  • самый ёбаный пиздец который я когда либо в жизни видал - ничто с ним не сравнится

    !!!111

  • Control was so bad in this game that I gave up as a kid.

  • @Doommaster1994 Damn, I'm jealous!

  • I want the soundtrack for this game!

  • @jackarse2000 I have it.

  • Such a beautiful game with an awesome ending.

  • Reminds me of PSX game "LSD - Dream Emulator".

  • The visuals and concept was cool for its time, The new Amiga clone pc towers arent bad

  • Doesn't look very free roam to me...

  • It was very hard to play i remember. I give it up and played other games. Think I was into Rick Dangerous around that time, it s long time ago. But the game was in my mind all the time because of the bizarre stuff, so I watched the longplay now. Weak game, but freaky and inovative ideas.

  • It reminded me of Another World, only much more twisted.

  • Amiga music was just awesome :)

  • I think I found Retsupurae's next big hit.

  • The phrase "like nothing you've ever played before" is so over-used; this game actually deserves it though.

  • Why do so many things in this game look like penises?

  • @LuminousPath13

Blame Sigmund Freud for that one.

  • My weird dreams are about 90% the same as this one. This game is inspiring to me. For some reason, my dreams has some deep psychological effect on me that I couldn't explain to anyone about. I guess when any human mind goes into those strange phases of their past childhood and awareness, it could help them to make the best of these ideas, convert them to computer games and spread the knowledge to their fans.

  • MAN! :D

i boggled on the first seconds when this picture appeared ^^'

  • This should be on psn xbox live and wii ware, this looks great!!!

  • loved this game played it allot back in 1991-2 on the Atari ST

  • what a fucked up game

  • The most weird thing on that game was the latency of the controler! xD

  • Intro music on C64 is zillion times better.. actually all the games made initially for C64 and converted to Amiga had much better original music. SID rocks!

  • oh my god this game is fuckin weird, how the hell did i even comeupon this video? haha, creepy shit.

  • Why is everything in the dream trying to kill him?

Maybe it's just a dream about a video game.

    How meta.

  • I remember playing this game when i was a kid, thank you for posting this, I'm glad someone else remembers it.

  • 15:07 What the fuck ?

  • @Subs255 Agreed!

  • que mierda es esta???

  • @Nabito7 Ay ay ay.

  • why are there no games like this any more?

  • Putain le jeu de taré.

Si t'es sous ecstasy, je pense que tu prends ton pied.

  • Large trouts. Found the origin.

  • Remember when i was about 5-6 years old when this game used to give me nightmares... Most fucked up game ever .

  • One of the most lysergik games ever.

  • 3:50 theres a penis shaped tree behind the little girl

  • @shizeninho and she's playing with the ball

  • Is it me, or does it seem that Yes based their entire discography on this game?

  • This is going to sound really weird, but when I was 11 or 12, a kid at a track meet I was at starting singing this song about how you shouldn't listen to your mother to the tune of the song at 2:40. This bizarre memory has stuck with me all my life! What is this song called?

  • @CBoyardee english country garden

  • @CBoyardee Country Gardens. It's a British folk song.

  • I seen this game years ago in this website! I never forgot this fucked up game!

  • drug simulator

  • was that just now a giant...cotton candy...maker?

    holy mother of christ.

  • c64 version is best

  • Psychonauts ain't got shit on Weird Dreams.

  • This game was very hard. I "completed" it on Atari, but I think only thanks to a bug in the game that got me past the little girl whit the ball if I remember correctly. Suddenly the girl was gone and I got the ball.

  • 12:22 I knew we shoudn't have used the toxic waste as stuffing...

  • I loved the clown in the beginning... such a lovely song...

  • I assume the guy was having a bad reaction to the anasthetic. That would explain the weird nightmares. If you lose, it shows him flatlining, which I guess means the bad reaction kills him if you lose. If you win, the demonically grinning surgeon cutting into him must be what he sees when he wakes up in the middle of the operation, still tripping out from the bad anasthesia reaction.

tl;dr, this game is about a bad reaction to anasthesia.

  • @thegameulost That actually happened to my mom once, shit's so real. Worst thing is because of the anaesthetic, you can't really react or cry out even though you feel EVERYTHING.

5:04 OH MY GOD, NIGHTS WHY

Also the desert part has a really good atmosphere to it, pretty damn creepy. And jesus the ending. Still, very well encapsulates the oddity of dreams.

