Just wondering why, in your Stamford Brook video, the piccadilly line runs next to the platform. I was remembering how it doesnt at Chiswick Park. (My nan's local station)
@zenzombie72 Its all related to history and how at one time District Railway and another railway (LSWR, I think?) shared the route using a pair of tracks each, but one service more or less died out around the time of WW1 and then in the 1930's the disused northern pair of tracks were rebuilt for services as we wee them today - in the process requiring new platforms at some stations, including at Stamford Brook for eastbound District Line trains only.
As I understand it the official rule is that you can stop for a short while to take photos whilst passing through, but if you want to stay longer then you should ask the station officials.
Whatever else use 'paper' travelcard tickets and avoid the electronic Oystercard like the plague, as it times journeys and if journeys take longer than the system thinks they should then you are effectively penalised financially.
Those two bridges make such a raket when pic trains cross at speed they are not suppose to now but sometimes they do still and it is very irritating. Don't you think they should rebuild the station and make Piccadilly line trains stop here it really would make things a lot more peaceful and convienient.
there were plans for north - south express tracks to mirror parts of the Northern Line, and although construction did begin (albeit in the guise of wartime shelters) the project was never completed.
I reckon that's the fastest bit on the piccadilly line between Acton Town & Hammersmith. Even the 1959 stock used to get up a fair old lick on that bit!!

Great Video, Does Chiswick Park Station have ticket barriers?

probably, as most stations do nowadays.
Its right the other side of London from where I live, so I never normally go there.

yes but only in a few places.
there were plans for north - south express tracks to mirror parts of the Northern Line, and although construction did begin (albeit in the guise of wartime shelters) the project was never completed.
