So today is the 22nd December 2009, so exactly 20 years to the day that this was originally broadcast on CITV! I'm still bitter that TSW didn't show Jerry Foulkes' last ever CITV link & I've still not ever seen it, but hopefully one day I will get to! I've waited 20 years so far, so there's no rush but hopefully one day it'll turn up on here or somewhere! Anyway, Merry Xmas everyone!...
Sadly not as far I know, but if you look at the video repsonse above, this has the same ''CITV'' footage as my video, from the Granada region, but cuts off just as Jerry's final link is about to begin! I e-mailed the user who uploaded it but he said he dosen't have the links before/after etc, just the ''Knightmare'' footage. So, twice now I've missed out on seeing Jerry's last goodbye - TSW opted-out back in '89 & that video ends just as it begins! I hope one day I do get to see it though!
If you click on the "Video Response" link above, you can see the proper version as it should've been, with the Broadsword & Anglia idents, followed by a brief 1 second clip of Jerry's last CITV link. It's a shame Jerry's last link isn't available in full on here somewhere...
It was so upsetting that TSW cut off the final CITV link on this day, as it was presenter Jerry Foulkes' last day on CITV, and all us south-west viewers missed him saying "Goodbye" etc. After the Broadsword slide, it should've then gone to an Anglia slide, then Jerry & Scally's final link of the day. However, as you can see TSW faded out to an advert break, which was a shame!
I actually didn't hate Gus as such, but what I did hate was the half-assed way that TSW used to cut off the first & last CITV links of the day, just to get some more air-time for Gus! They even moved "Home And Away" to an earlier time, to get more air-time for him too!
Thank you for uploading this DJ Fairborne 77 it is the best clip ever along with all the other CITV clips which you uploaded such as the 1991 and the 1993 CITV clips
'89 was an amazing year. i used to LOVE coming home from school on a friday night, cold and dark nights...id sit by the fire and settle down to watch nightmare while my mum cooked my tea :)
I loved Knightmare too! Fridays were always fish and chip nights in my house, so watched Knightmare until my dad came home and changed his clothes , then we would think about getting fish and chips for my family!
Does that say 1967 or 1968? One of the two, certainly ... I never liked those late-period Warner Bros cartoons: the quality of animation had gone right down, and the characters looked wrong as well (as Jarvis Cocker once observed).
I think you must have read the roman numerals wrong; those are actually the earlier Looney Tunes cartoons. The laters ones in the 1960s had a completely remixed theme tune most certainly didn't feature Bugs as the voice actor had quit by that point as far as I'm aware.
Yeah, 1989 was a great year for me too, I remember that Christmas well, as my Mum got me a Yamaha keyboard & I was thrilled! As for CITV, Jerry & Scally were legends and fab presenters. Also, there were some great programmes on back then such as "Knightmare", "Fun House" & "Rolf's Cartoon Club".
It's a shame that they don't do childrens shows like this any more :(
Thank you for uploading :)
