  • I used to like this in the arcade, and the Coleco version looks almost perfect.

  • Agreed. Coleco really knew how to make those games look like the arcade. All the rich kids had one. 30 years later we have emulators. Yes!

  • BurgerTime is one of my all-time favorite games. I wish they had made different versions of it for all the consoles over the years. I know they finally have an updated version of BurgerTime, but I no longer own a TV.

  • This version of "BurgerTime" looks really nice for a game on the Colecovision, that's for sure! :D

  • The place I work at is named Burger Time 0_o.....

  • My dentist used to have this game Kind of Ironic in retrospect.

  • @StarFoxHeroSJ YES finally somebody who can use "Irony" in proper context. here friend. have 10 internetz

  • @RebornDARKstarII It is also the opposite or wrinkley.

  • @StarFoxHeroSJ you sir are awesome.

  • Underbelly sent me here :D

  • actually the cook is the bad guy. he chopped, sliced and burned all their friends to a crisp so they must kill him before he completes his tower of terror also known as the hamburger! lol

  • Never beat level 2... Uh Oh! I'm becoming a noob!

  • I am playing this on a NES emulator right now!

  • The remarkable thing is that 1980s console programmers generally had very little help from the Arcade manufacturers. They pretty much had to figure out how to port games from scratch and work against alot of tough constraints. Another sign of the sheer level of quality control on the core set of ColecoVision games.

  • Christopher walken. He was able to tell that one kid in that one movie that his dad left him a watch that was inside his ass with a straight face.

  • I loved this game!

  • I have a question, which system is better? colecovision? or intellevision?

  • @coolasshole23 Colecovision was higher resolution, and supported more sprites and colors. However, it also came out after the Intellivision. There was an Intellivision 2 that was designed to compete more closely with the CV.

  • Not to state the obvious... But this reviewer is awesome. He's hilarious!

  • Hello InecomCompany,

I like your work and great reviews. This was an era that the new generation doesn't know about. Keep that retro vibe coming!!!

Please subscribe to my page as well.

    One luv,

  • As you all know, you aren't actually killed by the food, but you are raped by it. Watch the animation of the chef while he so-called dies.

You can withstand 4 rapes until you eventually die. If you make more burgers and kill the molesting food you might earn enough credit to withstand more rapes.

  • Burgertime was one of my top 2 favorite games on the Intellivision.

  • This version looks really good! I've been playing the NES version a lot and that's fun, but really tough! I should give this one a try as well, since I actually own it too.

  • I'm eating burgers while watching this

  • I used to love this game, I wish they make a DLC of this game in HD for the PS3 that would rock !!! Great review *Cheers !!!

  • This game used to make me hungry. It's hard to avoid hunger when realizing you just made a burger with sausage in it.

  • So now, how do we use the "special sauce" :U

(you're awesome if you get the reference)

  • @Iceeman234 FRYIN' AND BUYIN' BABY! FRYIN' AND BUYIN'!

  • @Iceeman234 Two all beef patties, Special sauce, Lettuce, Cheese, Pickles, Onions on a Sesame seed bun.

  • I could really go for a burger right about now.

  • I remember the arcade version.....this was just as good. The only problem is that the painful Colecovision controller limited the amount of time you could play before icing your blister. The M-Network version for the Atari was not as good, but could be played for longer periods of time.

  • @TheLastBrainLeft omg I remember now that colecovison controller did cause many a blisters, LOL

  • YEAH! You totally kicked that eggs ass! The graphics look really nice for such an old game.

  • i thought i was the only one who watched man vs food

  • Mmmmm.....burgers.

  • The Colecovision will always be the best system, imo. It holds the great memories for me, and there is something about it, the graphics and gameplay, and especially the sounds. It all comes together and makes it so addicting. I've have many systems after this, and if I had to choose one, it's Colecovision. Sometimes while I'm playing online on my PS2 (I like Socom Combined Assault) I'll be daydreaming about my Colecovision. So I'll trun it off and play it instead.

  • Judging solely by YouTube videos, the burger components in the arcade version look a little more cartoonish. The Colecovision burger components have a nice realistic (by 1984 standards) texture to them. I dare say that the Colecovision version has superior graphics to the original.

