  • FUCK OFF HUDSON! WE WANT ASHBA!

  • The thing that sucks the most is nearly everyone on youtube watching this weren't there... so didn't experience the crappy quality of the band and the fact the audience waited nearly 1 and a half hours. Why boo? Cus if you bought a ticket and had to stand for that length of time you would also be extremely pissed off!

  • @Dragonforce66666

i was there, right in the middle at the barrier. from young guns to guns n roses to get that spot. crushed my body from the massive crushes at queens of the stone age.

    wasnt worth it tbh

  • @Dragonforce66666 1 and a half hours - where did you pull that time from, your ass? You obviously weren't there.

  • @timclark83 Actually its plastered all over the internet and I dont hear anyone saying it was under an hour. Most people say it was around an hour and 20 mins, I said NEARLY 1 and a half hours. I never said I was there dumbass, you should try reading the actual words I posted. Setting up? They were late! They were booed offstage dude I'm pretty sure any other band would be for being such assholes

  • @Dragonforce66666 maybe don't believe everything you read on the internet, you dumbass. They came on one hour after the previous band, at 10.30 - big deal! This is supposed to rock n'roll, if you pussy ass kids can't wait for an hour then fuck off and watch Marina and the Diamonds. (They were booed offstage? never happened shit brick).

  • @timclark83 I know people that were there, my brother was even there. Yeah it is rock and roll I think if you ask anyone who is into it, they wouldnt wait OVER an hour for it, because they get wild and pissed off, thus boos are chanted and bottles are thrown. If you have the time to wait then go listen to Marina. ( Weren't booed off??? What concert did you go to? )

  • @Dragonforce66666 are you sure you are commenting the right show? This is Reading, not Dublin. Sure there were a few boos, but they weren't booed off the stage. They played until the festival cut the sound, to the cheers of the crowd chanting 'we want more' 'one more song'. There were no problems with bottles either, shut the fuck up if you don't know what you're talking about (which you obviously don't).

  • watching them was the most boring thing i have ever done so far in my life

  • it was soo shit

    they sucked

dont bother replying to this if you were not there

  • @sh1ft9 what sucked was the floppy haired indy twats shouting 'we want slash'

  • What a *shame* Axl wouldn't allow the BBC to broadcast this...

This would have been good to catch on iPlayer...

  • this just shows that they are still the most dangerous and unpredictable band on the planet, and that people in reading are mentally retarded, no offence OP, i mean the boo-ers

  • you have got strong arms, haven't u mate? I can't hold my camera over 10 mins when i recorded Radiohead in Leeds last year's festival, lol

  • you have got strong arms, haven't u mate? I can't hold my camera over 10 mins when i recorded Radiohead in Leeds last year's festival, lol

  • From the reports I read as I was expecting friggin fireballs bein thrown at Axl the whole time. This actually looks like it was awesome and people had a good time.

  • Looks like fun

  • i cant really see, but does one of the guitarist have a doubled necked guitar?

  • @Eatyournose Yes, I saw a twin-neck. It looked like the "top" neck was fretless from where I was standing.

  • @Ursacke ooh right, btw did you say it wasnt axl who walked out but the staff who did? and how late did they come one?

  • @Eatyournose Axl walked off after Nightrain, which as about 12am. He said "Sorry everyone" or words to that effect, then tossed his mic. They started at about 10:30pm, over an hour before they were due to show. Perhaps the organisers turned off his monitor during the song or something - it sounded like he was having trouble singing the last song. Certainly there was no sound at all when he came back on.

  • @Ursacke i read on the bbc website that they had to cut him off because of a curfew thing, theyd apparently already extented the curfew or some shit by half an hour

  • @Eatyournose Ah, I see. Thanks for the heads-up, I found the BBC story here: bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/11120697

  • @Ursacke Out of interst, what kit did you shoot this on?

  • @alcockell an iPhone 4 wrapped in a festival-restistant Bumper.

  • @Ursacke Yeah it's Ron that uses the double neck, and the top neck is fretless.

Great vid btw. Axl sounds great. Can't wait till Birmingham now :)

  • @Eatyournose Yes thats Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, he plays a double necked guitar the top half of which is fretless.

  • he sounds damn' good!

  • 1. why chant for SLASH when its obvious he would NOT be there.

    2. Why stand in that huge croud for hours to see a band and then boo when they come out (DICKS) I was there and I agree its bad to make fans wait so long but hes renound for being late on stage so people should have expected it and be happy to be there to see it at all if all the people that booed had fucked off to another stage us real fans could have got closer with out geting busted up in the pits GUNS 'N' ROSES RULE !!!!!!!!!!!

