  • Got to say, I'm impressed with Iva's attitudes.

  • @Vinomadd I am too, because he has not let money, fame, nor having a nice home change him.

  • I visited the Icehouse website on fb, and saw a picture of Iva and his daughter at the November 27, 2011 awards. She has grown to be a beautiful young woman. Iva must be very proud of her. I wonder if he has to send the boys away when they come calling.

  • A true Icon of the 80's and then some. Great Southern Land

  • Its not in a way my or out business but if you Google it does seem Iva and Tonia are not married so I hope they are still 'friends' (which we won't debate but it is possible to get on with your ex its people that make drama) but what I would have liked to have asked Tonia is what did she think of the Dusty Pages video.

  • I read in Wikipedia that Iva and Tonia were divorced in February, 2010. Please tell me that this isn't so. I read somewhere that they met in 1985. Did they date for five consecutive years before committing to marriage in 1990? That is a long time to date and get to know each other. They were such a lovely couple with a wonderful family. Can anyone confirm if they did indeed divorce?

  • @roadglide21 I hope that we are both wrong. I also thought that Iva & Tonia were a perfect couple and when I read that bit on Wiki I couldn't believe it. Yeah they met in 1985 and lived together for two years before tying the knot. I guess Iva was busy with his massive Icehouse success in the late 1980's to think about getting married.

  • @Secretvictoria66 I would be elated if I read that they were renewing their wedding vows instead of reading that they have divorced. I also read that Iva said that his wife and children inspired him. I heard that she was a dancer/choreographer, and he is real busy with his musical career. He seems to be giving his children a boost in their musical talents also. I hope that the two weren't so busy that they forgot about their relationship. That is rather sad to think about. Keep me posted.

  • @roadglide21 I will if I hear anything more. Please do the same for me. Yes, Tonia was a dancer but she gave it up to raise a family.

  • I read in Wiki that Iva & Tonia Davies got divorced last year after almost 20 years of marriage. Can anyone confirm this? I hope it's not true because they seemed to be the ideal couple.

  • What a great talent he is ...best of luck to him..

  • wow - nice!

  • What is the name of the statue at 1:41?

  • Wow just amazing. Such an inspiration. They are all so humble.

  • Wow what an amazing person, He and his family so humble after an amazing life. Beautiful family.

  • where does the version of No Promises that starts playing at 3:22 come from?

  • @CharlieThePoorBoy hey matey,, that verion of 'No Promises' was from the 'Meltdown' Icehouse Remixed and cover versions from lots of Aussie Artists,, and remixed by '(Love ) Tattoo',,

  • I was wondering, Iva seems to be such a nice fellow, he has grayed handsomely for his age (he is 55). Is he a great deal older than his wife? She has brown hair in this clip of Burke's Backyard. Does she color her hair? How old is she? Iva has always been a handsome man, and age has made him all the better looking. How much older is he than his wife? She is very attractice, so are his children. They seems to have raised a couple of great kids!

  • im amazed how his kids arent little pretentious fuckheads ! well done iva and tonia ! look at the hilton whores ! OMG !

  • Ive never seen this clip before..thank you for posting this....I grew up with this band,,,,even lucky enough to have seen them a few times...He is a gentalman....

  • Iva, the Australian music industry would not be the same without your remarkable contribution.

Thank you for your great talent & fantastic voice, please go on recording as long as you love what you do.

BTW, congratulations on a beautiful family too!

  • Very nice. It's good to see some down to earth, successful musicians who value family and life. Iva appears to be a really nice fella.

  • Iva Davies. much respect.

  • Iva, what a nice person you are and what a fabulous family you have. Your kids are fabulous! PS you wouldn't be Welsh by any chance? (No wonder you have such a terrific voice)

  • Iva

Thanks for showing us into your world !!

It looks great !! Well done on all the wonderful

music you have contributed to my life.

I LOVE every one of your songs as they

allow me to explore the depths of my soul.

  • Iva Davies has one of the most beautiful voices ever in rock music

  • couldnt agree more, Iva has not gotten the recognition that he should have.

  • Why shouldn't he be well off financially? Some Australians resent it when talented people make a good living. Iva hasn't chosen to abandon Australia. He has a lovely, refined wife, and two great children. When his daughter was showing Don the garden, she expressed herself well and showed a delightful sense of humour. They live quite modestly and not ostentatiously. When there are other self-destructive routes a rock musician can take, Iva has made good choices. That's what I call success.

  • i'm surpriced Iva Davies is still well off financially, here in America i only heard their music during the 80's heyday, afterwards those commercially based stations are only playing a bunch of garbage i don't even want my kids being exposed to.

