i love the lyrics of this song. i don't see how people think it has become tainted by cradle of filth's version... they did nothing but change the sound. i personally like the COF version a bit better.. it's just more my style... i'm not saying the origional is bad, because it's not. excelent song.

The original backing singer for H17 was Carol Kenyen who also worked with them again on Temptation 92 remix! She can also been seen in Go West's video " Don't Look Down" .

Yeah, except for the fact that her metal girl voice is wholly incongruent with the biblically-inspired thrust of the song. In the H17 original the female vocal is black/gospel, fitting the lyrical theme. In this performance Claudia Brucken's vocal evokes a sultry Eve, again fitting the lyrical theme. But hey: Who needs thoughtful, clever, subtly layered performances when you can have the distorted utterances of CofF's lead 'singer' augmented by a screeching and yowling teen metal chick?

claudia brucken was the vocalist for 80s electronic band propaganda, had a fantastic solo career & is now working as half of OneTwo with half of OMD. she has one of the most interesting voices in music, but i do admit that her talent was slightly wasted here!