  • @dunnersky Actually Slash didn't perform, but he was there at Reading in a watchtower and many people in the crowd spotted him. Or so I heard. ;)

  • They were pretty good

but then the staff unplugged axl's mic at like 12

  • @tehbilboshow I didn't realise that they kept it off. I saw Axl throw his mic in a fit and walk off just before midnight, and that's when I started to leave. I turned toward the stage again in time to see him get back on, but his mic was silent. I did wonder if they continued, but obviously not:

  • great entrance! and great "blow them all away!"

  • So it wasn't that bad? I heard they got boos like after every song :S

  • Thanks for filling the void when the Bastard Bullshit Corporation couldn't. ;)

  • omg fucking god seemed amazing reli hope tehy play leeds, i have neve been so excited bout seeing one band b4, people are sad for chanting we want slash cant people just get ova it, looks insane gun n roses rule

  • Attempted ???....Nice vid...thanks....do you have more ?....last 11 minutes of the show would be great too !

  • @avahland Sorry, that's all I've got that's more than 1 minute long. After recording this the urge to rock-out with my cock-out overtook me, and I put the phone away.

  • Yay, my idea of getting the crowds to chant Slash via twitter worked.

  • @Metalhed09

    i forgot this was 2001

  • @UwillBmine2

"but your way out of line"

nice try, but they didn't release Chinese Democracy that early. :P

  • @Metalhed09 Well then let me be the first to congratulate you on being this years cyber mental midget!! The jury was not just impressed with the fact that the über-nerd in you preferred to send tweets during a rock concert. It's also the fact that you use the medium to express your nostalgically challenged, spandex wearing, mullet tossing outlook on the world that really that gave you an edge....

  • @o0Slipdisc0o

I wasn't even there you rocket, I heard about him being late from people that were there. Wind your neck in and lighten up ffs. You want my opinion on Axl Rose?

He's an egotistic twat who puts fans and the very industry that pays him last. He's no respect for anyone and he deserves to fade away with nothing but the remnants that once was Guns N Roses upto when Slash and all left.

I watched Slash at Download this year and he was FAR better.

    Eat my Maggot shit.

  • @Metalhed09 i saw slash at download too, he was ten times better than a ginger twat and a bloke who wheres a kfc bucket on his head who calls themselves guns n roses ...

  • @Eatyournose Bucket head isnt even in Guns anymore ya twat!

  • 'i'm on a nithraain'

    I smiled

  • if they we're missionaries, real time visionnaries !! +DDD jadoore

  • why stick around to boo? sad bastards.

  • @Si262 My Dad and brother were there. We all like Guns n Roses, well at least at their height with the real band. What happened was the band were late by an hour and 15 minutes, almost taking up their entire time for when they're supposed to perform to stall around and Axl took no notice of the delay and never explained nor apologized.

If you were there, tired as hell waiting for GnR to perform and you got no respect for patience in return, of course you'd be pissed off. =P

  • @EricakaJaceII I'd be pissed off if I didn't realise that an hour's delay is absolutely nothing with this band/man. And if that was the case, I'd fuck off home or to the tent. The o2 gigs will make up for it - an arena full of people who aren't expecting/yearning to see a bloke in a leather top hat. RnFnR.

  • @EricakaJaceII You like the old band, but look down on this band for being late? Did it ever cross your mind that it always has been this way? The old band never took the stage on time. Apologized? Axl Rose?? Sounds to me that people like you are better of staying at home listening to Sweet Child (not too loud!!!) while drinking some hot coco. Then hitting the sack at about 8 PM to get a sound 16 hours of sleep. Or try Cirque du Soleil!!

  • @o0Slipdisc0o I was not complaining about the band and how they sounded. Fuck no. I was merely explaining the reasons why some people booed there as I had relatives who really were waiting to see Guns N Roses for the fact that *they liked the fucking band in the first place*. I was not there! I was just sharing other people's experiences to shed some more light into what happened.

  • @o0Slipdisc0o If my relatives, nor I, didn't like loud music then none of us would have gone to festivals in the first place. And i've been to Reading twice and had to miss out this year due to being busy.

The fact that you decided to call others something we're most likely not just due to a change in your opinion proves that you only care about yourself and your own opinions with no consideration of other's views. I pity the 3 people, now 2, who rated your comment up. Tsk, tsk.

  • @Si262 In other words, those people were most likely not booing GnR because of their music. In fact, hell watching this footage it looked like a pretty damn good gig! They were booing because they had to wait so long and not one person truly involved explained or acknowledged why.

  • @Si262 I think its fair enough. He was over an hour late, so they showed him how they felt.

  • @Si262

they were an hour late, wtf do you want us to do?

  • @sh1ft9 they weren't a hour late, what time did Queens of the Stone Age finish their set hot shot? It takes time to set up the stage, it takes GN'R an hour to set up the stage after the previous band, they were booked by Reading knowing this. Reading is the worst fucking festival I've ever been too. Shit sound, shit crowd and shit promoters.
