Hellmuth is a lovable gobshite. He's gonna bring up etiquette!?! That's about as appropriate as Martha Stewart bringing up DP. I'll always be a huge fan Hellmuth and Matusow.
havent watched seen the flop yet but the from the phil's comment "i think mike made a bad call" i assume he is going to lose the hand in another 'bad beat'
Matusow didn't make a bad call here..he was heads up with Hellmuth at that point. He had a 1 in 7 chance of flopping a set, and if he did, he could extract maximum value out of his hand. Phil was the dumbass that decided to ship it all in with Ace high against someone that called his reraise and his bet on the flop.
A set is when you have a pocket pair in your hand and the board gives you a third card. Trips is when you have one card and two cards of the same value come on the board, like if you have a three in your hand and two three's come on the board. Same hand ranking, but different nicknames for it though.
He wasn't trying to set mine, he knew that a flop like 285 he could go with it. 668 flop or even a J82. He had the perfect stack to call and move in over Phil's continuation bet. he had position, and he knows Phil's game pretty well. If Phil hits the ace he'll be passive because it looks like Mike has AQ. My guess is Mike moves in on most flops if Phil bets, otherwise he checks it down.
Mike was just trying to flop a set and it didn't cost him THAT much more to see it. He got in as cheap as he could, and he hit the flop. Phil shouldn't be crying over this.
Phil always talks about people who are bad winners. But the people he talks about like sheiky and mike only are bad winners when they win from phil. Because phil is just a bad loser. Always goes crazy after bad beats. Thats why, Phil stop crying plz

matusow is an asshole.. never gonna be as good as phil.. even tho phil made a wrong move there.. but matusow started boastin like he won the Series or somethin.. what a prick
Mikey keeps winning bracelets in more skill-based games. the mixed games, where you can't just shove monster stacks and bluff people off moderate hands.
Most recent win by Mikey: deuce-seven draw, where READING opponents is crucial. Previous bracelets = Omaha8, where you gotta fold when your monster is outdrawn (Phil sucks at that). And neither are games Phil would ever try playing.
Not to mention Mikey's final table history > Phil's!

It was a bad call pre-flop, phil could've had anything. He raised big preflop to let Matusow know he had a good hand, and Matusow called with a very weak pocket pair. This was the mistake, he was basically committing all of his chips to a coin flip. Nobody making a good call would do this. If that 3 hadn't come up, Phil could have paired on almost anything and anihilated him.
"Look at whats flopped out, rofl.and whatsmore, 1.9k to see a flop, who wouldn't call?"
Did you notice Mike's chip stack? He wasn't getting anywhere near the odds he needed to set-mine. If he thought he still had the best hand preflop, he should have just shoved in then. What was he going to do if the flop came K-Q-9? Fold, with nearly one third of his stack in the pot? No doubt that Matusow is a great player, but his flat-call there is definitely questionable at best.
true, but 50.5% isn't "much" stronger... although a pair is much stronger to the flop, where if phil missed, mike could have gotten phil to fold on a checkraise all in.
and mike should have moved in. He shouldn't have just called unless he knew what phil had, or at least knew phil had ace something. That way he can check raise flop on the flop if an ace doesn't come, and take it down.
I don't think Mike had enough implied odds to try to hit the set
Really he started the hand weak? Is that what Phil said? Well if Mike had 3's and Phil had A-8 and Mike was the favorite, then how exactly does that work? This interview was done after the hand was over. Phil Hellmuth is a dick! and he's stupid to boot.
i think thats a bad call with 3s unless u have a great read on who your heads up with i dunno i just think its a bad call blinds are so small to and a big raise i dunno
Phil made a bad raise preflop. From 300 to 2200 total? Mike can elliminate strong cards, like AA KK QQ and even JJ and AK, and he'd rather play a small pot with those hands. Mike also has position on Phil.
I bet Mike thought Phil was weak, maybe had high cards, maybe a low pair as well. if Phil bets, Mike can move all in on the flop and take it down quie a large percentage of the time where it's profitable. Plus when mike gets a set, he can get it all.
watch comments of phil afterward; he suspected a strong hand , but he wasnt sure
youre proposal for mike to go all in on the flop would stop the betting - phil would fold.
qed
call was the right move on flop, even if mike did not know what kind of hand phil had. maybe mike luckily chose the best solution, but indeed was best solution on flop.
and all in phil on second nine was so big a mistake
phil hellmuth is even worse than matusow because he actually believes the bullsh*t he is spewing. Matusow is at least just messing around most of the time. How could that be a bad call my matusow preflop when they had the same odds?

Lol. do exactly noe wtf ur talking? Look at whats flopped out, rofl.and whatsmore, 1.9k to see a flop, who wouldn't call?
And how can Phill actually paired up anything. When Mike already hit 3 of a kind?
Whatsmore, Phil's face emotion gave him away, look at how worried he is 2:00+?
Phil's just a sore loser in my opinion. He never shuts up whenever he lose.
So what even if he has 11wsop braclets? He's jus a sore loser and the worst idiot of poker history that never stops talking.
