  • quick question do all maps breed or do you need the same type ??

  • @FreddieMcswaggness not sure, but i would think you can intermingle some of the species with not much problems, but not sure on this, because sliders do it, cant see why maps dont. not sure though

  • HELP NEEDED, MY SMALL SOFT SHELL TURTLE HAS FUNGUS ON ITS SHELL, WATER IS PERFECT GOOD FILTER UVB LIGHT SAND EST, NEED HELP ON HOW TO CURE IT DONT WANT TO LOSE MY LITTLE GUY PLEASE MESSAGE ME!!!!

  • @2012supersophie just follow the general steps in the video, but there may be other things being that you mention it is on the shell, i hear those are cause by scratches of the turtle bumping or rubbing causing small scratched on its soft shell, is there anything in the tank that may cause abrasions to its shell? im not really informed on how to take care of that infection, message me the type of turtle and will gladly look and help you research how to cure your turtle.

  • Okay so how do I make te salt water?and it's safe for it to be completely in it?

  • @TheSCstudios just mix regular salt for aquariums (for saltwater tanks) into a small place with water, i usually cover the botom but not like with a lot of salt, and make sure that the water is above the turtles shell, it should be in there no more than like 2 hours, if you do an all day bath then give them breaks where they bask inbetween the 2 hours, and then put them back in, with clean salt water

  • Ok soo my baby eastern painted turtle has some white discoloration on his back two legs, what I'd it,how can I get rid of it and how can I prevent it?

  • @TheSCstudios keep the water clean and at the right ph is a good thing to do, the steps in the video should work if its fungus, which is just salt water basically and put the turtle to soak for a couple of hours, then on a basking platform to dry COMPLETELY then you can put it back in a small tank that can quickly and easily be disinfected, to clean the quarantine tank every week atleast with soap and water (i use dawn) sooner if no filter on the tank.

  • do you keep it in there for like an hour a day or the whole time? please reply thanks

  • @weezybeatseminem23 an hour everyday should be ok, i think the max i would do for them would be like 8 hours, but you have to change the dip every 1-2 hours, really depends on how you see the turtle doing in the dip, because its pretty painful/irritating to them, but 1 is ok just make sure they dry off!

  • @EcBuddy123 i have a baby red eared slider and it has like skin peeling off or fungus im not sure but it does have skin fungus so are youu sure this will work?

    thanks :)

  • @weezybeatseminem23 well if its puffy, and white, or maybe brown, and maybe has a bit of a nasty smell, it is fungus, if its shed, it should be sorta clear and hang from the place its shedding, stays for a maximum of 2 days, or so, but yeah this should work, theres other teatments too. sorry for my late reply!

  • @EcBuddy123 no problem :) thx

  • @weezybeatseminem23 hope all goes well :)

  • @EcBuddy123 i hope so too :) thank you so much for your help and care

  • @weezybeatseminem23 no problem, anything comes up, like some other problem just comment or p.m

  • my yellow bellied slider has somthing on his skin some white thing i heard it was a type of infection and to not worry but when turtle grows into its new shell would it go

  • @badman88777 i dont understand the question, but any type of infection should be something to worry about. I say take a look at it, take it to the vet or something, make sure its treated right.

  • i need your help!my turtle has a piece a skin ripped off and there is blodd on its neck.

  • @neon9fan is he the only turtle? check it and see if its a minor cut and nothing major, keep him in a lil container with clean water for a few, so u can monitor him and make sure bleeding stops, making him bask a lil will help dry up the blood and heal the wound, then find all the probable cause of its injury and fix them before the turtle goes back in the tank

  • @EcBuddy123 he is the only turtle and i left him in a place to dry and he stoped bleeding but i realize how he got the cut,he got it from his shell.when he pulls his head in it scrapes his neck and i found out without vitamins a trtles shell can get messed up but i pay for everything myself and im eleven years old and i cant afford a filter or a basking lamp.i sit him in the sun twice a day and change his cage like everyday but i need a better way to help my turtle.

