I would clarify for everyone that qlikview has a ETL engine (script) that can do the data cleaning and create a data cloud very consistent. I work with qlikview since 1999, pos graduated course in BI , and more and more i belive that the AQL technology is revolutionizing the BI architecture. Normally the people don´t recognize the change in the exact moment that are occuring, but posteriorly, and we are living a revolution in the BI concepts.
This promotional video conveniently ignores the fact that OLAP cubes and data warehouses are built to improve data quality, maybe because Qlikview does not integrate well with cubes? Business decisions should be based on solid facts, but .Qlikview has no way of improving data qualityl. Also, Qlikview does not perform well once you start working with data sets containing 100s of GBs.Nice GUI though.
@rullangaar Maybe its me, but improving data quality is to project (garbage) source data through the data warehouse and present it to the business / users, if you want or need to improving data quality this had to be done on the source systems.
You dont want a system (DWH) or ETL process that has thousands of rules to 'fix' data, besides DWH being a analitical process / tool it also has a side effect to reflect the state of the source systems, garbage out normally means garbage in.
this crap does not even support dbf talk about crap