  • Check out My Gaminghistorysource channel. Just did a let's compare on this game :) it was fun :D

  • I still say that Burger Time NES is the best port of this game.

  • "They weren't just shoving games onto the shelves that were crap!" (2:37)

Can you say "Atari"? I knew that you could!

  • OMG Its....its so life like.....I smell the Burgers......3d has nothing on this

  • @stelth90 This was stunning CGI in 1983. Compared to the Atari, this was nirvana. I still remember my 12th birthday, when I received a Colecovision console. I was in tween heaven.

  • The arcade version's graphics were a bit more defined, However for a home video game version this was very acceptable.

  • I want a t-shirt with your face Mark!

  • oh bring back memories!!

  • I have the NES version and I still can't beat the first level.

  • Colecovision was amazing! The only thing that screwed it up was the controls and the videogame crash of the 1980's

  • Esta es la mejor version que ha salido!

  • its not burger time......

    ITS PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME!!

  • Colecovision had the BEST version of Burgertime EVER!!!!

  • @hookhoax I seem to remember the NES version being very good ?! Double check that

  • In Burgertime, the food is YOU!

  • now i want a burger and LOL i actually did miss the like button NNNUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • What time is it?

    It's *spatula*BURGERTIME!

  • I never played this much but had friends who played the arcade version alot and this looks pretty damn close. I did get into playing it later on NES and that version wasn't a cool looking as this.

  • one of my all time fav's. I would love this to come to the Playstation 3 as a collector game.

  • LAST

  • cool old game i played it on intellivision

  • I am still in awe of the Colecovision and the graphics it had for its time. It's just a shame the crash didn't come too far after this was released way back in 1982.

Either way, I still loved playing this thing until the early 90s, thanks for the review and a trip down memory lane.

  • OMG this music...I'm crying. Nostalgia kicks in big time!

  • My wife found out that i was eaten by a giant pickle today

  • One of the best retro games ever..I bought this for my intellivision way over 20 yrs ago..

  • Some of the music in your reviews sounds like "Always" by Erasure, but it's not. I wonder what the imitation song is.

  • I had to tell some ones wife and kids that just last week lol

  • "...who would be the one with the unpleasant job of telling his wife and kids, 'your father was eaten by giant pickles'?!"

    .haha.

your reviews are always done so well and are just flat out entertaining! *kudos to you!!*

  • There were two versions of Burger Time for the Colecovision: One by Mattel and one by DataSoft. I don't remember which was the better of the two, but there were obvious differences.

  • The ColecoVision port is the best port of the arcade original, graphically and sound wise it's damn near identical. Sadly the Atari 2600 version is horrible, and graphical glitches everywhere on that port. The Intellivision port is even better than the Atari 2600 version.

ColecoVision; graphically, audibly, and over all hardware-wise, is an amazing system and was definately ahead of it's time!

  • my FAVORITE version was the intellivision version it was actully BETTER then colecovisions version

  • Dude that game looks AWESOME! I'd like to play it sometime :D

    Also, the ending was brutal.

  • I have to mute this game to play it. I like the little tune but it's way, way too short to be endlessly repeated like that. It's absolutely headache-inducing. If the theme music was longer, this game would be much higher-rated in my book. I love it except for that one flaw, but unfortunately I consider it a very major flaw.

  • The game is good for sure. Just all that bad flicker!

  • could you please review my favorite classic arcade gmae of all time MR DOs CASTLE

  • Majesco Is Re-Releaseing The NES Version On The Wii Along With Other Data East Arcade Games.

  • @Phoenix1251 Not realy the (data east arcade classics) for wii will have the arcade version of burgertime.

  • I always thought the NES version of Burgertime was in my opinion the best of them all. I also love the Intellivision version too. The other day I played the TI version and was very amused.

  • I hate pickles.

  • Hehe...my best friend holds the world record on this game on the arcade version...Bryan Wagner. Last time he set the record, I spend the night with him in a mall arcade in Reading, PA. while he beat his own record...

  • PetePepsi 4GOT the i

I can tell you from playing this game in the 1980's that the audio is identical. The Colecovision controllers are a bit clunky to work with but at least they went in eight directions unlike the Atari that only go's in four.

