God did not create animals to entertain or serve us. These animals are not much better off in zoos, either. Since we cannot release them back to the wild (which is where elephants really belong), I think the best place for the animals is a true sanctuary.

No one could treat an animal this way unless they enjoyed it! If an animal has to be brutalized to perform stupid tricks to entertain moronic retards, (meaning the people), that's reason enough for it to be a crime and to be outlawed by any civililzed and enlightened society. Animals used as living 'props' for the entertainment industry is a very sad reflection of how society views and interacts and ultimately disrespects and destroys animals. It is high time we abolished the use of animals in the circus, this is not a natural way for elephants to live, it is cruel and subjects them to a lifetime of boredom and abuse.

My God, what horrible music! I was sick of it in just a few seconds... the poor elephants and other animals, with their much keener sense of hearing, must endure it for hours night after night.... that ALONE is torture! Not to mention living in cramped cages, the beatings, etc.....

Ry4n: good for you! don't ever go! They are truly stupid and cruel, as lots of people discover every day. The sad thing is that they don't do their homework and read about them until it's too late and they've paid their money for a ticket, thus supporting this kind of cruelty and abuse.

Anyone with a brain should know that circuses with animals are inherently cruel, even if they haven't seen one for themselves.
