@scorpioninpink Soon I’m going to upload a new video including the Olympic announcement of 2002, 2010 and 2018, unfortunately I haven’t found the video of Turin 2006, if anyone have the footage of Turin please let me know it
my predict it would be Barcelona 1992 Lillehammer 1994 Atlanta 1996 Nagano 1998 Sydney 2000 Salt Lake 2002 Athens 2004 Toronto 2006 Beijing 2008 Vancouver 2010 London 2012 Sochi 2014 Rio 2016 Pyeongchang 2018 Madrid 2020? Alaska 2022? Paris 2024? Sapporo 2026? Tokyo 2028?
I HOPE AN AFRICAN COUNTRY WILL WIN IT IN 2020 BUT THE PROBABY WOULDNT CAUSE THE IOC WILL NOT DO WHAT THEY DID FOR THE 2010 FIFA WORLD CUP BUT MAKE ONLY AFRICAN COUNTRIES BID FOR THE WORLD CUP
RIO 2016 WILL BE CARNIVAL BUT IT'S 5 YEARS AWAY BUT THE MORE RECENT OLYMPIC LONDON 2012 WILL BE A PARTY IN THE CLUB AND NOT VERY KEEN ON RUSSIANS I JUST THINK OF RUSSIANS AS RACIST SPEAKING OF PARTY THE LOUDEST SCREAMS I HEARD WHERE FROM SOCHI IN 3RD PLACE, LONDON IN 2ND PLACE AND RIO IN 1ST PLACE I CANT WAIT FOR THE LONDON AND RIO OLYMPICS
For 2020, I think it will be either Rome or Madrid. Madrid has been trying for a very long time, and the IOC has to pick them soon. Australia seems eager to bid again, and they did have (in my opinion) the best Olympics ever. Canada will probably not host the summer olympics again (They were in debt for like 30 years after 1976), but theyll be good Winter Hosts. And the USA has to get the olympics soon, so ya
@StreetPoet13 ohhh please shutup...it was the worse games, now the village is a ghost town the economy is terrible, wheres the legecy....its dead, athens was a MISTAKE
@Chingonshushu The worst games? I think u saw other games, like Beijing or something. Athens 2004 was amazing, for many reasons. Olympic Games went back home.
2020: Toronto (Although Tokyo and Madrid are strong contenders)
2024: Paris
2028: Amsterdam
An African city could end up hosting one of these Olympics but I would rather have these cities host the Olympics than a city that lacks class like Durban. It would be better if they waited and awarded the 2028 Olympics to Nairobi, Kenya if Africa really should host it.
if the U.S. decides to bid in the future, i think Hawaii should give it a shot. we haven't really shown the world Hawaii much, people just know that it's a beautiful island.
ersonally I think Munich should get the 2018 winter olympics. Although South Korea has an excellent bid I think Germany deserves it more. Germany hasn't hosted the winter olympics since 1936. And if you think about it Germany hasn't hosted any olympics of any kind as true reunified Germany. Sure Munich hosted the games in 1972 but that was overseen by a tragic event. Munich and Germany deserves to be seen in a new light in 2018, they have so much to offer to the world and will welcome the world
United States surely have all the sports facilities in every city they can bid for the Olympics. St. Louis, Los Angeles, Los Angeles (again), and then Atlanta. The 12-year interval is short for a country to host two Olympic Games. Definitely don't forget about Salt Lake City for winter. Yes, I do agree that the Olympics should jump across different continents, just like the World Cup. This will make the Olympics more of a global event. 2018 Olympics will be known by next year.
The past bids have been very competitive. I guess there are some cities who will get the bid pretty soon. Paris, France. How long can they wait another one when London gets their third time in 2012? Olympic host cities are usually expected to have good enough sports facilities for all the events. Usually it should be a sports active nation, but most of the time, funding is always the critical thing.
@Fmaack I love this theme and i have been hitting guesses host countries for 4x and i think both Doha(Qatar)or Dubai(UAE) r likely to win 2020/24, not forget that China can now host the winter 'cuz the show in'08! S.Africa will host '28,when the host country always carries gg has ample power to "pull votes" for a particular country(politics has much to do with choice)need see games London and Rio to see '20/24,don't think that Mexico 'll host up to something 'cuz Guadajara'11! is wait and see!
@aleksandrdoncev I've been an Olympic bids geek since I was a kid. I first started around 1995 when Quebec City bid for the Winter Olympics. I'm in Canada and routed for Quebec (they finished last). My second guess for 2026 would be Harbin, China.
I don't know about Doha or Dubai. Both are quite hot and they didn't want to host in September at the end of the summer sports season. Maybe they will change their minds. it's obvious that the IOC wants the Olympics to go everywhere. Next stop India?
@wolverine668 Canada is a solid winter sports nation. Will we ever be able to shake that off and get the summer Olympics where we compete against bids from pretty much every other nation. Canada would also have to compete against the US and Mexico. Mexico hasn't hosted since 1968. I think it's Mexico's turn.
@Fmaack You're right about that. Out of the 3 countries Mexico hasnt hosted for the longest time. US hosted 1996 and Canada hosted 1976. The last time Mexico hosted was in 1968 but Mexico isn't bidding, thats where the problem lies. I would love Guadalajara 2020 but it doesnt look like its gonna happen so Toronto should get it since its the only hope for a N American return after 24 years which is the longest a continents gone without hosting.
@wolverine668 I don't know. Does Toronto really need any more proof that they're the centre of the universe? We want to give them the Olympics now? Canada hosted a Winter Olympics in 2010. It was 12 years between Montreal 76 and Calgary 88. There is a chance for 2020 Toronto but I'd like to see a bunch of other countries come first. If it comes back to N America I'd prefer to see it in Mexico.