  • well as maybe the the coleco vision is a good system no game console will ever master then atari 2600 thats for true

  • @SUNHOTSTUDIOS6 Have you ever heard of the Colecovision expansion module that allows you to play Atari cartridges? Give me a shout on Xbox live. PetePeps is my screen name.

  • I love the music

  • What the Crap! This version looks better than my NES version. I hate the 2600 version. Both versions I have the cook gets stuck on the ladders, getting on and off and going sideways off of them. I always get killed cuz he gets stuck, very very aggravating.

  • I WANT A BURGER

  • I've been playing Burger Time on MAME, and damn, the colecovision version looks crazy close to the actual arcade version, as do most of the games on this system. Think I'm going in search of...for this system!

  • The Atari 2600 Burger Time was crap. It was almost unplayable. This one is very well made.

  • Why isn't this game up there with the biggies?!

  • DIOSSSS por 4:50min FUI NIÑO DENUEVO !! ME SENTI DE 14 AÑITOS ME LA PASABA HORAS Y HORAS JUGANDO ESTE VIDEO JUEGO SUPER BUENISIMO ME ENCANTABA !! DIOS BENDIGA YOUTUBE :)

  • wow nice music perfect for great 8bit psychedelic party

    lol

  • damn u burger time always making me hungry

  • "holy crap this is incredible" lol

  • In response to the comment from the final seconds of the review:

Actually, what I would want to know, if this were a real world chef, is whom would be interested in eating a burger put together by having the guy literally walking all over the food product, in the first place...last I knew, Chef Boot was never a proper kitchen tool.

  • Guess giants don't care if someone walks on their burgers. :)

  • [Replying To NameNotANumber]:You CAN play this game,if your computer can load AddictingGames.

  • mmm... burgers...

  • One measure of how nice the graphics were on this cart -- playing the game long enough will make you hungry.

  • I never did get to play BurgerTime but wow, what a fantastic looking game. This game was coded with LOVE.

  • I've watched this video like 3 times and I honestly want this game.

  • Awesome game with really fun mechanics. The ColecoVision port of BurgerTime ruled my ten-year-old world.

  • I recently brought a Colecovision, just to play this game. It was all Mark's review fault!! This version of Burgertime is fantastic. Now I am collecting more Colecovision games.

  • I know, some of the games on Colecovision are better than NES even, lolz.

  • @powe yeah, he made my interest in the vectrex go up...so i went and got one haha

  • @powe you know there's a version for nes

  • @powe same here man!

  • Wow. this version actually looks better than the arcade version. The Colecovision must have better hardware than what the arcade unit used.

  • I'm vegetarian, and yet I want to play this game. It looks fun..

I thought those were sausages, they're hot dogs?

  • my bro has an arcade machine in his home and it plays tank command a simple 3d game. very addictive

  • holy crap i'm hungry now

  • I think if you had to tell something like that they would think you were stoned or something

  • My favorite old school arcade game!

  • the intellivision version is MUCH smoother and better

  • These are 16,000 calorie burgers in the later levels. This one looks faithful to the actual arcade.

  • The Intellivision version is better.

  • Your version is better

  • You are right. I have this game for Intellivision and it is great.

  • Yet another classic, Data East also programmed a PC conversion and although it's only a CGA with PC speaker sound the gameplay is identical to the Colecovison's.

Pity the Coleco didn't last in the long run, seemed like a really cool system.

  • damn, pretty impressive sprites, and impressive animation.

  • Thank you so much for these.

  • I want a Big Mac now.....

  • another classic game room classic ending.

  • Awesome

  • I'm really impressed by the ColecoVision. I'm seriously considering getting one. Why not, I bought a Atari 7800 because of the CGR. I never realized how faithful they translated the old arcade games. Those graphics are mad good.

  • i love how he says tremendous to compliment it, its just weird

  • What's a Colecovision? Please answer that question! Meow!

  • a old game system like an atari

  • like he seid, but its a good old system.

  • Well it looks like it's playing a game, so I would guess it's a game system.

  • Probably the best classic system of that era. Atari had some ok titles, but Colecovision was our SNES of the time lol.

  • Ahh burger time, I love the game, but suck at it D:

I couldn't even make it to those pickles T_T

  • great review

  • Speaking of Colecovison, if you search on youtube "Pac Man Colecovision" you will find a video of a prototype of Pac Man for the Colecovision by AtariSoft.

