  • I love you all. Be well.

  • Maybe best live example....early dayzzzzzzzzzzz

  • Watching this, you really can sense how the whole thing was trying (and succeeding) to do something profoundly different yet insightful.

  • Someone here said the Talking Heads are weird...That's what makes them so GOOD!!!!

  • Flat out awesome.

  • pretty good cover..so was BRYAN FERRY'S..maybe better.

  • Now THIS is the tempo!

  • This was part of my coming of age musically soooo many years ago, when i realized that was more than 70's metal :) Wish I could have seen them at GBGB's

  • YEEEEAH! <3

  • 'Name of this band is Talking Heads' is a double LP and hope you all got for definitive version of this song.

  • MATTHEW BARNETT, Take me to the River, my money my joints

  • This reminds me of the the first time Human kind landed on the moon. The footage looks similar. The band is great though!

  • @Shaun17170 Though it seemed like half a lifetime at the time, probably because it was over half my life at the time, those events were separated by less than 9 years.

  • L O V E this version.

  • Wow, this is painful, but educational to listen to this after the Stop Making Sense version. To me this song shows vividly how the band transformed from a fairly typical small-club rock band with different ideas and an interesting music-based sound (as opposed to the typical rhythm and guitar-based glam or hard rock bands of the time that used as little music as possible) into something that was markedly different - the celebratory musical garden that Talking Heads become.

  • @Baritone45 Yeah, the Heads are wierd. You can't really say where their music came from. You know, at least with, say, The Police, you can say there's a punk and reggae influence.

  • @FetaCheese222 You say weird, I say interesting. I think it all came from their ummm heads. I wish we had more original thinkers in commercial music.

  • @Baritone45 I meant "wierd" in a good way. They're very unique.

  • @FetaCheese222 LOL, in that case, I completely agree.

  • Yeah!

  • Many Thanks from Florida!!!

  • Finally found it!!

  • yeah - I don't like the faster tempo.

  • i love the way Tina moves...

  • i know this song by Uyen Linh VietNamIdol, so i think the cover of UYEN LINH is great more than.... pl try if u don't believe me, GOOGLE it: UYEN LINH - take me to the river.

i think u will love her cover!!

  • @yumionlyyou I dont think you should beg for attention that way, Uyen Linh has a great voice, ppl around the world will know her, soon enough. Believe me ;)

  • I like ...I prefer the...the other version...by far the best version...I want the other version... I cry if I don't here the other version... where is the first version?...I want...I need...I will have...MINE MINE MINE!

  • verdammt gut , geile alte Zeit ,wow

  • The Heads version tramples Green's version.

  • @theseether you should eat more water based food.

  • @Tommyfazz ha!

  • I love Al Green, but I prefer the Heads version of this song. It's weird and sexxy at the same time.

  • that's Punk Rock

  • Roslyn, NY Rosslyn, VA... Scottie's gone AWOL. Now what?

  • point of VIEW not you. sry (I've been accused of being anal about this kind of thing) lol This is good and I love the Talking Heads but.... Al Green rocks this one.

  • Music. Imagery. Good video.

  • 5 people are Bieber fans.

  • Nice an' dirty - That's incredible man,

  • Jesus loves the Talking Heads; he will invite them to sing for the Party in Heaven. And we all get to come to It.

  • honkey tonk bluuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuues XXXXXXXXXXX

  • Can't forget the bass lick.

  • This is the best tempo for this. I don't enjoy the faster version.

  • Once again, New York 1, rest of the world 0.

  • Ok, I'll give you my vote, but only if you promise to stay there.

  • @vastak Too geocentric man, share the wealth. New York 1, rest of the world: grateful

  • @00bikeboy I accept your point of you. Came to that conclusion by observing myself. You can't get much further from New York than I am (I'm hoping only physically).

  • yeah that's the best version.

  • yep u right

  • @fugepoo the best version is BRYAN FERRY'S..

  • I always thought this song was from the 80's!

  • This is a lot closer to Al Green's original version than the way they performed it on Stop Making Sense.

  • And a lot closer to the version I've heard on the radio most of my life. I prefer this heavy blues by far.

  • Yeah...this is the version I loved way back when...still the best by far

  • Hmm wonder what they were smoking that evening!?!! It shows! lol

  • Same shit we're smoking THIS evening... LOL

  • steaming!

  • That evening? Hell, I must have been high for 20 years; I thought this song was only about 10 years old.