@Fmaack So I guess Montreal, Vancouver, and Calgary are the "center of the universe" for hosting an Olympic Games? It has nothing to do with being the "center of the universe", though fame and attention to the city comes along with it. Toronto is the sole North American bidder for 2020, Mexico isn't in. If Toronto lets this go by and Philadelphia wins 2024 then Toronto can say bye bye to the Olympics for the next 25 years.
@Fmaack: But South Africa backed out on their bid :( Its sad cause I wanted to compete in South Africa. Oh well, its either likely to be in Madrid or Rome.
@FutureolympianXC I'd like to see inroads continue to be made and see Istanbul be selected as the host for 2020. It's too bad South Africa isn't bidding but I really hope the Olympics go somewhere they haven't been before. Rome has hosted before and so has Barcelona.
I love it when the Olympics are hosted here in the USA. But I think we need a break and other countries should showcase/host for a while. I look forward to London and Rio. Can't wait to see those opening ceremonies!
Only bad thing is the time delays for viewing - but that's what recorders are for. :-)
And I agree Athens should have hosted the centennial Games.
@rattlesnakepictures6 I didn't, although it didn't stop them from building new stadiums like a new giants stadium in NJ for the Jets who should be going to LA, and keep the Giants in NJ, not where they should be in Queens.
@tottenhamhtospurs199 madrid will get the games someday, unsarally a city that wins one round of the IOC voting, as happened in 2016 I think, but doesn't get picked to host the olympics, eventurally does win in another election.
@KangaKucha idk. if you follow the ioc it seems unlikely. A key IOC member who led the 2016 evaluations, said a few weeks ago that africa is atleast 20years away from hosting a summer games.
@chicagoguy19 well south afica can do it, they hosted the world cup well, better than expected although with some minor incidents, but they were great hosts, and in 2020 the IOC siad they are looking at a thrid world place for the games, and afica seemed likly although south afica is hardly thrid world.
guess we will just have to wait and see, if not afica, somewhere in north america like the USA or Canada.
@chicagoguy19 well according to this ioc member,El Moutawakel said, "there is a huge amount of work to be done...I have read studies by some universities specializing in the Olympics who gave Africa between 2030 and 2040 to host the Games, i say 20 years they will be ready" 'World Cup is one sport in nine cities, with 64 matches played by 32 countries in one month. Olympics is 26 sports in one city played by 10,500 athletes in two weeks and watched by billions around the world.
You forgot Vancouver 2010, which was right around the corner a few months after your uploading of the video! For those interested, CBC's coverage of the host city announcement is located at v=IpSqv1jx-8M - change that in the URL above if you want to see that. Torch lighting and all sorts of other videos also exist now since this went up. =)
I'm pretty sure the states is not gonna get another one pretty soon. I'm happy that brazil got one tho and I don't think it's a pity either I think they deserve it. And Korea well it depends. But I'm Canadian and I'm definitly hoping for Toronto or Quebec to get one although I know it won't be soon.
@louisana3 Montreal already hosted in 1976 and from what I understand, it wasn't successful. The only key moments were Nadia Comaneci's perfect 10 and Bruce Jenner and that's it.
Brazil will host the best Olympic games ever in Rio 2016... Wonderful country, wonderful people, emergent and powerful economy... RIO 2016 - THE PASSION UNITES US!!!
I am from Rio and I was against the Olympic Games in Rio. But the idea that Rio has won the Olympic Games because South America has never hosted the Olympic Games doesn't seem very convincing. Moreover, choosing a city from the 1st World does not mean success. See Atlanta 1996, the worst Games of the Modern Times. Do you remember what happened in the Centenial Park?
@antoniosergiocunha yes i know, that bombing thing, that made a negative for atlanta... but as much as i know, Jacques Rogge, IOC President, wanted that 2016 will be in south america, and 2020 in africa.....
@MrMiguelE The President of the IOC does not vote. The fact that he wanted the Olympics to be in South America does not mean much. The President of FIFA, Joseph Blatter, also wanted the 2006 World Cup to be in South Africa. But South Africa was defeated by Germany. Only 4 years later, when only African countries could present bids for the 2010 World Cup, did South Africa win the right to host it.
@KangaKucha Whose fault was it? God's faul, perhaps. Bad arenas, with hole(s) in the ceiling, bombing in the Centenial Park. And it was not Atlanta's fault.
@KangaKucha I have never been to Atlanta, except to the airport to go from Orlando to Washington. I have nothing against the city of Atlanta. My complaints have to do with the organization of the 1996 Olympics.
@antoniosergiocunha they were organised well though, sydney 2000 even came to atlanta to learn what to do, and what not to do, so did vancouver from sdyney and atlanta, so Atlanta has been sucessful in 96 and for future games.
@SAMMYJS991 Did I say that?I said that there were serious problems with the organization of the 1996 Games:the explosion of a bomb in the Centenial Park during the Games, the rain falling in the volleyball arenna before Brazil x Poland because of a hole in the ceiling.Of course, the US have all conditions to host the Olympic Games. They did it successfully in 1984 in LA. But the Atlanta Games were a total disaster. I am not the only person to say so. Ignorance at its worst.