  • @thegameulost

Not quite. It has something to do with the guy (Steve) getting drugged by a coworker he really liked, who was possessed by a banished demon (powerless in a human and wants to torture someone for fun). Steve was taken to a psychologist, who sent Steve to neurosurgeons to get help. They put him under anesthetics to operate on him, but he slips into one (possibly) final nightmare. The girl at the end of the game...that is wild mass guessing as to who she is or if Steve lives.

  • @MagicantNess Maybe then the end scene was about that demon possessing one of the doctors and slicing Steve's throat...

  • @CastChaos

VERY possible, or it could have been his possessed girlfriend who masqueraded as a surgeon the whole time? Obviously something demonic and twisted there. Hopefully poor Steve lived after that whole David Lynch/Twilight Zone episode he had to endure :S

...I think I will return to trying to decipher Eraserhead now, lol

  • I love psychopathic lolis. They make life so much more interesting.

  • this is a very kick ass idea, dreams are incredibly trippy, hell I dreamt once I was pregnant and it was a plot to sneak in a Indian baby who's mom was using me for my pizza discount where I worked, this random craziness that dreams create would be the great subject for a modern FPS or any genre really, I'm surprised no ones done it yet.

  • hmmmm................fury muff.

  • FINALLY i find this game again! I've been looking for it forever, but the only thing i remembered was the first level(because i think it took me several months to pass it) now i know the title, thank you!

I remember this game so clearly because it was the first time i realized what an insane person must see the world like

  • holy shit! i played this as a kid and never got past the roses

  • for some reason i was under the impression this game was unbeatable. i had it for atari st.

  • the wonderful game, full of creativity

  • See the penis plant at 4:20?

  • i loved and hated this game. i loved it because it was so weird but i hated it because it was so horribly designed.

  • Whoa. What the hell did I just watch? Nothing beats footballs eating homicidal girls and slapping people with a fish, I guess.

Also, the music from 5:47 is amazingly haunting.

  • I remember when this first came out, it was used as the basis for a phone-in quiz on a Saturday Morning Kids TV Show (Possibly Motormouth with Neil Buchanan)!

  • Someone should remake this. Tidied up a bit, this would be great on Live Arcade or something.

  • how much time did you play it, until you learn the game ?

I remember we played this on DOS for days, but only think we did is to get the ball from the girl in the garden

  • this game is really... weird O0

  • A game worthy of its title.

  • I would've lost patience with that bloody wasp long before killing it. And god damn, this needs a film adap.

  • @MightyGrape Amen! This would make one hell of a movie. Better yet, I wonder how it'd look as an anime movie--anime effects would make an already surreal game based movie even cooler!

  • PMSL @ Dearh scenes!

  • it sucks

  • At the end, where the guy is on the operating table, WTF is that top left? Looks like a rat on a spike??

And what's that on bottom left, looks like several sea shells in a row or something, not the surgeons arm.

  • Somebody should convert this to Xbox Live Arcade. Call it LS-Dreams.

  • 7:15 goddamn, how many times do you have to wack a fucking bee with a defective purple dildo before it dies?

  • a very difficult game..good memories though

  • amazing artwork! :)

  • This game Is exactly what my dreams are like

  • Man this is so random.

  • bullshit like this is what u get when u have to make a game but have no inspiration or ideas

  • @nephildevil people like you are the reason I hate going to art galleries...

  • @a1rh3add modern art is ugly and degenerate, piss in a pot, make up a lame story and there u got it

    art

  • @nephildevil so i guess you speak for the world and are always right too? If anyones opinion differs from yours they are wrong? You are a fool...

  • @a1rh3add i speak for myself, i dont care what u think about it

  • @nephildevil ok im just saying respect the work it took to make that game. the mirror effects of the house of mirrors alone were top of the line hard to program stuff, and back then you didnt have as many people working on a project like this as you do now.

  • this game was impossible when i was a kid

  • what is this I dont even

  • still crack my pants when i see the football eat that gitl

  • This game gave me weird dreams. Theres definitely something artistic about this game. Acid trip weirdness went into the production of this one I bet!

I just used to watch my old man struggle with this game cos it was too hard for me, I was only about 6 years old haha! Although nothing is as hard as Another World, as far as I can remember! We could never get to the keyboard level!