  • @neon9fan im sure its not from the shell, if it is then he must have pyramiding, which means he isnt getting the right nutrtion, so some better food might be needed, what do u feed him? also whats in his tank/bin?

  • @EcBuddy123 i feed him worms and pellets and carrots but i never seen him eat a carrot though.but in his tank there isnt that much water because i dont have a log or a good basking area so i put a big rock he can clim on but i had to take some water out so he climb on the rock and be dry

  • @neon9fan ok, make sure the rock isnt the cause, and just watch him closely make sure see what it is

  • a good cure is let her for 1 hour in salt water and then to sit on sun? must i also put iodium?

  • @trobyto sure, as for the iodium thing i think thats another method i never used it but others have and u can try that, im sure it will work, but not salt and iodium together

  • is it normal for a turtle to shed skin becuase my friend said it was normal

  • @jaimetheskater1 yeah its normal for a turtle to shed its skin, like are repltiles do

  • @EcBuddy123 thanx cause i was worried of my turtle and friend was worried about his to

  • @jaimetheskater1 no prob babies tend to shed a lot so it may look like a lot of skin but mostly should be transparent threads or patches

  • thanxs man

  • @jaimetheskater1 no problem anymore questions just ask

  • @EcBuddy123 thanx are selling any baby red ear sliders

  • @jaimetheskater1 no im not but i can tell you were to buy/get some online if your interested

  • @EcBuddy123 what wedsite can i get them at

  • @jaimetheskater1 good place is kingsnake . c o m and turtle source . c o m

  • @EcBuddy123 doesnt turtlesource abusie their animals

  • @jaimetheskater1 no... atleast i don think so ur thinking of turtleshack, put the infront of the website i gave u i forgot that

  • @EcBuddy123 i get confused cause people say turtlesource they abuise animal so ya i will just check king snake

  • @jaimetheskater1 yeah u can just check there theturtlesource also has adds there but ur thinking about turtleshack and turtlesale those two arent the best but they also have turtles

  • yeah, looks like you know what your doing.. i have a 14yr. old RES and I'm having a real hard time finding a basking area strong enough to support her shes huge. i had the same one you have that floats, but she couldnt get up, instead she started nippling on it, lol so i had to throw it out. good luck with the fungus!

  • @sarahhelen84 have u tried making an above basking area? like a box that hangs or is put ontop of the tank so it doesnt sink? yeah thanks

  • hey, just to let you know sand is not good for turtles if they eat it!

  • @sarahhelen84 fear of impactation i know but they usually dont o it on purpose and i have seen them sometimes by acciednt iingest some but nothing that can hurt them, its only if eaten in large amounts, but yeah ur right, but pebbles are worse!

  • skin problems? i thought it's shedding?

as for fungi growth, i found some turtle drops you know?

p/s: won't adding the seasalt to the water turn the freshwater into saltwater?

  • @stingray614 sorta but its not like for 24 hours a day its just a soak of maybe max 4 hours in a quick dip and up to 8 for an all day, but the salt really kills the bacteria, and for the turtles to turn to saltwater i highly doubt it maybe the DTB since it can do both but all animals are made to live in their especifications from birth, plus if u go to a store for some sulfa dip its just salt (the aquarium kind) and for drops idk never seen them, yeah it look like shed but then it gets bubly

  • @EcBuddy123 oh. well, one day i'll make a vid about my stuff. there are drops for them =[ (but i seriously think it's not working lol)

anyway, are there any salts that you might perhaps recommend? thanks.

  • @stingray614 hmm yeah i know theres drops for eye problems which i used before as for the aquarium salt i use the instant ocean salt has a clown fish on the box

  • @EcBuddy123 oh okay. thanks mann. i'll look out for that one if happen to see them. btw, will overdosing anti chlorine harm the turtles?

