  • I'm glad this has more views than the actual vevo music video.

  • to let loooooooose~

  • B*witched's cest la vie is in the related videos...ah childhood memories of cheesy 90's pop and now I'm listening to Protest the Hero. XD

  • 2:53 Disease in your jeans!

  • Arif has been for years and always be my favorite Bass player and lyricist.

  • actually, that was quite tasty

  • this guy reminds me of adam lambert, james labrie, and robert plant put together.

  • fucking amazing

  • I love this album cover, It's like

1st look: oooh thats pretty, and cool

    2nd glance: hmmm that's strange

Close observation: This is downright fucked up...

  • this song is about suicide look at the lyrics

  • Ok guys: Protest the Hero is my favourite band, right? Scurrilous if my favorite album, right? And C'est la Vie is by far my favorite song from this divine band, right?

1:30 is one of the best complex riff I've heard in my life... and at 3:07 till the end, it's the best fucking ending ever composed in music history! RIGHT???

  • The official video was block from Canada!?

  • C'est La Vie means "such is life" - Not shit happens...

  • @iiMSoGoNe Actually it means "that's life", but good try.

  • @iiMSoGoNe From French to English it literally translates to "That's life", but it's a phrase a French speaker would use for shit happens. Listen to the lyrics of the song, the whole meaning of it is pretty much shit happens;)

  • @UpperAir17 I confirm, I speak French (I'm from Quebec) and you are right, we use C'est la vie for shit happens.

  • Isn't C'est la vie a fancy way of saying Shit happens?

  • @mattycooke It's not the fancy way, its the french way!

  • Great progressive metal!

  • I hate metal. but I love this song..... so good

  • What kind of sorcery is this?

  • i absolutely love this band there from Canada and they get compared to alot of my favorite bands

  • im not a huge fan of PTH... but this song is EPIC

  • Rody Walker = best vocal range in metal. Bar none.

  • @Hockyluv21

    You are.. so wrong.

He's an excellent singer, but his range is far from the best.

  • @Hockyluv21

Christian Älvestam shits allover rody several times over without even opening his range beyond the first2 octaves, and rudy is already fucking amazing to begin with.

  • @Hockyluv21 Definitely way up there haha. There are a few that are pretty close though!

  • @Hockyluv21 im not arguing with you, i love protest the hero and rody, but check out a band called ninjaspy. if rody ever had an equal i would say it would that guy.

  • @Hockyluv21 He has some of the nicest highs out of the newer crop of metal, for sure. Dude has to be some kind of tenor-to-high tenor. Not so sure about many good lows by him though, which would probably put his total range under a lot of the 80's metal guys.

  • @Hockyluv21 Debatable - at least, it used to be... Most of the ridiculous NWOBHM/Prog Metal guys have less of a range than they used to.

  • @Hockyluv21 I wouldn't say that. Spencer Sotelo from Periphery has a much higher range. But Rody's tone is much better

  • @Hockyluv21 ...Bruce Dickinson.

  • @DeathMetalSavior LOL, chris cornell AND james labrie AND phil anselmo AND axel rose AND ville valo AND peter steele AND david coverdale AND mike patton AND robert plant AND rob halford AND david lee roth AND countless metal vocalists AND me too have more range than him. no offence to you, that's clear.

  • @soldatojoker85 david lee roth a metal vocalist? LOL you gotta be "soldatojokING"

  • @blacktide50 oh, what a pity i didn't say he is a metal vocalist. neither coverdale is ;)

  • @blacktide50 nor chris cornell, he is into something a little obscure, i can't classify him

  • Comment removed

  • @Hockyluv21 Christian Alvestam would disagree.

  • saw these guys at uproar <3

  • 1:30 is my shit

  • Scurillous is very likely the best album ive ever heard in my life protest the hero are so talented -3

  • and this cd?

  • could you upload kezia and fortress?

  • Awesome song

  • @CornadaTV. Converge is good, but not the status of those 5 I mentioned.

  • haha they used a good French expression :D

  • @rharold hell yeeah!

  • Scratch Meshuggah, Dillinger Escape Plan.

  • @pushcomedy No Converge?

  • @reggae13. ABR is a great band, but not necessarily big 4 status. Mine would be BTBAM, PTH, Periphery, and Meshuggah.

  • Anyone else get a Symphony X vibe from this?

  • @stevesellers Ya kinda, a bit sped up of course haha.

  • @tablecork i can :) and i live in canada

  • @DrunkonCyanide666 you fucking kind of suck

  • They kind of suck

  • i live in malaysia and i can watch it! hehe

  • Whitby, Ontario, CANADA!

  • 1) Pause at 0:44

    2) Set volume to max

    3) Play video

    4) Shit bricks!

  • protest the hero's C'est la Vie is better . Oops i was suppose to copy pasta this on other c'est la vie songs by different artists

  • @reyjed619

That's not even remotely funny or creative.

  • fuckin amazing.

  • At first, I didn't know Protest the Hero, then I heard them live on Graspop and they opened with this song: INSTANT FANDOM

  • dude i was just chillin and the guitarist for protest the hero came in (to where i take music) and was like yah just droppin off my guitar book, :0

  • @EHNOTTOOSURE So jealous :O

  • Good shit ...I already love this band!

