  • @StellulaCalliope yea, you dont need gloves...i'm optician, i grinded few thousend glasses without gloves.... no need :P

  • @Kevinmwragg gloves for pussies...

  • cool. I might try it!~

  • Hi,

I am new to stained glass and I was wondering if my glass edges are supposed be rough or slightly chipped after running them through my grinder?

    Thanks.

  • Yes, they are supposed to be rough.

  • You are supposed to use diamond wheels to grind glass. Wood working routers are not the same. Glass should also be water or coolant cooled as you grind so you don't overload the diamond.

  • It's a diamond grinding bit. There is water in the grinder reservoir. It's not a wood working router.

  • good advice, though I think overloading the diamond is less important than avoiding the lung disease. Doesn't look like much fun to drag around an oxygen tank at 45.

  • Indeed. The water serves as a coolant, and keeps the dust from going into the air. Rare as it is, I don't wish silicosis on anyone.

  • I'm not sure I'd say 60 thousand people a year in the U.S. alone is rare, but opinions vary.

  • wow.....
