAST TIME WHO CARES IF THE MAIN CHARACTER IN THE AMERICAN VERSION IS WHITE, if you want to base it off the actual anime goku is neither japanese nor american in fact he's not even human. He is a Saiyan so as it stands he can be any race eccept black obviously...

  • not mexican

  • "Since the upcoming Ghost In The Shell live action movie will be a 3D one, I have hope. Less risk to see key elements of the story being changed. For example, less chance to see the famous name "Motoko Kusanagi" being changed for "Jessica Baker" or "Melissa Jonhson" since no real Hollywood actress will play the role. For the Robotech LAM, I could not care less since that piece odf shit is the bastard child of the original Macross (Super Dimension Fortress Macross)." less

  • Wow chill out dude you really hate Robotech don't you?

  • Could you imagine a Gundome movie lol that would cost a lot of money

  • I checked IMDB and there actually is going to be a live action Cowboy Bebop movie(I'm not joking). This is either going to give me an organism or it's going to make me kill myself

  • WHOA, WHOA, Transformers is NOT anime. By the way. If you mean it by Animated cartoon set into Live action. Yes. BUT Japanese anime into Live action. Transformers is NOT, Please dont lump Transformers into Anime.

  • uh actually many people was called Transformers a anime. 1, it was done in Japan even the toy was done in Japan. 2, it's a mecha like every other mecha anime.

  • uh, actually many peoples opinion mean NOTHING about fact. Yes the MOVIE was anime in style, but the TRUE show was american born and such. fOR christs sake, even the movie was english written AND DUBBED OVER in japanese. So Uh, your wrong. You can keep all your anime shit, feel free, BUT do NOT lump Transformers in it because they had ONE movie in anime style. And mecha does NOT mean anime, Bone up man seriously. I hardly even like anime and I know better than that

  • Yes, but the toy was originated from Japan from another mecha anime series. Transformers was the first time American entered mecha genre. It was America/Japanese co-production. When was the last time America created Gundam and not call it anime. What about Batman: Gotham Knight, by your logic, it's not anime because the character was made in USA, even the animation is anime. there's something wrong with that.

  • NO NOT WRONG. That movie WAS anime BASED. But it was NOT an anime. That PROVES my point, it does NOT prove yours. Gotham knight was fucking horrible, and MOSTLY was because of the anime crap to be very honest. Im a HUGE comic fan, and can care less about Anime really. AND I know that Transformers did NOT come from a japanese manga and turn into a show. SO your wrong bro. Let it go. I dont do the internet arguing shit, so agree if you want, and it you dont, I dont really give a fuck

  • so you're really a anime hater, huh? then what are you doing commenting on this anime-related stuff. So you hate Gotham Knight just because it's a anime. Why don't you hate every Batman series, the Batman anime idea was all Bruce Trimm, even he said it's a you can hate him also all you want. You might as well DC comic because they entered the anime/manga bandwagon. Marvel is going to do the same thing with Iron Man and Wolverine and have these 2 made into anime.

  • oh, by the way. Bruce Trimm said that Batman: Gotham Knight is confirmed as a anime, he said it himself in a interview. It even has Japanese voice on DVD/Blu-ray. About the Iron man and Wolverine upcoming anime, Marvel is going to make a X-men manga. Also, what would happen if Bandai and Hasbro team up and decided to make Transformers taking form of Gundam (Japan's favorite mecha). If you want to take your hate of anime, take it somewhere else. Not here

  • First of all. This is Magus' video. Im a sub and actually have been cool with him for some time. So before you go on a ''Oh he hates anime'' rant, Watch your mouth. I dont do the internet arguing shit, I debate, not childish insults.

2ND, I never said I hated anime, just that Im not really into it. Dont take that as hate. Learn the english language.

3rd. Gotham knight is ONE anime based Batman story, It didnt turn the character full on anime. People consider tf anime because of one movie

  • And I do NOT have to explain a DAMN thing about my opinion to you, ESPECIALLY about TF, You bring up ONE shitty Batman dvd and you make it seem like theres hundreds of Batman animes, so NO your point is NOT proven, its lame, unwarranted, not thoughtout and completely irrelevant.

I dont HATE anime, Me and the ACTUAL vid poster, Magus have discussed this many times. Its NOT anime that I hate. Its bitchy, whiny little brat anime fans like YOU that take this shit so serious and make it corny.

  • I'll take back what I said. Sometime your tone sound like you have a huge grudge against anime. from your profile, you love Comic book superheroes, so do I. But you do know that Iron Man and Wolverine will get the same anime treatment just like Batman did. So it looks like more superheroes are going anime-fied/manga-fied. Please do not become a anime hater just because of that, this is a era where anime get their reputation unlike the past where anime is all "small market".

  • Well, I respect your opinion and you respecting mine, so Thanks for making the debate more civil. Im ok with anime, but I just follow comics MUCH more. Thats what I grew up with, So anime doesnt really appeal to me as much as it does most.

