  • Who made that brass catcher I like it

  • 3Bucc.

    3bucc-dot-com.

  • Can the red dot be seen is bright sun light ?

  • That is dependant upon the background.

    Jeff

  • Thanks for the video. The printed out reticle was good to look at . I think I'm going to put one on my new Yankee Hill AR

  • Hope no ones on the receiving end of your rifle, the safeties off ;)

  • The safety's between the ears.

  • good answer

  • what range would you zero this scope for?

  • I would zero the scope for 100 yards.

    jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom would you zero it for a 100 yards even for driven boar hunts? also whats the minimum range that it would be bang on centre of the reticle at a 100 yards?

  • Yes I would. I do not understand the second question.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom i mean if its zeroed for 100yards and your shooting a boar at lets say 40 or 50 would you still aim with the center of the crosshair?

  • Yes. There will be very little difference in the point of impact.

    jeff

  • how much did the scope cost?

  • I'd love to have that set up. very nice.

  • are you catching brass there or keeping them from hitting you in the face since you shoot left handed? I am a lefty shooter too and was just wondering

  • Catching brass. I don't have a problem with brass hitting me in the face, and brass flying out doesn't bother me at all. I think a lefty has an advantage with an AR because it's quicker for me to see and clear a jam.

  • @Nicho2177 thats why the marine corps requseted a shell deflector...

  • .50!

  • Looks just like a german duplex with some hash marks.

  • Dandy. :)

  • Nice brass catcher

  • Gunblast is heavy duty!

  • Thanks for the review would you say this can take the place of an Eotech, or just maybe fill in for it on a temporary basis?

  • I would much rather have the VX-R than an Eotech. It is a lot more versatile, but can still fill the role of a dot scope.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom That's a good point. It could be left on the low power setting for home defense and then taken up to higher magnification if necessary. I do like this scope a great deal. It seems to be perfect for the setup you're running. Plus, if it had to be pressed quickly into a defensive role, that scope combined with the .50 Beowulf cartridge would likely tip the scales significantly in your favor!

  • "You don't have to cut it on." HAHA, people say that where I am from too. ;)

  • Nice review, nice tools.. :-). Seems your eye is back on track.... good to see!

  • thanks for the picture of the scope reticle , Jeff , most sites dont show what the reticle looks like . i wont buy a scope , without seeing the reticle

  • Inna woods

  • AAC Cyclops would go great on there..

  • thx, great "shiite" as usual

  • Is that a bag on the side to catch your empty shells?

  • It's a 3Bucc Brass Catcher, all my ARs are set up for them. There is a review (no video) in our ARCHIVE section.

  • @Gunblastdotcom great review jeff

  • Does the term "Pig Plex" help you shoot more accurately or did they just want you to have something to read while you are looking through the scope?

  • Really sweet rig Jeff. Be interested in the durability of the scope mounted on that rig. I haven't had a lot of luck with Leupys on hard kickers.

  • Looking at the prices of the VX-R series, they seem very affordable. I've been looking for a decent scope for my AR (that I can afford) for coyote purposes, and the 3-9 version of this looks pretty darn good for the money.

  • Man, that rifle's got alot of recoil. What caliber is it?

  • 50 Beowulf - wonderful cartridge from Alexander Arms.

  • @Gunblastdotcom Yes sir. I'm no expert but looking at the recoil from that rifle, I'm sure it has some good hawg/bear knockdown power even if they're charg'in at ya full speed cause they're pissed off.

  • It is my favorite hog / bear rifle. I've never had to shoot anything twice with it.

  • Very good. Interesting.

  • Awsome want one ,Nice scope

  • Wow Real nice and good for them pesky wild hogs

  • good scope. thanks for sharing.

  • Nifty scope.
