Well I was born in the Philippines and I used to be a Tank Commander on a M1A1 Abrams . Im sure the gunnery standards are not up to par that what Im used to but they have to do with the old British Scorpion light tanks . Well I hope thes Philippines are smart enough to get surplus German Leopard II tanks in my opinion is equivelent to an M1A1 as far as gunner's and commander's control of its weapons systems . @reddevilparatrooper I actually read somewhere that main battle tanks are not very useful in Philippine terrain. I would guess that most Philippine battles occur in the jungle and in small towns in Mindanao.

If the Phil. army needs more muscle I'm willing to live my job and join them when need arise. At sana magbayad tayo ng tamang Tax para makatulong naman sa funding ng AFP. Puro nalang panlalait sa sarili nating militar ang iba dito, pero wala naman silang naiambag kahit piso para maka tulong sa gobyerno. known officially as the First Scout Ranger Regiment, is a Philippine Army Special Operations Command unit, & specializes in anti-guerrilla warfare. The regiment has been boasted as one of the world's best anti-guerrilla fighters.
these troops were used to sent out during the Vietnam war. even USAF would train with them to aquire their techniques.
they may be poor on supplies but not on tactics & skills.

Brand new light armored vehicles can no longer be destroyed by an RPG because of highly sophisticated armors. AFPs armored vehicles can be easily penetrated by a single shot of 7.62mm rifle. It is really obsolete.
Why don't the Philippine government will purchase brand new armored vehicles manufactured from Europe. These are better than American-made vehicles in terms of specifications, price and reliability. We have enough money to purchase brand new vehicles but it went to Generals' pockets

efficient ( in terms of fuel efficiency,time)
cons
being light armored doesnt means it can take any bomb threats
because it has only light armor
