this is actually i find, one of the games flaws. it''s randomly generated guns... where you may find a white item stronger than a purple item and the white item has a lower lvl requirement.. or your questing with someone, and get a gun from a quest.. one of you will both get a purple, but one is not as good as the other...

The thing is that the game appeals to your choice of guns. If you use the same SMG for a few hours the game is going to generate an improved version of it, for example it will have corrosive damage or the fire rate will be higher. It's got it all. :P