Thanks for these amazing videos. I mean what other game, has a little girl being eaten alive by a football! CLASS

  • This game was one of the toughest, never beat it. Loved it.

  • Considering those plants are trying to bite his face off his heart rate is remarkably low, or maybe I'm just unfit.

I also only got past the girl like once. I'd always end up throwing it over her head or something and she'd pull out the knife :(

  • Hell, if someone has weird dreams, it´s the main character! :D

  • I can only imagine he died during the operation and went to purgatory/hell. How else could shit like this possibly happen, even in your dreams?

  • I came across the storybooklet which comes together with the game, everything seems much clearer now. *SPOILER ALERT* seems his girlfriend is really a demon-posessed alien who finds a way to pass the demon on to Steve which keeps torturing him almost to death until he lands on an operating table. If you' re able to beat the game you lose the demon, but he just simply jumps over to one of the surgeons who then kills you at the end. I hope I got that sorted out right. :D Shocking story!

  • @omgitsolithegeek So he does die at the end? I thought it was just a last minute thing to scare the player!

  • @Kojain To be honest, you can' t tell for sure if he dies or not just from the ending scene. However, the book tells you a lot about what happens to Steve' s brain after he took the three pills, and from the looks of it he gets scrambled so badly that I believe he would' ve died either way sooner or later. If you don' t have the book you can find it on google or drop me a PM with your e-mail address, I' ll gladly mail it to you.

  • @omgitsolithegeek Actually, I did google it and read all of the chapters. All I got to say is... WTF?! Emily jumped into his mind just to avoid punishment! I wonder if she still got punished after Steve kicked her out however?

  • @Kojain I guess we'll never know for sure, also the story has some flaws which make it only more complicated. In the end Steve might survive as well as end up death. Too bad there isn't a second part of the game. :(

  • Haha, love this, tanks a lot ! I remember I once defeated that girl but didn't know what to do next (didnt know you could move into those bushes).

  • 6:00

    Song name plox?

  • Super Pink Floyd Brothers

  • omg..how i loved this game first on C64 and then amiga....

never got any far though...so nice to see the ending here....

  • I never got out of that bathtub

  • What happens if you don't actually get all those weird orbs that you need at the end?

  • i gotte admit the garden music is very nice! it doens't give me any chills down my spine as long as it plays straight. whoeever createdt he music is pure genius

  • @KirbyY15 The garden music is a midi rendering of Women's Institute classic 'In An English Countery Garden', isn't it?

  • yea i agree. if i ever make it to england i may visit one =D

  • This game was very good for a DOS game in October 1989. VGA and Roland MT-32 sound.

  • The DOS version only used the AdLib card or PC speaker.

  • great idea, best graphics ever.. horrible horrible gameplay. ugh. but thanks for the great vid. now i can finally see what happens after the 3rd screen or so.

  • Did it really have this transition effect between the scenes? First time I saw this on Amiga (it is Amiga, is it not?).

  • @futoku Yeah, it is played on the Amiga and the transition effects are authentic.

  • They sure don't make games like this anymore... ;_;

  • This and untittled story are funny games.

  • This game looks like conceived by Terry Gilliam

  • @ilovenanako2008 fuck you

  • @Poppins no fuck you

  • the girl who played ball hiding a knive behind her back. poor kids who went through that. must 've feared the shit out of them

  • weird dreams? how about ''the worst nightmare ever''

  • Weird Dreams? no shit this is Weird :p

-Great memories, tx for the post!

    -

  • Definetly the wirdest game I've seen o.O

  • What the FUCK is this?

  • I played this game when i was a kid on Atari. Hard as hell, never got passed the flesh-eating roses.

  • really neat visuals

  • This was the game with the very ambitious concept. Anyway, I´ve found to be boring. Today? I´m not sure. I like the concept still, but it´s hard to control the main character and it still seems to be a little bit boring. Of course. I´m older and today I can fully understand the concept behind the game.

  • Hey I just realized something REALLY weird about this game... abbreviate Weird Dreams (WD) and the musician's name, David Whittaker (DW). They both have the same letters.

  • I had nightmares after playing this game, when I was like 8-10, creepy creepy.

Please somebody tell me whats the name of the song on fairground(with the bee) in 1:33?

  • Barry Leitch (Composer of the C64 and DOS version which has the same music just sounds different) said he thought it was called The Daring Young Man on the Flying Trapeze but he wasn't sure. He said it was a traditional fairground piece.

