  • very nice AND thank you!

  • I see you plugged the speaker into the back of your amp- How did you do that?

  • @jawdust3 My amp is one of those cheapo ones with a big hole in the back that you can see the speaker through. I just pulled off the crimped speaker wires and extended them with crocodile clips onto the external speaker. Hope that helps.

  • @ChrisLody Thanks for getting back to me. I'm not sure exactly what you mean though- Could you possibly send me a close up picture of it please? What do you think it would be like if you used two springs, one large(the slinky) and a smaller one you could fit inside the slinky? Would it make a lot of difference?

  • this just blew my mind. best channel on youtube. buying a noise hero

  • @wrbonfield Thanks very much! There aren't any Noise Hero's listed yet as i sold out in the run up to xmas, also the last posting date from the UK to USA was the 10th. They'll be available after xmas again though. Cheers.

  • Love it, very much humanized the mechanical sounds of the devices you ran through it. Also, didn't realise you had an SHS-10, jealous :)

  • @tekkentool Sounds pretty good for just a bunch of bits doesn't it? Well the SHS-10 has gone now, i sold it off on ebay to raise some funds :( On the plus side i have modded my half dead mK to take a guitar strap and the pss-780 has some nice bolt holes in the back i can add a strap to. If only i didn't look like an idiot playing it...

  • @ChrisLody Well...i'm sure you know about the curse of herbie hancock. It won't stop me from jerry rigging my MK into a keytar eventually :)

  • @tekkentool Heh heh, didn't know about the curse of herb, but i do now! I found a good method a while back where someone added proper bought guitar lug things to an mK, i did that but with spout bolts and washers i had knocking about. Well cheap!

  • @ChrisLody i dunno if i'd do it to mine, i don't think there's enough meat on each side of the MK to put some decent buttons or strap locks on them.

  • @ChrisLody Its something i never would have done when my mK was fully working, but i thought fuck it. I took the bottom off and bolted straight through with nice big washers and lock nuts on the inside so its pretty strong. But i'd never want to gig with one like that, not that i gig anywhere yet!

  • Sounds like experimental jazz from 1:57. LOL. Cool vid sir.

  • @kezadrone Heh heh, so it does! That could make for a very shambolic album. Thanks for the compliment.

  • @kezadrone hmmm sounds to me more like a fart XD

nevermind I actually havent heard experimental jazz so I wouldnt know XD

  • Wow! you've got quite a collection of keyboards there, I noticed you have a PS-55 on the shelf, I have that keyboard too its very good with all its sounds and rhythms.

Check out my videos of my keyboards collection I might have more keyboards that you also have, Thansk for sharing!

  • @KeyboardKrazy49 Yeah i really like the ps-55, it has a really warm sound for a home keyboard. I sure will check out your videos, should keep me busy! Cheers.

  • this is awesome!

  • @rhcp00001 Thanks. Had some fun playing around with it. Cheers.

  • Whoa! Bummer that THAT 'spring reverb' isn't a little more portable. :O Great sound from it though! I'll have to go and read Nicolas' article about it. :)

  • so that's what you're doing these days. needs some blinking leds somewhere!

  • @korgds10 Heh heh. Yeah, i could stick some on top to warn passing air craft : )

  • @korgds10 Messing around with a keytar is great fun strangely. I'm thinking of selling off the shs-10, but i have others keyboards i can sling round my neck.

  • It's just a spring reverberation unit. Like those uesd in the old analogue Synth days in the 70's The Maplin 4600 used one.

  • @ClercLe Yeah that's right, the arp 2600 had one too i believe. This sounds much more lofi but i can't afford the real deal so this'll do!

  • niice maaan ! ! !

ive always wanted to try the laser sound effect thing with a slinky

  • @hmrdude Its worth trying just for that, you can get some very loud and varied sounds out of it. I like to hang it over the stairwell next to my studio and just shake it around. Great fun.

  • @ChrisLody slinky + ds-1o live ;]

  • @hmrdude Damn, i can't believe i didn't try that before i packed it all away. I might save that idea for the diy plate reverb from the same article. I'm sure it'll sound good.

  • @ChrisLody forget the ds-10 live, how about live keytar?

  • WOW! That's creative ;-)

  • @squeakD Thanks, though i can't claim credit for the idea. It great fun to experiment with though.

  • wow who needs reverb when you have a slinky? Man way cool

  • @reg1167 Hey Reg, how you been? It sounds pretty good doesn't it, better than i thought it would. i think i might build the plate reverb from the same article, i'm wondering how a big sheet of glass would sound.

  • Oh I love that Slinky. I want to make love to that Slinky.

I want to bust my goo all over your slinky. Hot love

    for the stinky slinky.

    :)

  • @DuncanDonuts3 If you like this slinky, you should see its sister!

  • Saw this project listed in the newest Tape Op mag. Great stuff, I'll have to get around to building my own one of these days.

  • @pirahna1 Yeah, that's where Nic Collins wrote the article for. I'd like to pick up a copy of the magazine if this is the quality of its content, though i'm not sure where to buy it in the uk.

  • I here that slight feedback of the amp being fed into the spring again and again and again and...

  • @theau61 Yeah, i never thought of that. I had it up quite loud on my monitors so that would have been exciting the slinky, something else to experiment with!

  • That is way cool.

  • @haddieman Glad you like it, its great fun to play around with.