2024 Durban, South Africa
2026 Lake Tahoe/Reno, USA or Munich, Germany

Madrid to host 33rd olympics
tottenhamhtospurs199 1 year ago
@tottenhamhtospurs199 madrid will get the games someday, unsarally a city that wins one round of the IOC voting, as happened in 2016 I think, but doesn't get picked to host the olympics, eventurally does win in another election.

and the next games will be as follows, mark my words, you can write this down that you heard it here first.
2018: Pyeongchang South Korea
2020: Somewhere in Africa, likely South Africa like Durban or Cape Town.
KangaKucha 1 year ago
@KangaKucha idk. if you follow the ioc it seems unlikely. A key IOC member who led the 2016 evaluations, said a few weeks ago that africa is atleast 20years away from hosting a summer games.
chicagoguy19 1 year ago
@chicagoguy19 well south afica can do it, they hosted the world cup well, better than expected although with some minor incidents, but they were great hosts, and in 2020 the IOC siad they are looking at a thrid world place for the games, and afica seemed likly although south afica is hardly thrid world.
guess we will just have to wait and see, if not afica, somewhere in north america like the USA or Canada.
KangaKucha 1 year ago
@chicagoguy19 well according to this ioc member,El Moutawakel said, "there is a huge amount of work to be done...I have read studies by some universities specializing in the Olympics who gave Africa between 2030 and 2040 to host the Games, i say 20 years they will be ready" 'World Cup is one sport in nine cities, with 64 matches played by 32 countries in one month. Olympics is 26 sports in one city played by 10,500 athletes in two weeks and watched by billions around the world.
chicagoguy19 1 year ago
@chicagoguy19 not just in one city, it can be and has been shared with other ities before, Atlanta, Sdyney, Vancouver, etc all shared with anoher.
i;m otomistic afica is getting 2020, or somewhere in north america.

@MrMiguelE that be my option if korea goes nuts, i like both bids, dont like the french one.

