There are literally thousands of astronomers checking the sky independently, if a object the size of Jupiter was closing in, you would see perturbations in the other planets in our solar system. I live in Chile, almost in the south pole, which is where they say Planet X should be most visible (they said it would be visible to everyone by May 2009, and even here where they said it should be most visible it hasn't shown up yet in December 2009 lol) and I live in a high rise and am on the roof stargazing almost every night and have seen NOTHING.

I live in Chile, almost in the south pole, which is where they say Planet X should be most visible (they said it would be visible to everyone by May 2009, and even here where they said it should be most visible it hasn't shown up yet in December 2009 lol) and I live in a high rise and am on the roof stargazing almost every night and have seen NOTHING.

for the Mayan calendar ending at december 21 2012 i say it was because they're were killed before they could finish their calendar.

There was no end to the calendar. The Mayan calender is much like our clocks, once you hit 24:00(12:00- PM) you end back at 0:01. However it is accurate in a galactic view as per our cycles. (galactic winter/summer solstice and the end of the previous age.

define "real". there really is a brown dwarf star on a 3600 year cycle. i read about it in a science magazine when i was a kid (about two decades ago). the mayan calendar really does end at the date they say. but as far as the end of the world i doubt it. but think about this for a second... whether its a drunk diver, heart attack, or cancer; every second of the day is the end of the world for somebody, what difference does it really make if its all of us at once?