That proto really shows what the Colecovision could do in terms of graphics and arcade fidelity.

    Shame it got canned.

  • Hey i have that pacman prototype for colecovision from Atarisoft. I have it for about a year now.

  • On cartridge or Rom?

  • I have it on cartridge which was from the 2002 video game expo in california. It has a colecovision label but when turned on it says Atarisoft.

  • Wow that must worth a lot of cash. Hold on to that thing man.

  • Im sorry the kitchens closed, a giant pickle ate the chef.

  • quite an improvement!

  • i dint even now the ColecoVision existed

  • I got Burgertime for NES from my mother and it rocks! I eventually got a 2600 and found Burgertime 2600 to be terrible!

  • those evil pickles

  • when i played this game first of the year 2000 i just was sitting there and i though that the chefs did hamburgers like this

  • Great Game ! I miss those times !

  • The Colecovision version of Burgertime is my second favorite version of the game, but I prefer the NES/Famicom version because of the faster walk speed of the character.

  • those old manuals are the best part of the reviews! 70s era sci fi was so awesome!

  • And this is why, although I've played hundreds of games since I've first played this, BURGERTIME is my number 1 favorite game of all time.

  • good review once again, though I always enjoy the parts where you would show the cartridge and/or instruction booklet.

  • Thank you! Unfortunately I don't have manuals for most of my really old games. Although I still try and show the cart. -CGRHD

  • Thanks for the burgertime review. I used to play this on the coleco. Coleco was the bomb!! My neighbor had it. I had the crummy 2600, with the crappy games :(

  • 2600 had alot of good ones. :D

  • I haven't played the arcade version of this game since probably 17 years ago, but this definitely resembles it, unlike that atari version.

  • now im hungry

  • lol, giant pickles.

  • ITS BURGERTIME!!!

  • review the NES version,it has an assload of enemies

  • WOOT GIANT HAMBUGERS FTW

    5/5

  • Looks like a very good arcade classic, shame that I've never heard of this game before this review. But I guess it's never too late to start playing a classic.

  • wow the colecovision version of burgertime looks awesome. i feel like going to ebay and buying a colecovision immediately.

  • A Colecovision was my first video game system (with the Atari 2600 converter, what a great combination!). Colecovision arcade games all looked very similar to the arcade versions. The gameplay was nearly exactly the same. All hail the Colecovision!

  • Looks like fun!

  • HAWT VEGGIE ON CHEF ACTION WITH. (I played this game the veggies tebag u when u die.)

  • im geting a cleckovision XD

  • I am so impressed by these ColecoVison graphics. It's such a shame the system didn't sell all that well.

  • that music is addictive

  • Inecomcompany don't you play mame?

  • damn that looks better than the nes

  • It's not lacking any meat

  • wow, this looks like a totally different game.

  • There is 2 BurgerTime games for the ColecoVison. This one is, in my opinion, the best of them... and fortunately, it's also the most common one.

  • is the intellivision version next? because that's the first game i ever played and i wanna see it again ^^

  • The intellivision version, Diner, is actually considered a "sequal" rather than a remake of the arcade game. It was one of my top five favorite games when I was a kid so I hope Mark checks it out as well.

  • I'm taking about the genuine Burger Time port for the intellivision.

I have never heard of Diner...shame on me...

Wasn't there a 16 bit Burger Time sequel on the Snes?

Anyway I hope Mark will get to those.

  • I had never actually heard of the Burger Time port for Intellivision.. this seems a bit worse than not having heard of Diner. If only there had been an Intellivision Power magazine for me to read to learn these things.

  • I just scrolled down the comments...Mark doen't seem to have the intellivision =(

  • looks so much better than the atari version.

  • GCR needs a TI 99. That version ruled.

  • Wow looks amazing, in some cases it looks better than the NES version

  • If you like this game, check out the NES version, I'd say it's the best home port.

  • This game is so much fun on the NES. That port is the only version I have played. Great review as always.

  • 16,000 calorie hamburger.

  • My dad was eaten by a giant pickle :( but who cares, great review, I USE MY MENTAL POWERS *you will do more sega genesis reviews*

  • The sounds in this version are much better then I remember. Really close to the Intellivision version. Very very awesome review man.