I like the older stuff, when it was 'small market', It was unique and special then. But now its over produced, over commercial and over rated. BUT I respect it. I just dont watch or read it hardly. Im ALL comic fan 100%

  • I know what you mean. But sometime a "small market" into a popular commercial is a good thing. sometime it reach out to many people and it promote globalization. Just look at video game, it was a small market back in the 70's. But now look at today, video game is now widely respected and profitable. It's the same thing for anime, they're getting the respect they need now. whatever small market can become a popular thing, that's how it works.

  • I agree and disagree. Commercialism is good to an extent. It makes things more public, and it gives it more exposure. Which is good and bad.

The fanbase was once mostly adult, and mature. It was kind of a clubhouse type thing where you were special and different to watch anime.

NOW, in the states, its such a trend and its mostly really immature teens that make it into a fad and ruined the idea of anime over here. They took the japanese fashion and anime and made it saturday morning.

  • DBZ is probrably going to be horrible. But aNIMe/Manga COULD be great live action, it just hasnt happened the right way yet. Kinda like video game live action movies

  • i liked the death note films...

  • Oldboy is easily the best manga/anime movie ever made

  • thanks for the reason man, i was confused cause people these days get hyped on so much stuff

  • why do people go crazy over movies based on animes?

  • because they could either suck really bad, or be really great in most cases i've seen

  • dragonball live action movie is about to be tight what the hell are you talking about

  • Just to let everyone know, it's the "Dragonball" movie, NOT the "Dragonball Z" movie.

  • I think if the DBZ movie is actually going to be based on the Dragonball series it could work. Since the characters don't get all those energy beams or fly until very late in the series.

The only problem I'd see is bulma and her capsules full of Cars and Houses and stuff.

  • i'd like to see a gundam wing live action movie

  • I've got mixed thoughts about the DBZ live action films. I've just seen the trailer and it's left me confused.

Well, there's one good thing about it, Uwe Boll isn't involved (thank God).

  • What could work as a live action is Hellsing.

  • The death note movie.... was actually pretty good. Mind you I'm not a big fan of the serious, watched it every once in a while.

  • I liked the anime and disliked the live action movie.

  • i didn't like either of them, but i loved the manga

  • Fuck, also forgot to mention another EXCELLENT live action anime movie, Nana.

  • they forgot to mention battle royale.

  • battle royale was a novel first. the manga came out after the movie

  • The only anime/manga I wish to see live action is probably Hajime no Ippo. That will probably work best as live action because you can certainly do it. But conceivably, I could see History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi and Grappler Baki be live action as well, or maybe even Fighting Beauty Wulong.

  • i agree bout hajime no ippo.maybe a realistic version of rurouni kenshin d be nice(ok maybe it strange to see a jap. with red hair tho:S)

  • For those who didn't catch it, my list of good live action/manga: Initial D, Kurosagi, Liar Game, Nodame Cantabile, Gokusen (season 1), Hana Yori Dango, Boku wa imouto ni koi wo suru, GTO, Crying Freeman (which we also forgot to mention), One Pound Gospel, Somurie, Summer Snow, IWGP, Lady Snowblood, Sky High, Azumi, Princess Blade, Salary Man Kintaro, Hikari to Tomo Ni, City Hunter, the Pokemon skit with Norm MacDonald, Maison Ikkoku, You're Under Arrest, Hotman, Detective Conan

  • hey yall forgot about ghost in the shell

  • No they mentioned it.

  • No offense to anyone, but I think Kasshern was boring. It was not a very good movie at all. It had nice effects in some parts, but it wasn't a good movie.

  • Astroboy is a CGI film

and from the info i read, it's gonna rock

  • DN was a pretty faithful live action movie. The Dragonball movie will suck in my opinion.

  • I think Michael Bay should do the live action movie of Mobile Suit Gundam.

  • no, i think tomino should still do it

  • He did the live action before?

  • well there is g-saviour but tomino didn't direct it. what i meant by my old comment is that tomino should still do gundam if in the event they take it live action

  • But if he did the live action movie with The White Base crew and Amuro Ray, how would that go?

  • Ah man I wanted to be a part of this panel. The DBZ movie is gonna suck! And suck hard!

  • it's not dbz, it's dbcw or dbwb

  • AH man, I missed plenty of panels... When do you guy film these?

I'm not looking forward to the Akira L.A. movies... Even worse which you guys forgot was the Evanagelion L.A. film in the works.

  • And Prince of Tennis had a bad live action movie, just thought I'd put that out there..

  • i was going to mention it, but we had to keep it under 10 minutes

  • Mark Crilley is going to release a Miki Falls movie? Lol, I wish him the best. As live action anime films go, Death Note was pretty good IMO

  • I do recall of a giant robot live action movie back in the 80s or 90s. I thought it was pretty good, but I don't know the name of it though.

  • I think the Dragonball movie is gonna stink.
