Funny thing about the curse on Indra- apparently the explicit curse was "your body will be covered by that which you desired so much". So yeah, vajayjay-ed x 1000.
But at Brahma's behest this was apparently alleviated to be a thousand eyes... which actually seems not a curse at all... Unless folks in heaven really liked to poke at people's eyes.

Unlike many people who believe it is a story only written by rishis (well it is but it has also occurred), I (and so should you and everyone else) believe that it has occurred and someone as divine and pure as Shri Ram did descend down on Earth.

I got a little diff perspective than KiranS1920 ; The circumstantial evidence of Ramayan being at least part history is strong. NASA pictures of Ram Setu, a place called Sri Lanka, Rameshwaram, Chitrakoot, etc. Ayodhya, Mathura, Magadha, Mithila, all imply some history. But there will be some artistic license so many things will get exaggerated or neglected hence I'd say while there is a mythological element, there's some historical backing too.
She was apologetic because she felt bad, she was deceived by Indra and her husband was angry and probably felt sad as well. if your spouse had a twin and you kiss the twin by mistake, i bet you would be the same. I know I would, even if I was deceived. and even if she didnt deserve to be punished it happened, it cannot be taen back after it happens. isnt that the lesson? dont act on anger like the sage, you might feel sorry after, but God at the end fixes everything
@huraziel Yes, I believe what you said is true. I might add that these are all divine personalities descended upon the earth to teach many lessons too. It also shows Rams powers of purity and after all who wouldn,t want to get cursed if the outcome was that The Lord Himself was destined to release you? Her husband did her and us a great service...

Whoever is doing the translations is quite amusing. He/She suffers from direct translation issues (which I can relate to very well, English being my third language), and also some modern terms being used and ... let's just say I am having fun reading the translations, thanks :)
