Luke had more fear in Sidious than Lord Vader, and luke would of been a sith if he didn't refused to Lord Sidiouses request to replace Vader. from what I believe
@J1M5L0AT the reason sidious wanted to replace vader was because sidiuos intended vader to become more powerful than him thats the way the sith work once the apprentice becomes more powerful than the master they kill em but because vader was injured he ploted to replace him cos wiv him being a cyborg he had to retrain a litle and grow acustom to his new suit if vader wasnt injured hed be more powerful than both sidious or yoda hes still very powerful but if he wasnt injured hed be like a god!

Turns out Maul's a better swordsman and Vader's smarter. Smarts won thanks to a good application of telekinesis. Just like in the movies, Maul got too caught up in the swordfighting to remember other force powers.
Said by Lucas himslef, Vader was the most powerful sith ever, i know Maul is way more agile and skilled than the cyborg Vader (the human Vader would won with his eyes closed lol) but Vader is more inteligent and strong..in the expanded universe, Vader defeated Darth Maul's clon..but i got your point, Maul also rocks!(Y)
i think that vader, being he was much stronger and far more powerful with the force combined with his superior intelligence, could just defeat maul with his superior mental abilities, though maul is a better fighter.
