@DJMANIYAC dude don't get samsung. Samsungs have tons of power & geometry problems. IT was even on the CBS nightly news, a ton of people have had power problems due to low quality capacitors that samung puts in their products & it usually just so happens to go bad right after the end of the warranty. They also have a lot of problems with the screen shape getting distorted. The picture looks good, & you should be able to assume a name brand is reliable but not always. Good luck with yours tho
i have a HP pc screen. i would like to connect my playstation to it. what are the steps i should take. the pc screen is able to be connected to a HDMI-DVI cable. can you pleese. write the steps simply. i am ver, very rubbish at these things.
@repeteproductions hey man so is that sceptre monitor still working flawlessly? it says you wrote this comment 3 years ago so I'm curious if the monitor has been working the whole time since you got it. thanks
If this is the same monitor i'm looking at on newegg, it 's 1080p with 2000:1 contrast and 2ms response time for right around $240 which reviewers have said is great for xbox 360 and ps3 in 1080p, which is what i mainly want it for. i'll still hook it to my comp too. I have heard some say that the connection ports can be faulty like this guy encountered, but for the price i really think its worth the risk. the specs are better than the kds mentioned below so i wouldn't go with that.
Dunno if you're still looking for a monitor but I've been looking for one for a while now, and I'm going to go with the KDS 22" monitor from newegg. It's only about 250$ with shipping. All the reviews for it have given 5 stars with one con, the stand is a little wobbly but that could easily be fixed with an ergotron arm or something.
In your case i would go for The Dell™ E228WFP widescreen LCD flat panel monitor which is a 22" inch widescreen monitor with a resolution of 1680 x 1050. Im going to buy it myself. the price is just amazing, it costs only about 300$. And of course dell is good quality. Thats just my thoughts, hope you get a new 1 soon :)
yeah and 2 times as expensive! the reason why i didnt buy it was because its maximum resolution wasnt full hd. 1080 i mean, its 1050. another good option would be the new samsung 252 inch which has a 2ms response time! its just shy over three hundred dollars or the21.6 inch for 260 at newegg.
Samsung 226bw is calling my name. Circuit City sells them for 330, but you then you can use samsungs rebate forum. I'm probably going to pick one up tomorrow. Some say you have to look out for the A & S versions. Apparently Samy revised the lcd due to pixel problems. That's what I gathered from Newegg. Theres a site selling the samy for 299, but I don't want to deal with 2 weeks shipping and possibly have to take it back. Worst case scenario.
10x better than the sceptre, hdmi is nice but not so important, dvi input alone should give you a very good hd signal, just look for the right cable adapters.
remember samsung's overall quality outweights any extra input from those cheaper monitors. good luck and keep me posted.
i have 2 sceptre both or not working i dont mean any harm but sceptre is trash get samsung

I'm thinking about Acer AL2216WBD 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Ultra-fast 5ms, WSXGA+ 1680x1050, DVI, VGA, Black, VESA 100mm
or
ViewSonic Optiquest Q20WB - 20" Widescreen LCD Display - 1000:1, 5ms, 1680x1050, DVI

They have a 1080P 24" dell ultrasharp monitor for $600, and way less for the 22" model. I've been on my 24" for a while not and I'm loving it

The Samsung rebate is 20 bones BTW. So Total cost is 310. And you can pick it up same day.