  • I can't even watch the official video of this because it's not available?!

I live in fucking Whitby Ontario, where these guys are from..

  • @NeverForgotN

I think it is the user who uploaded the video, who set the restrictions. Sort of dumb.

  • i like this image + the music is awesome as well

  • @MrJoeysan: me too, man...

    And I am German XD

Errr... the band is awesomeee :D

  • see them today

  • Reasons why I love protest the hero:

This band is so articulate with thier instruments

.There bass players parts are like 10 times harder that most other bands lead guitar riffs. they keep the melody in music witch alot of bands like brain drill have deemed as less important than speed.

Protest changes every album but always blows my mind!

They started as a political punk band

    They kick ass!!

.P.S. That lick that starts at :32 is so creative!! it changes key yet still sounds incredible!!!!!!

  • rody walker has an amazing voice

  • Duuuude, This guy sounds like the singer from Tankard! Lol

  • @famed0tswagg holy shit your fucking right, didn't even realize until u said that lol.(btw tankard is a great thrash band!!!)

  • @Reggae13 don't joke about that

  • These guys are a breath of fresh air in music today, keep it up boys great job

  • Appearantly I can't watch the official C'est La Vie video because it's not available in my country....I LIVE IN FUCKING CANADA

  • @tablecork give it another try, i live in alberta, and it worked for me..

  • @tablecork that's bullshit, i live in the u.s but i know protest comes from canada. Corporate pigs that own protests soul

  • @tablecork It wouldn't be as bad other then the fact their from like Ontario

  • @tablecork I feel your pain bro, i can't watch vids of german metal bands either :<

  • @tablecork Didn't you know that Canada is practically a third world country? I guess not, third world countries lack when it comes to education ^.^

  • @tablecork Same here that just fucked up.

  • @tablecork i feel your pain brah

  • @tablecork whats even more sad is the fact that their fucken canadian

  • @tablecork I can watch it :D

    And I live in Canada.

  • @tablecork hhahahahahahahahaha

  • @tablecork

I totally agree. Ironic how YouTube was made in America, by Americans. Their country restrictions are really fucking pointless. Unless it is a terrorist video, I do not see anything wrong with other countries viewing your video. Seems a bit racist.

  • @tablecork LOL SAME

  • @tablecork lets go burn UMG

  • @tablecork Yeah I cant watch it either. What a fuckin piss off.

  • @tablecork your comment always gives me joy, lol :D

  • @tablecork Use Youtube Proxy :)

  • @tablecork

    BLAME CANADA!

  • @tablecork HAHA

  • @tablecork really? :) what province? I also live in Canada

  • @SymphonyOfSword2Swan Newfoundland! haha

  • @tablecork Lol oh wicked. I heard its awesome over there. I live in the boring "Saskatchewan" >_<

  • @SymphonyOfSword2Swan Yeah are weather is shit thought XD

  • @tablecork Haha oh yea? our whole province is "flat" though :/ which is weird Lol.

  • @SymphonyOfSword2Swan :D more Canadians! Manitoba FTW!

  • @guitarherolegend55 haha sweet. Nice to know there is canadian metalheads :P

  • @SymphonyOfSword2Swan well i wouldnt say im a metalhead (ya know... Rush, Muse, Dropkick Murphys) ...but still PTH is one of my favourites! :D

  • @SymphonyOfSword2Swan man theirs soooo many metalheads in Canada. Especially on Vancouver Islands. So many great metal bands and musicians hail from Canada as well.

  • @guitarherolegend55 BC for life!!

  • Protest The Hero, Between The Buried And Me, August Burns Red and The Human Abstract, should be the next BIG 4 after the old ones die HAHAHAHAHA

  • @reggae13 PTH, BTBAM (even though theyve been a little stale since colors) and THA (dont really listen to them but i like what Ive heard so far so Ill accept them) are fine but leave August Burns Red behind, theyre not bad but they dont compare to the other three, theyre just metalcore bullshit, you know hardcore scream, breakdown, another hardcore scream another breakdown. its good if your into that stuff but its not good songwriting.

  • @IGNsucks you have no idea what people put nto there music, have no idea of peoples lyrics and your sitting here judging an entire genre, there is no such thing as good writing, its what you look for in music. don't be a douche and impose your judgements on other peoples personal preference, individuality it to be honored not destroyed

  • @silentsmokeNIN since when does metal compose of four bands?............and your trying to tell me that the shitty pop music on the radio where idiots are calling women whores and talking about how people want to fuck them should be respected..............theres shit and then there art, pth falls into art.......individuality is to be respected not honored........if you want to wear a nose ring then go ahead but if you want to walk around with a clan mask then Im going to tell you to fuck off.

  • @IGNsucks my friend must've commented on my profile cuz i have no idea what ur bitching at me about lol. i dont even listen to this band, Nine Inch Nails is SO much better lol. this is a pretty good song though

  • @silentsmokeNIN nine inch nails is good but this band is better.

