  • final destination 5....

  • the new bridge has FALLS in its name

  • Wow, I can't believe it has been 4 years already. I remember exactly what I was doing at the time. Still praying for the families!

  • How many people died in this tragedy? I don't remember seeing this on the news.

  • @arianna19742000 8 male 5 female

  • Today i went on a field trip to the new bridge with my summer program group. We saw the pieces of the old bridge that were pulled out of the river and we went to the new bridge. An engineer was talking to us about it. He didnt say what caused the collapse but said that they dont test the bridges to see if they would hold the load of the heavy cars and trucks they design the bridge to uphold with so mant cars.. the new bridge has sensors and can tell them when its gonna collapse.

  • I live in Minnesota, i was devastated to hear of the collapse. At the time i was in Oregon with my older sister and we were so scared. My mom used to work over there and everyday she crossed that bridge. It collapsed around the time she would be going on it. We called her work phone, cell, and our home phone. No answer. Luckily she was not on the bridge but it's sad to think of the families who lost someone to this. Or knows someone affected by the collapse.

  • I hope the people died fast i mean that way they didnt have notice a thing

    peace to the fallen.........

  • i live in minneapolis

  • I currently live in Minesota and I had crossed the bridge JUST BEFORE it collasped. I

    am thankful that I survived...

  • yes im a officially a ghetto vet

i was on the bridge while it collapsed

but peace to the people who died

  • Remember, the bridge was well over 40 years old. It was prone to collapse at any time.

The new bridge, hopefully, will not suffer the same fate

  • yes but remember that the found a fractured gusset plate and that it had no regular check up by MnDot.

  • i..i... i.. i was on the bridge i was a survivor it was horrible i never want to experience that again

  • You...you...you don't have to be so damn dramatic on a comment.

  • You...You...You Dont have to be a total bitch

  • you weren't on the bridge. there was nobody on the bridge. you might've been in the river, but if you were, you would be dead.

  • yes, there were people on the bridge. It was an interstate bridge on a weekday afternoon. Lots of people drive home from work on it. There were a ton of cars in the rubble and in the river after it went down. There was a school bus full of kids on it as well, and thirteen people died.

There WERE people on it, but not necessarily the one being deemed overdramatic.

  • dude shut up i... i.... i... hope so

  • that was horrible

i passed that brige like ten minutes b4 it collapsed!

  • Oh how the media LOVES tragedy. "If tragedy is appealing, then disaster's an addiction"

  • oh my god!! that was horrible, all those people killed. God Bless

  • omg

  • I assume rtcpenguin is just another little geek hiding behind his screen. If he had to speak to people like that in real life he would get mauled, what a pussy.

  • wat the fuck?? its sad and i think it would be horrible if u watched ppl die

  • That is absolutly horrible. Many people were hurt. I was there and just went over the bridge a half an hour before it collapsed. You should grow up, what if it had been you or your family?

  • how is that funny bitch

  • after it collapsed i drove over there and it was horrible. it was all black and some ppl were screaming and there were ambulences everywhere. it was the scariest thing ever

  • omg..i was completely torn when i saw that. i like about 45 minutes away and i have been on that bridge..

  • This was so sad. I remember crying after seeing this. I live in St.Paul, MN, so this had a big impact over here in the cities. :(

  • my grandma lives very close to the bridge and she was on the phone when this happened nd she smelt smoke and heard loud noises...... she goes on that bridge a ton!!!

  • ha ha i was on it when its happend i get 20,000 dollars

  • Prove it?

  • I was 20 minutes away from there when it collapsed =[

  • I was driving home northbound on 35E, and glanced over to my left (westward) and off to a distance, saw this strange smoke cloud over the river. I think maybe a barge or boat caught fire.

  • Get a better security camera I mean come on.

  • They need to be some better security cameras.

  • amero technology!!!

  • I remember seeing this on the news when it happened, and I was shocked, because seriously, how often is it when you hear of a bridge collapse in the modern world?

  • Why is every video of the MN bridge collapse show it already falling rather than the events leading up to it and the collapse? Does anyone have video of the seconds before the collapse?

  • No, I'd doubt it.

  • actually one video does.....look over there where it says related videos and you will see it. It shows cars slowing down and all that
