  • One of the best plugs I've see for a TV offering! LOL XD

  • Ah, back in the day when Comedy Central's target audience had seen a Bergman film, let alone heard of him.

  • The one good thing about being poor is how I actually earn money on my taxes.

  • I remember this promo, too! It almost seems like a precursor to the skit they did in "Sword and the Dragon", involving Schlitz beer and piers. lol Joel chilling out in the background is the cherry on top to this ad!

  • Thanks for posting this!!

Still remember that promo from Spring '92.

  • Til mir abøt et.

  • This was the commercial that got me into watching MST3K

  • Trace sounds a bit like Bill Corbett when he says "Tell me about it."

  • Damn Servo kicked ass with his "The hound of death blows his cold breath on my soul"-line

  • They didn't have Comedy Central in my area (Cleveland) back in 1992. The only way I could watch MST3K at the time was by visiting relatives out of town which was usually in Washington D.C. or Nashville.

  • Death and Taxes? Sounds like something a Tea Partier thinks about every day. Oh yes, I went there.

  • The announcer sounds like Lewis Black.

  • @tredwest Nope, even better. Penn Jillette.

  • thanks for the up[load! Sure miss these guys...but they left us with A LOT of timeless material.....

  • I love how Crow pronounces the TH at the end of the word Death'UH.

  • The only three things in life that are guaranteed:

Death, Taxes, and the awesomeness of MST3K

  • 0:40- is it just me or is that Penn Jillette?

  • No, it was Penn.

    Good times...

    <3 :D <3

  • Yeah, would've thought!

    XD

  • the "Death and Taxes" theme is a pretty intellectual idea for a TV network back then... bet u 10 bucks no cable network today would trust their audience to get it today...

    (hope i'm wrong..)

  • @customcartoons It works with the MiSTies, 'cause you kinda have to be pretty knowledgeable to get all the jokes.

  • Black, of course

  • Ha, I forgot Penn Jillette used to do the voice overs for CC!

  • CC also used to be The Comedy Channel, and not Comedy Central :)

  • Many thanks for sharing. I remember living in AZ and being in the military when I saw this hilarious commercial. Great memories.

  • Great to know some of our men and women in the military could appreciate this. I grew up in a base in Korea, so I never knew about this till I started college

  • i've waited years to see this again. thanks for posting it!

  • haha, i love mystery science theatre 3000 :)

  • I love how Joel is just camping out in back.

  • Cool video, Joel (Or is that mike?) Is just standing back there, And that was great. :)

  • Joel.

  • Ok, Thanks for telling me (And uploading! :) )

  • MST3K and Penn Jillette? Comedy Central was way more awesome back in the early 90's.

  • Lol, you gotta love Mst3k... XD

Is that language supposed to sound like swedish, or is it just "rabble"? XD... it sounds more like a parody of German or something. (Jah, I'm a Swede)

  • I'm pretty sure it was supposed to be Swedish (parodying Ingmar Bergman's "The Seventh Seal")

  • I love this TV spot. =)