  • @stingray614 yeah i think overdosing on anything can harm them, and anti chlorine?whats tat for? just do a sulfa dip easiest thing even doe some ppl use iodine (or someting around that name) solutions salt is the easiest to me

  • @EcBuddy123 lol. anti chlorine is what you guys call water conditioner. the liquid used to remove chlorine and chlorimate

  • @stingray614 then i doubt it l0l

  • @EcBuddy123 so overdosing waer conditioner is beter than to underdose?

  • @stingray614 umm i really dont know... but thats y there is google l0l never taught of it u mean like the reptisafe stuff u put in the water?

  • @EcBuddy123 tried to google it. but found no answer =[ yeah, like those repti safe by zoo med :)

  • @stingray614 just try to add the right amount but i doubt it will kill it if ur around the even amount not everything is perfect u know

  • @EcBuddy123 yeah. got the message. thanks man. you've been really really great. you're the best :D

  • @stingray614 yay nice to know i helped! thanks for watching man! and the for the sub! man hope things work out

  • @EcBuddy123 now imma aquarium sea salt hunting :D

  • @stingray614 lmao cool also clean ur tank well every week or so and put a bit of salt in the tank (not alot to make it see water l0l) it helps too and just do the container quaranteen for about 2-4 hours and then after throw out the watr in the container and put them back in under a basking light to dry off

  • @EcBuddy123 haha. yeah. i bought it. put my hatchling RES and my juvenile Map there. gonna make like 2 more vids and i'll start uploading them ;)

    cheers!

  • @stingray614 cool well hope it works out i think i rid myself of it already so good lucK!!

  • thats good man, i can tell speckles has grown!!

  • i cant tell l0l since i see him everyday l0l

  • you have to be careful with that fungi ^_^ clean ur hands dude XD lol awesome video man! and keep up the good work with ur pets, ( cause unlike someone i know) (NINA!) you accualy clean and help ur pets. any who. good gob.

  • lmao yeah i dont just leave then picky my butt without washing my hands lmao! and wat she do now?

  • well now she cleaned the cages... of charlie. now its sonic's turn lol

  • lmao ok

  • Nice vid but a lil to late for humpty :( r.i.p but now if nails gets sick I know what to do now. And the sand looks great does it get sucked into ur filter?

  • yeah sorry but i saw like not one vid on this stuff you know, and grr idk but this cold weather really makes the house cold and now baskers is getting like a lump on his cheek so idk wat it is now i need to see that as well grr!!! and not if u clean it well then only a lil goes into the filter lately things have been good i didnt get much in the filters

  • Awessome dude your tufts are loooking better :D

  • thanks man need to put them to bask now l0l

  • Sand looks great! Cant wait until I do my tank with sand this summer :)

  • yeah its real easy and looks cool and no algea!! l0l

  • i would suggest getting a canister filter, much better circulation great video they are growing fast, hope the turts are ok

  • actually i might just buy a powerhead and another hob filter for the tank for more circulation, since i mean i am trying to save for a larger tank with a giant canister like 40 breeder has the 405 but tanks yeah their pushing 4 inches (bandito) and gw is like 3 inches, and their getting better, hows the tegu?

  • @EcBuddy123 Watch the impeller doesn't start screeching a horrid sound lol. I went through 2 of those in a month :(

  • yeah i saw ur video on this but so far i made sure that the sand was thoroughly cleaned to get rid of all the small flying sand so far 3 days and doing great got of other stuff in it already but not really sand in it l0l

  • actually now that u bring him up i need to get a new vid of him!hes grown like 2-3 inches and is a monster! i use the 405 on my 40 along with a cheap submersible

  • yeah man l0l! cool i hate submersibles the best are the hob and canister filters l0l

  • imo i think that if the hob filter is strong enough rated it could clear up the water just as well as a canister, the only problem is that canisters have better biological filtration

  • thats true for the fact that they have the larger surface area and stuff but yeah i do agree canisters better, and sumps being the best too
