Primus IS amazing live. They have been since they came out in the mid 80's. One of my all-time favorites. Kind of funny to think they're still relevant. About the John Mayer comment, though. As mainstream and poppy as he is, one only needs to check out John Mayer Trio live to realize that John is one of the most innovative and spectacular blues players in the world today. And before anyone calls me stupid I'd like to point out that Eric Clapton agrees with that statement.
@cjonesufc so eric clapton is the leading authority on what is blues? Im not disagreeing with you, im just saying just because clapton agrees with it doesnt mean its so.
@sociopathix . I never said he's the "leading authority", though I should probably point out that he likely knows as much about the blues as anyone. Many of the original blues guys credit him with bringing the blues into the mainstream. Of course his agreeing with it doesn't make it so. No matter what it's all opinion in the long run. So.... since you aren't disagreeing with me then why the comment?
@cjonesufc Ive heard a bunch of mayer, my family is a fan. Alright tunes, im more of a les claypool type of person though, i like weird and unique music. They definatly talented though.
fuck yes, this reminds me of trippin on 2c-i out in the field at night. good days! and fuck what the dude below me says, the guitarist isn't the best but you've got to addmit that he selected some really trippy distortion for this one.
primus if you can hear me, do more of this shit PLEASE!
i think he's one of the best. he has his own style, he doesnt try to really sound like anyone else. he's perfect for primus, for their style, for their whole feel. he's totally unique.
while i love ler i think the reason he seems to kinda get the shaft is cause Tim and especially claypool really steal the show. i think out of the 3 of them he's the least skilled. however i still think he's good as hell and i'd happily lob a foot off to be able to play like him
It sounds like they snuck in "On the Run" by Pink Floyd on that jam, and to think they nailed it like that just shows how great Primus truly are as musicians.
Tim is killing on this tune!

@ant1p0p well compared to claypool most everyone is less skilled lol.
And tim is an amazing drummer too, but even still claypools the show stopper of the three.
