  • I am happy that this video was made with such tact.

  • Why is it that everyone is choosing to ignore the fact that Rock Hudson had a partner whom he never told about his disease? The man found out after Rock Hudson died.

  • That's like a lot of people that don't talk about their illness that are killing them. They keep it to themselves.

  • I so moved that words can't express my thoughts about this lovely video. It's so touching and, I'm happy you posted it. Thank you.

  • I still refuse to belive that Rock was gay. Not that there is anything WRONG with it before people jump all over me for saying so... but any man who can WOO and LOVE women on screen the way Rock did has to be straight or the greatest actor ever to live.

  • @inkenyo Yeahh but you know homosexuals are known to understand women , it's not the case for all of course , but I think it was the case for Rock Hudson and that's why it works on the screen with women :)

  • @inkenyo He had open heart surgery and it seems quite possible he got the disease from a blood transfusion--at the time I don't think they were screening blood for HIV. But everyone is always willing to think the worst of a star after they are gone--e.g., what happened to Elvis' legacy too.

  • Dear Doris...... she proved what faithful friendship was....... something almost non existent in Hollywood. I admire her for that. And Rock...... well he was homosexual but more male and more of a man than any 10 top Hollywood actors of the last 30 years. Actually America seems to have become afraid of real masculinity as all the recent stars seem totally weak and asexual.

  • this is lovely but so sad at the same time :(

RIP Rock, we all miss you!!

  • Was watching the movie "Giant" the other day. That diner fight scene is hard to watch, watching Hudson's character losing the fight..

  • wirklich zu herzen gehend.....ein wunderschönes fanal der freundschaft!

  • 0:36 very forced

  • they holding hands behind the little dog's neck <3how marvelous couple were they<3

  • Love Doris Day and Rock Hudson...they made such a cute couple. Too bad he had to die. Today he would have survived!

  • He didn't look gay at all.

  • @gramule Well, did he really? His appearance and style contradict everything I ever saw as gay.

  • @MrRazorblade999 lol. you would be surprised who in this world is gay my friend................

  • @gramule Nah, I can spot them...

  • @MrRazorblade999 lol. as gthe saying goes, it takes one to know one.......

  • @gramule Really? Now I suddenly feel the urge to watch a Chuck Norris movie to boost my masculinity.

  • @MrRazorblade999 i am afraid that this cultural reference is lost on me. happy butching up.

  • @gramule Good for you. Chuck Norris movies are crap.

  • @MrRazorblade999 thanks for the info. i'll have to check one out.

  • ..hmm..how sad..

    he,probably, would have survived today..

  • It doesnt matter what Rock had he was a terrific actor and singer!! You can tell she was in love with that man, but god had other plans and he loved the same gender and atleast he was happy in his life. Im glad she got to see him one last time

  • Looks fade its the inner essence that truly shines

  • Doris is a wonderful person

  • Even during his illness he puts most men to shame.Rest in peace rock. The worlds an emptier place without you.

  • It's disheartening to watch this. Day herself stared at him throughout the show.

  • This is a thing of beauty, thank you for posting this for us to see... ugh, and sob! :*)

  • tres emouvant la fin de rock hudson est tragique c'est trop triste

  • Hudson was a human being, like everyone else. The comment was directed at that truth, as exemplified in the feeling shared by both old friends. No one is made of celluloid.

  • How much of a friend was Rock if he didn't trust her enough to share with her what he was going through?

  • @7beers Keeping pain private is the way that some people show their love for their friends and family. They think of it as a burden that they don't want to pass to others.

  • @middlesizestrawberry Yes, you do have a point.

  • @7beers well at the time of the start of aids back then. people were very harsh on someone with aids. people lost jobs housing health care. no one would help them. so i don't blame him one bit for not trusting even the closest friends with his illness.

  • @covingtonjoe Especially when his closest friends were guys like Ronald Reagan and his pals in the Moral Majority, who acted as if it were a divine plague sent by god to kill gay people and that it's not something decent folk need worry themselves with.