  • @IGNsucks you're obviously are delirious, i cant believe i even heard you say tha

  • @silentsmokeNIN ???..........dude im a huge nine inch nails fan so when I say this band is better im making that judgment based on ten years of listening to both bands. dont go crazy because your favourite band isnt the best, theyre good but this band is better.

  • @IGNsucks as a NIN fan i agree

  • @IGNsucks I kinda put ABR in 'cause they just shit near perfection with they're live performances. But you know, that's my opinion, well, maybe Veil Of Maya would be a good choice, I dunno. haha.

  • @IGNsucks OOOORRR maybe Born Of Osiris.

  • I want Kill someone :O

  • There playing with metallica? Good maybe that`ll give them some more exposure, wich they need theyre like the best unknown band they deserve alot more.

  • Although the story is very sad, the lyrics are put together so well.

Protest the Hero is so great.

  • i cant beleive some ppl dislike this song, its great

  • I'm seeing these fuckers in Newfoundland, fucking stoked!

  • You just cant play guitar any better.

  • AY!......shut da fuck up :l

  • Opening song from the show I saw on April 29th :D No doubt in my top 3 favorites by Protest

  • Im goin to see them in July with Metallica :D fk I cant wait

  • @cuutie666 Sonsiphere? :D

  • @destroysubgenres That b so much fun , but no theyre coming to Canada

  • @cuutie666 Sweet, Im seeing metallica and PTH at Sonisphere UK :D

  • Some guy stepped off the platform and made the trains run 15 mins late in the morning. No seriously this happened in NY today...I couldn't help but think of this song.

  • @ThisIsNotVincent did the guy get hit?

  • Most people just simply don't deal well with change. There have been many bands in the past who push boundaries in the accepted musical "guidelines" of the time and were resented. Musical technicality is being pushed generation by generation. I wonder what the next generation's technical heights will reach. We can only stick to the same "musical rules" before we get bored with it. People will push Musical Creation to the next level and there will be a flock of haters with it.

  • I love this. So deliciously metaphoric

  • THIS is how a band goes from mallcore to actually play real METAL, way to go PTH :)

  • 1:44 reminds so much of Decade of Statues by BTBAM. This is the first I've heard this band and I like it a lot though.

  • @ledzppn69 check out their previous albums, Fortress and Kezia. Fortress is my favorite prog-metal/metal album of all time.

  • Heyyy, wait a second. This isn't Chuck Berry.

  • just saw PTH in Hamilton Ontario today, fucking amazing

  • @CylonAndrew that show was fucking awesome i was there. this was the perfect song to open with

  • My ears had to adjust from Fortress to scurrilous... took a while, but finally got into it.

  • @TheWorld There is no bad Protest the Hero album. There is no best Protest the Album. They are all unbelievably impossible to rank because they just are all so good...so fucking good.

  • @PrismaticBlack Took me about 3 seconds :P

  • @AwhNoNotTheBees Maybe I overdid that. They can be ranked. But I don't think any of them are "bad" albums at all. That's my main argument.

  • @PrismaticBlack Wasn't in anyway criticizing what you were saying, was merely expressing my worship for everthing that is Protest :)

  • @AwhNoNotTheBees I like your thinking.

  • that is a RIDICULOUS way to look at life

  • @acspenner what, that bitching gets you no where..... i think its a pretty smart approach but you do you and see how far you get... these guys rock and thats about that... let me know when your cd changes tracks to your liking cause of your bitching

  • so just because the band is better than us at music that means we can't criticize them at all?

i love protest as much as the next guy, but i find it hard to listen to this CD all the way through. I like 3 of the songs a lot but the rest is too frantic

  • @acspenner then why bitch about it... is it gonna magically change the content thats on your cd?

  • best band ive discovered in a long time.

  • fuck yes fucking neew song!!

  • The ending is amazing.

  • FUCK YES!!! NEW PROTEST!!!

  • Just saw them last night, very good performance, but the mix was awful so you only heard one of the guitars I was kinda dissapointed.

  • @TheInbornMechanics Yeah, the vocals are something you either hate or love. I personally like it, but I can see why someone wouldn't.

  • Love this song. However, the album I feel is a step down. The songs are still all good structurally and I like them, but the lyrics aren't all that great. The only songs that I like lyrically are the ones that Arif wrote. I still like the album, just felt it could have been better if Arif wrote the lyrics for all the songs, or at least co-wrote with Rody.

    Just my two cents.

  • @dermert I totally agree.

  • Similar to Dream Theater.

  • Protest is the shit. Virtuoso.

  • and btw. im seeing hate on btbam? there both wonderful! i listened to btbam first, and hated pth at first, now i love pth more than btbam! so yea!

  • @mastadon1111

:O btbam on the next level though imo both good though

  • this sounds like kezia, moreso than fortress, even though fortress is my favorite... i like this one (:

  • The guitarists shred, the bassist can tap, the drummer makes it seem effortless, and the singer can hit notes you wish you could hit. PTH = love

  • STOP ARGUING AND SING A FUCKING SONG OF LIVING BEFORE ALL YOU MOTHERFUCKERS DIE

  • i just kinda got into this band, amazing instrumental work, but i hate the singing lol. still a great album and musicians
