@Mcy81 The Helio Sequence, Blind Pilot, The Shins (although not originally formed in P-town, are now based there), The Decemberists, Blitzen Trapper, Pink Martini.......and many other lesser known bands, there is quite a bubbling hub of indie music emerging in Portland :)

Two bigger older acts are The Dandy Warhols and Everclear.....

@dynamicd24 and @Mcy81 And not to forget Eliott Smith, the Kingsmen (Louie, Louie!) and the Wipers (who got pretty big in Germany, and were a huge influence on Kurt Cobain), Nu Shooz and Quarterflash (hah!) and yet others who have relocated here—Stephen Malkmus (Pavement), Spoon, Sleater-Kinney, and more.)

But Mcy81, you're right. Most of the best is (or maybe, was) from the UK. :-)
