  • Great version of a favorite song. Wish it was longer. I clicked replay a few more times.

  • violin sheet music to this please???

  • thats the fucking tits

  • were you the original compaoser of this piece? i mean its sounds perfect i have not found alot of covers on youtube that are done as well as this.

  • @ewfmatthew Vince Guaraldi is the composer. I write some things but not quite this good...

  • Made me smile and remember my childhood... I'll never forget this video!

  • This makes me want to put on my Charlie Brown Thanksgiving DVD!

  • Outstanding job, sir, please keep up the great work

  • amazing!!!

  • i think your doing a excellent job on the piano. keep up the good work!

  • Wonderful piece of jazz you just played, just magnificent. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. :)

  • Absolutely beautiful, Bravo!!!!!!

  • NICE!!!

  • This is easily the best version of that score.

  • WOW! this is awesome. You are one great pianist. Thanks for sharing your talents with this wonderful popular piece.

  • i love this song you play the piano realy good!

  • Absolutely awesome.

  • @mattdwill Cool, thanks!

  • You play very well! I always loved this particular piece and wished my piano skills were half as good as yours are. Thank you for this!

    -Peace

  • @Ruth42 Thanks so much!

  • this is deff by far outstanding. I let my daughter listen and watch this clip.. she plays also. you now have 10 yr ol fan..lol she has been playing for 1 yr now.

  • @sixfoot0 Thanks! Hopefully I'll get some more videos up this fall and winter.

  • Nicely done! Guaraldi tunes are tough horses to ride.

  • @billyleesouza Yeah, they're a lot tougher than they sound, especially if you try to include the bass notes which Vince didn't play.

  • Best version of this song I've heard on You Tube!!! Excellent job!

  • @toastichedu Thanks!

  • Never Get Tired Of This GEM !!!!!!!!!!!

  • I've always loved this piece. Enjoyed your version very much. Nicely done!

  • @JamieTateJamieTate Thanks! Glad you liked it.

  • Can you hit a Db - F 10th cleanly? I saw some Fats Waller pieces at a music store and you look like you'd be able to handle them w/ no problem (since you like playing jazz).

  • @rogercallard I can do Db to F pretty good with my left, not so great with my right, as long as the tempo isn't too fast. A lot of the stride piano is pretty crazy with the left hand so I don't know how well I could handle Fats Waller. Tough stuff!

  • Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow three days ago, and warned that winter was here to stay for awhile, and sho 'nuff here in Pittsburgh we're gettin' slammed with snow; so why shouldn't I kick back, relax and enjoy a visit to your site for Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and Christmas - especially since my tree is still up, and I still have leftover turkey in the freezer? Seriously, Chnarles, you aced Vince's arrangement on this. HEY! Woodstock just flew by with the wishbone!!! Five stars, Amigo:)))

  • @bloootube Hey, sorry it's taken me so long to respond. This has got to be one of the best and most entertaining comments anyone has ever left for me! Take care, man.

  • @Chnarles I'm "Chuck"ling as I type because I LOVE a good coincidence. Today was a perfect, sun-kissed autumn day - hardly enough of a breeze to bother the falling leaves as they wafted gently toward the ground - and certainly not enough to disturb those brilliant maple reds and hickory yellows that cover the ground. This morning I thought, "This is INDEED a CHARLIE BROWN DAY," and I thought of this very song!" And now I find you in my inbox! This is OUR season, Chnarles! Enjoy, and THANKS!

  • @bloootube All I can say is that you certainly have a way with words! Here in Flagstaff we mostly have only ponderosa pines so we don't get too many nice fall colors like you do. Although that could soon change, my wife is applying for a job near Lancaster, PA. We may be joining you soon...

  • Awesome fingers and feel for the piece! I'm on amazon right now, please tell me if you could what transcription book this is from, I want to buy it now. Thanks

  • Sorry, it's not available. I'm still working on publishing it. At the moment you can get a pretty good transcription in the Illustrated Peanuts Songbook, available on Amazon and elsewere.

