I don't understand the basis of your argument. Football is about athleticism and consistency. Vince Young failed the intelligence exam going into the NFL but won 8-3 as a starter with rookie of the year honors. Look dumbass college football has little to do with academics and alot more w/ performance. I bet you Drew Stanton will have a way better NFL career than Brady Quinn. UCLA wasn't in a prevent, though. They were pressing on Grimes (#11) along the sideline on the final play. The cornerback is supposed to jam him w/in the 1st 5 yds and release to the safety help over top. Grimes cut to the sidelines and the safety followed him. That opened up the right side of the field after Quinn sold the play with the pump fake and both the corner and safety on that side had overcompensated on Grimes.
you should have never said what you just said. 44-24 (USC wins) and 47-21 (Michigan wins) seem like pretty convincing victories. This probably isn't "jeffsamardzija" anyways. don't make samardzija look like an idiot by saying stupid things like "Michigan and USC U GOT LUCKY".
UCLA made the classic mistake of playing prevent defense: Playing Prevent defense prevents you from winning.
You can't play prevent defense with a 4-point lead with under a minute to go and against a QB who is calm and cool as cucumber in these type of situations.
They need to throw to Samardzija more often. Instead of: Walker on the carry, Walker on the reception, Walker, Walker, Walker. Samardzija is an All American and Quinn refuses to throw to him wanting all the glory himself. They only use Shark when the game is on the line.
Um...no. Weis often wants to get the running game going and Walker is the #1 RB. So Walker will run most of the plays be default. And Walker is great for little short tosses when others aren't open or a play falls apart. But it's not Quinn "wanting all the glory". If that was the case, why does Samardzja now hold the ND record for most passing TD's?