  • @Haloun In case somebody didn't already answer by now, Sobre Las Olas aka Over The Waves.

  • Beautiful game, i love this graphics.

  • doommaster i'll send you a link to where i got mine

  • were do you get this game

  • Ummm..."LSD Dreams" would be a better title.

  • Stupid fish biting me! What did I do to you? Besides use you as a weapon of course. LOL

  • So, in the end, you STILL die. My dreams never end like that; I'm always triumpantly alive after defeating the monster(s).

  • I don't think he died. But I am curious if he really woke up or not.

  • Maybe he was already dead. Kind of like in Carnival of Souls.

  • This game used to give me the creeps when I played it as a kid, I just couldn't comprehend what the hell it was all about.

  • Does anyone know where I can get the MOD file for this game? I am desperate to get it so I can make MP3s of the music.

  • Check the links in our channel FAQ :)

  • I will :) I got the Commodore 64 version and PC version recorded.

  • Okay, but there's no links on where to download MOD files.

  • Because those music titles do not exist in MOD format - to play them you need DeliPlayer

  • I have that but I didn't see any place to download the game's music.

  • In that case rip them yourself with WinUAEs built-in ProWizard :)

  • Well I don't know where a music part of the sites are. I think I just didn't look hard enough.

  • I found the site but it doesn't have music to the game.

  • 12:21 OH GOD WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?!

  • Well, /obviously/ it's a carnivorous roast chicken. Honestly, it's quite.... ummm.... obvious? God this game is bizarre. LOL.

  • Опа, нормально его приходнуло! Штоб меня так пёрло! О_о

  • Okay now I know which person did which port of music for this game: David Whittaker did the Amiga and Atari ST version Barry Leitch did the DOS and C64 version.

  • No tenia ni idea de que iba este juego, graficos buenos, pero poca jugabilidad...

  • Wish there were videos online of when this game was on the TV show "Motormouth", and players would shout over the phone line for some one in the studio to push the right button/ direction.

Anyone remember that ?, ive heard the game was another version that had extra scenes in it.

  • thank god you remembered. yes weird dreams was on motormouth. i can go to bed now.

  • I played this game a long time ago and I've been going crazy to remember the name, thanks so much for providing this vid ^_^

  • WTF is the ending about?

  • i found original amiga /commodore version of this in original packing with manula for 3$

  • In the description: You're wrong, DeathKnight, the music is actually composed by Barry Leitch.

  • Check the Amiga Hall of Light Database - it says David Whittaker :)

  • idk that's just what it said on Barry's site. Also have you seen the DOS version of this game? Looks just like the Amiga version.

  • David Whittaker did indeed compose the music for the Amiga and Atari ST versions of the game. Barry Leitch did the music for the C64 and DOS versions :)

  • The samples used in the music are clearly Whittaker's. Just listen to his other tunes and it is immediately noticeable.

  • GOOD LORD that little girl with the knife at the end scared the crap out of me! LOL

  • I remember loving this game back when I still had the A500 ... though I remember spending considerally longer than 15 minutes trying to complete it :-) thanks for sharing

  • I love the SID sounding chiptunes during the piano stage. Also, those freakin' 2-legged Moai's give me the creeps. O_O

  • This game used to scare the hell out of me when I was younger and after watching this playthrough, well, I can clearly see why. If I'd seen that ending as a child, it probably would have traumatised me.

  • what about nightbreed that was pretty freaky, the guy with snakes for hair chasing you...

  • 2:16 - "Heh. Showed his pointy ass what's what. OH SHI- Time to start running!!!"

  • Herman Serrano: the SALVADOR DALÍ of video game graphics!

  • 2:39: what music is this? I remember this also with the lawnmower game Hovver Bovver on the C64!!

  • I guess zillions of people trying this out on the C64 have never understood WHAT to actually do here ;)

So was I. I just threw it in the trash section of my games shelf because it was just barely understandable ...

  • I'm not the first to say this (UnrealPerson beat me to it), but yeah, similar to Silent Hill. I'd definitely buy a remake on a next-gen console!!!

And thank you for posting the vid. It was fucking awesome!

  • The fuck is with that clown with a knife at the end?

  • I don't think it's a clown. I think it's that creepy smiling girl seen in 3:34 - 4:24

  • The end is scary.