  • Nice...very nice!! David Benoit has nothing on you!!

  • so good

  • its crazy how people discover sounds that are so appealing to hear

  • Christ that was good. Being Thanksgiving an' all-gotta say this was in great tune. Happy Turkey to you and yours!

  • Awesome! this is one of my fav themes ever and you played it flawlessly :)

  • Not quite flawlessly, but close enough!

  • well whatever flaws are there are certainly not noticeable to me :)

  • Yeah, I was sorta hoping that would be the case with most folks...

  • not 2 b repetitive, but u r great!

  • I just put up a video of the Great Pumpkin Waltz, perhaps you'll like that one.

  • I haved always liked this song, and you play it well you have annotated it from the video. that I like. i am a panio player also but can not play it that close Well done!

    ~soft keys~

  • Thanks. I'm planning on putting up two videos from The Great Pumpkin very soon.

  • You play beautifully - if I closed my eyes I would think it was Vince! I have always loved this particular piece although it didn't get the attention it should have on the soundtracks. I have been listening to Vince Guaraldi for years and yours is the best version I've heard! Great job :)

  • Wow, that's quite a compliment! And it's my favorite Guaraldi tune too. Glad you liked it. I'm hoping to do the Great Pumpkin Waltz next month.

  • u r good at this! period. be proud!

  • Thanks man. It's hard for me to get too proud when I compare myself to the master himself...

  • u did it perfectly, without an accompaniment....especially the last 10 secs! thank u!

  • Great cover! This is probably my favorite Guaraldi song, and I'd have to say you pulled it off fantastically! Good work!

  • Wow, thanks for the great comments. I really should get off my duff and work on some more videos. I'm thinking of doing the Great Pumpkin Waltz this fall.

  • Any chance you can share your transcription?

  • I'm trying to work on that. I have to get permission because of the copyright. I have been in contact with Vince's son David Guaraldi and he has put me in contact with someone who can help. Hopefully this can be published but we'll see how it goes.

  • Thanks for the quick reply!

  • Nice. I forgot about this song.

  • man that was amazing , vince is definitely one of my fav composers ever , he's up with the greats in my opinion, keep up the great work

  • wonderful

  • you're awesome!

    I love Vince Guaraldi's songs...

  • Wow, thanks.

  • where do you perform Chris - maybe I'll catch

    you live some day!

  • I'm a stay-at-home dad with two small kids so the only place I perform currently is at home! But if you're ever in Flagstaff you're welcome to drop by and I'll play you a few tunes.

  • beautiful playing - you capture the spirit of Vince.

Is this on a cd somewhere (i.e. your playing of this and other

    Guaraldi pieces?

  • Boy, I wish! Glad you liked it, though.

  • Fantastic...best version of this song I've found on You Tube. Thanks for posting.

  • Thanks for the comment!

  • A noble effort. Great job. Guaraldi's stuff is so worthy of study. If I could play the piano, it would be tops on my list.

  • Thanks. I agree that Vince's music should be studied more. There is a controversy about playing it the way that he did versus improvising. I am more classicaly trained than jazz and am not strong improviser, so I prefer to simply be authentic. If someone is a skilled jazz musician then perhaps they should use improvisation but a lot of people just seem to aimlessly add notes.

  • Some of the best jazz I ever heard was on the Charlie Brown cartoons. You did a great job here. Thanks for the memories.

  • I agree, the music is loved by millions and yet underrated by some just because it was associated with Peanuts. Vince was simply a great jazz player and composer.

  • D'oh! I'm beset by fools!

  • That's a Jogan Jam if I ever heard one!

  • All right wise guy, don't stink up my comment section either!

  • Nice! This is my favorite Guaraldi tune. I transcribed this tune as well last year. I'm surprised you transcribed the solos too!

  • It's my favorite too, and very a underrated tune. Yeah, the solo was a pain to transcribe and even a bigger pain to play!

  • awesome job man!

  • Thanks man, it was a lot of work and I still feel like I'm not quite there. Decided to post it in time for Thanksgiving anyway.
