also, the engineers that are attached to infantry battalions are all division side engineers, 1st, 2nd, and 4th(reserves) CEB, and CEC. there are also group and wing engineers that do mostly construction type stuff. u can go in as an engineer and hope that you get division, but that doesn't mean that you will at first. more than likely you will spend some time there over the time of an enlistment or two. goodluck and be safe
i was with hice and hall, actually took some of the pics used for this video. to answere your question about seeing combat as an engineer, it all depends on what unit you get stationed with, the units you get attached to when you deploy, and what its like where you go to. our battalion seemed to always get the worst areas, we had our share of fights, but mostly, a deployment is alot of boredom.
@curtishice Yes I can't wait. It is a very important job in Maneuverability. Gets things done faster. Can't imagine how much harder modern warfare would be without combat engineers. Thank you for your service good sir. I have a question about combat engineering. Do you see much combat as in many firefights? Because I want to do combat engineering but I want infantry type stuff as well. I know that some combat engineers are attached to infantry but what about the others?