  • Iva Davies and Icehouse are the biggest band ever in Australia. While we "commercially" only got 3 of the 11 albums and know bands like INXS and Mightnight Oil better, Icehouse is their biggest musical export making Iva one of the richest men in Australia. Not to mention his score for the Master & Commander movie one an Oscar and he did the official song of the Olympics when it was in OZ.

  • How normal and nice do they seem???

  • fantastic artist. a true kift to mankind, true genius. lovely family and home, more than deserves it....

  • I agree.

  • Actually two amazing characters. You could have adrink with either and not suffer any pomposity.Didnt know he did Russel Crowes movie.

  • I am very happy to have finally seen this interview, having only viewed stills in a previous search. Thanks for all the effort you put into getting this up. It's much appreciated!!

  • where in oz is this house?

  • i know were but im not going to release that information but it is in sydney i have been there cause i am friends with his son and know him quite well

  • i wasnt planning on throwing stones at him....sydney wlll do.

  • Iva Davies is a musical genius. I'm so sorry I never got to see Icehouse live, they are my favourite group of all time. It's a crime that they never made it big in the UK.

  • They are playing at a big charity gig in Sydney on Saturday for the bushfires in Victoria. Not sure if its being shown worldwide, but sure someone will post stuff on here.

  • i know iva hes my dads friend

  • Many people wish they were on your place :-)

Do you kow if Iva/Icehouse plans to release a new album or a DVD with all their videoclips?

  • @brettles909 Is he a good Bloke??

  • Fantastic pad! Iva Davis, stand forth and be recognized. Your contribution to Australian Music is priceless.

  • correction- contribution to World Music is priceless! I will never understand why it took the US so long to catch on. Kind of like The Fixx not catching on in the UK *?* How does that happen?? Not happen??

  • ...beautiful, a dream come true.

  • Good for you, Iva. Fair dinkum Aussie rock legend and seems like a good bloke to boot. Love your work.

  • liked icehouse a long time.i hope to someday have such a great house(powerball)!totally beautiful!

  • Thanks for putiing that up- I first saw Icehouse back in 1988 in Adelaide - he's a very talented man (he also contributed to the Master and Commander soundtrack)

  • i love iva

  • I met Iva in Houston, Tx back in 1988. He was an incredibly nice guy. And, I have a photo of the 2 of us. Good memories. Thank you, Iva!!! Nice to see that you are so happy with your family.

  • This is great. Thanks for posting it! What a great guy and a wonderful couple and family they are.

  • OMG Iva has gotten OLD..I never would have recognised him! My god, he sures lives in a STUNNING paradise, I'd be thrilled just to get to visit there!

  • 3;23

Did you see Mrs. Davies face when he brought up his out-of-control hands.

    .

As though she was wondering what else he was about to ad, and where she might look there after.

    .

It is just a house -the sunshine is better.

    Cheers.

    from,

    del-boy.

  • Thanks for this!

  • BRYNN GOES 2 MY SCHOOL> FAMOUS!!

  • Very cool. I haven't seen that before. It looks like Iva's got a great family - Wonderful little girl, I love her accent in the gardening portion. I saw Icehouse back in the late 80's at First Avenue in Minneapolis - yes like Purple Rain. One of the best shows I've ever seen. I hope to see them again some day.

  • I remember an awful lonely heartbroken summer in 1986. I was sixteen, terribly lonely in Pennsylvania, and I saw this thing one day on public TV, a studio performance of measure for Measure- it was so different and cool I bought the album. I'd listen to it every night and it took me away from the loneliness; helped me feel ok. It's a magic recording and I still listen sometimes. Iva, thanks for doing all of that work, you deserve good things :)

  • I'm sorry man, but how can you feel lonely when your only 16?

  • Easy; my dad's idea of parenting was to ignore me when he wasn't putting me down. I grew up blaming myself for everything. It took me most of my life to finally be okay with myself. I made most of my progress when I finally shut him out of my life completely in 2005. I feel pretty good about myself now.

  • Dear no., It is interesting to hear your comment on resolving your family matters. . Do you think your father could have a mental illness -which prevents him from behaving badly? Rather than think he is normal -and he is intentionally behaving badly? . If he is unintentionally behaving badly, then, could you have a relationship with him, where you respected him inspite of his illness; and where you also never expect gratitude? . Or would that be too hard? Cheers. from, del-boy.
  • Great video and have to say Don Burke did a great job just letting Iva tell his story. The TV station that pulled this show deserves to be at the bottom of the ratings as it is now.

  • His hair is grey now.

    Thanks for the vid!

  • Dear Ke.,

So too, is your hair grey !

    Cheers,

    from,

    del-boy.

  • Interresting view into the private life of a great musician and composer. Its also funny to hear that the "Aussie's" interpretation of the word "stone" is so close to the german word "Stein" (spoken: steyn) for the same thing.

  • Great !!

  • awesome

  • Wow, this is awesome! Thanks!!!