  • Great person.Great people, not just celluloid idols. We'll all be together on the road forever. Love!

  • RIP Rock.

  • jesusist

  • Doris wanted something good to come from Rock's death -- well, Doris, something did -- a lot more people started paying attention to the AIDS virus.

  • love you Doris, you are one of the best

  • I knew she would prefer Pillow Talk. Love you, Doris!!

  • she is so beautiful

  • doris i love you

  • Very touching and if any of you think Rock was just a pretty face, find the movie"Seconds" and watch it. His performance in that film blew me away. I hope Doris Day is doing well, wherever she is. The narrator of this clip, Peter Graves, was also a favorite of mine. May he and Rock continue to Rest In Peace.

  • "Pillow Talk" was my favorite movie of Doris and Rock Hudson!

  • She's a decent Christian. A lot of Christians would say he was going to hell for being gay, I'm glad she thought differently.

  • @jlenoconel I see dozens of comments on websites like this about Christians saying people go to hell for being gay. Funny how I've never seen EVEN ONE comment by a Christian saying that. Christian-hatred is the new bigotry.

  • @7beers . when you abuse the name of Jesus Christ in any context you will bring the wrath of God on yourself.

Forget your concept of what a christian or ' religious' person is or should be. Focus only on Jesus Christ for he gave himself as a reconciliation between god and man. God is reconciled to man through the blood of the lamb of God-Jesus.

If you can accept him and live according to his words you will be on the path to all righteousness and the fulfilment of Gods plan for you. God bless u

  • This was the couple at the movies. Doris and Rock are perfect. Thanks for sharing. I´ve cried and it´s true I think that would make everybody cry who will see it. R.I.P. Rock

  • Beautiful.

  • Well it just shows that you shouldn't take a gay friend for granted, i wish i was rock hudson. A few of my friends treated me like a fashion item, never gonna let that happen again. I love doris day for this, I'm happy i have a few friends like that now.

  • @oranger2525

What are you talking about did not judge people? She still doesn't! Doris Day is still very much alive.

  • Comment removed

  • @oranger2525 Sensitive people always feel then need to say "Chill" whenever someone corrects them! And what does typing fast have to do with not knowing that Day is still alive? You mean, when you type fast, you forget which people are still alive? Cool.

  • Comment removed

  • @oranger2525 I only used the word "always" because I was typing too fast. :)

  • I love Doris in this clip! Really sweet!

Btw. who is the man at 2:48, never seen him before, the manage of Rock Hudson maybe?

  • My dear Ms. Doris Day,

i know, what you missed, a good friend for ever, I know it for myself - sorry You

    auf Deutsch wieder - sorry

ich weiß, was es heißt, einen lieben Menscnen zu verlieren, auch noch nach Jahren.

    Renate Bergmann, Germany/Deutschland

  • These two are so cute together. You could tell Doris Day loved Rock Hudson like a brother.

  • Wow! That's all I can say.

  • 25 yrs ago today, Rock passed away. There's a reason being different has been in the closet since the dawn of time. Because it's personal and embarrassing that you have desires for the same sex. No one knew; as it should be. Just like picking your nose. You don't want people to see, it's just gross, you're embarrassed when you do it, etc. Times changed and for some reason we all have been made to believe it's OK now. I guess if you get sick you can be treated without humiliation and may prolong

  • @Lipenstein i knew of this anniversary of his death say what you want about hudson but the sara davidson book rock his story really opened my eyes it was sensitive and took a humane approach to him, he was a good man he liked things we all do especially christmas those scenes with day are bitter sweet with rock what a testament to thy're love and friendship

  • @Lipenstein What are you talking about? Its not embarrassing for me to be gay. Its usually other people that have the problem, not me.

  • @jlenoconel Sorry the thumbs down wasn't meant for your comment.

  • this is what an artist pays off..thanks for the clip

  • the christian cable network? no wonder they didn't like Rock the gay boy on their god bothering channel

  • Rock Hudson was a great actor....Even at the end of his life which was sad the aids diease took his body and beautiful face ....Please God may he R.I.P. forever....