ITS MUNICH VS. PYEONGCHANG
MrMiguelE 1 year ago
@MrMiguelE its nevertheless in the bid, and will be what defends your munich bid should it be betten you and SK.
if the bids bet SK in the frist round, should be interesting to see if they vote for france or germany.

imagine MANILA,PHILIPPINES to win a bid in the year 2024 just seeing that in the near future makes me want to cry!?
joesel19 1 year ago
its not gonna happen!!..
Philippines in not yet ready for that kind of event..
may be 2032 or 2036..
Manila needs a lot of improvement..
Olympics is not like a birthday party..there are many things to prepare..
with the traits of the present Filipinos..it won't be realized in 2024..
besides even when you bid costs a lot! use it for relocation of the urban poor to make Manila neat!
lorenz01661 1 year ago
@lorenz01661 i am a filipino, i agree to you 50%... MAKE THIS COUNTRY PRESENTABLE AND WHOLESOME FOR THE OLYMPICS
dont worry, the announcement will be in 2017, bidding in 2015....

@lorenz01661 I support Manila's or any philippine city... as long as we are prepared for such games.. MABUHAY TAYO, MABUHAY ANG PILIPINAS...

I'm pretty sure the states is not gonna get another one pretty soon. I'm happy that brazil got one tho and I don't think it's a pity either I think they deserve it. And Korea well it depends. But I'm Canadian and I'm definitly hoping for Toronto or Quebec to get one although I know it won't be soon.
louisana3 1 year ago
@louisana3 Montreal already hosted in 1976 and from what I understand, it wasn't successful. The only key moments were Nadia Comaneci's perfect 10 and Bruce Jenner and that's it.

yea, we get to spend ourselves into never-ending debt !!!!!
the present games are too big, too commercialized, too far removed from the original intent - a sports festival.
wiedep 1 year ago
I am from Rio and I was against the Olympic Games in Rio. But the idea that Rio has won the Olympic Games because South America has never hosted the Olympic Games doesn't seem very convincing. Moreover, choosing a city from the 1st World does not mean success. See Atlanta 1996, the worst Games of the Modern Times. Do you remember what happened in the Centenial Park?
antoniosergiocunha 1 year ago 6
yep, a mess...

@antoniosergiocunha What happened to the centenial park??
grudger62896 1 year ago
@antoniosergiocunha yes i know, that bombing thing, that made a negative for atlanta... but as much as i know, Jacques Rogge, IOC President, wanted that 2016 will be in south america, and 2020 in africa.....
MrMiguelE 1 year ago
@MrMiguelE The President of the IOC does not vote. The fact that he wanted the Olympics to be in South America does not mean much. The President of FIFA, Joseph Blatter, also wanted the 2006 World Cup to be in South Africa. But South Africa was defeated by Germany. Only 4 years later, when only African countries could present bids for the 2010 World Cup, did South Africa win the right to host it.
antoniosergiocunha 1 year ago
@antoniosergiocunha yes but some presidents' predictions may be so influential they'll be right
MrMiguelE 1 year ago
@antoniosergiocunha wasn't atlanta fault, dickhead! and Atlanta was great!
KangaKucha 1 year ago
@KangaKucha Whose fault was it? God's faul, perhaps. Bad arenas, with hole(s) in the ceiling, bombing in the Centenial Park. And it was not Atlanta's fault.
antoniosergiocunha 1 year ago
@antoniosergiocunha bad arenas? DUDE YOU EVER BEEN TO ATLANTA??? THEY ARE GREAT!!!
KangaKucha 1 year ago
@KangaKucha I have never been to Atlanta, except to the airport to go from Orlando to Washington. I have nothing against the city of Atlanta. My complaints have to do with the organization of the 1996 Olympics.
antoniosergiocunha 1 year ago
@antoniosergiocunha they were organised well though, sydney 2000 even came to atlanta to learn what to do, and what not to do, so did vancouver from sdyney and atlanta, so Atlanta has been sucessful in 96 and for future games.
KangaKucha 1 year ago
@KangaKucha Maybe they have gone to Atlanta lo learn what they should NOT do.
antoniosergiocunha 1 year ago
@antoniosergiocunha and what they should
KangaKucha 1 year ago
@antoniosergiocunha and I have seen rio record at hosting other sports events, and I;m convinced they are ready and will be a great olympics.

@antoniosergiocunha SO your saying America is not worthy of hosting the games???
ignorance at its best

antoniosergiocunha 1 year ago
@SAMMYJS991 Did I say that?I said that there were serious problems with the organization of the 1996 Games:the explosion of a bomb in the Centenial Park during the Games, the rain falling in the volleyball arenna before Brazil x Poland because of a hole in the ceiling.Of course, the US have all conditions to host the Olympic Games. They did it successfully in 1984 in LA. But the Atlanta Games were a total disaster. I am not the only person to say so. Ignorance at its worst.