  • WOW...SHE IS A BRAVE WOMAN....

I WATCHED THIS WHEN IT AIRED.....

    IT STILL BRINGS ME DOWN..

  • You can see that look in Doris's eyes at 1:07. She's wondering whats wrong and obviously concerned.

  • @hillio23 she was naive

  • Gosh that made me cry :'(

  • Really wish I knew Doris Day in her time in the spotlight, but I wasn't born yet. lol She's still my favorite idle...too bad there's not a lot of people like Doris Day.. She's definately one in a million. Love you Doris <3 <3

  • Was that Uncle Jesse / Denver Pyle I saw in the opening?

  • A hollywood sister we once knew(RIP) said Miss Hudson was an annoying 'regular' in the steam room at the Sports Connection on santa monica blvd. Did she use a lot of drugs, including poppers? We would wager so.

  • RIP Denver Pyle, Rock Hudson and Terry Melcher.

  • where can I write her?

  • Having enjoyed so much astoundingly great entertainment of Doris Day and Rock Hudson I can only say thanks for such great family entertainment, and as I stated on other post., America owes gratitude to these great actors. I don't have to agree with Rock's lifestyle to say he was a fine actor who complemented the comedy style of Doris & Rock movies. Aids was invented, or enhanced, according to de-classifed docs, in an Army Lab. It was not started from gay lifestyle activity.

  • so sad...i love rock hudson

  • Aww, that's so sweet how they were friends til the end. So sweet and sad at the same time. RIP Rock Hudson...you are truly missed.

  • Is there a FULL LENGTH biography of Doris Day on youtube??

  • Rock Hudson and Doris Day!Both very wonderful people!

  • Shiittt man, and now Melcher's dead too =/

    Poor D, she don't catch a breakk :(

  • @Lorripops123 : Yes...and there are issues with her grandson... she is probably the strongest woman ever!

  • *tears up*

  • She looked more beautiful older than she did younger.

  • For a man who worked so hard to learn his craft, his acting was so smooth and natural.

  • i agree. acting looked so natural to rock hudson however he had to work so hard at his craft.

  • @180goldenboy I think the hard work paid off, sometimes the ones that have to work harder appreciate it more. Thats the problem with celebs today they are handed everything on a silver plate. Rock is my favourite actor

  • Thats very true about people in any proffesion be it sports/acting or anything if someone has worked very hard for something and finally acheived there dream they appreciate so much more than ppl who have things just handed to them. My own personal favourite was James Stewart.

  • @180goldenboy Yes it is true in any profession-I am an aspiring dog grooming, and believe me that is NOT an easy job to learn, but it's been my dream and I have to work hard to get there. i just have to wait now to get into the school thats teaching. so yes I know what hard work and patience is about but pays off in the end

  • All the best in your Dog Grooming Career.

  • @Tdgonline Agree,I always thought he was great. It wasn't until years later I read he used cue cards a lot,but he will always be my favourite

  • MY CO-WOKER and friend met him at his female' cousin 's B D PARTY when they were 12 IN ILLINOS.

  • wow that made everyone cry - im glad it wasnt just me. how moving wow - beautiful words Doris - R.I.P Rock Hudson

  • @ClassicMovieClub

    So sad!

    Rest in peace, Rock Hudson!

  • this made me cry !!! it's so sad !!!

  • It's very sad yet i think love is the key? I dont know, i do try.

  • That was a very moving video. R.I.P, Rock.

  • Omg this made me cry =(

  • OMG the last 15 seconds when it cuts to the music and photo montage, i just want to cry.... they had such a special chemistry

  • he was still damn handsome

  • I always get so emotional when I see Rock like he was in this video. I love Rock Hudson, he was so handsome and is one of my favourite actors.

I love Doris as well, I wish they were together! haha.

Oh God, I'm crying now just looking at him :[

  • Oh god, it's so sad!
