Infinitely Speaking, All Things are Infinitely Possible, Our Imagination/s are Our Gift/s from Creation, therefore "GOD" so to Speak, is Truly Always Within US!
Who wrote this, and how do they "know" all these things? For any of this to make sense at all, I would have to redefine at least three words in every sentence. I thank you for the spirit in which you put this video up, but what about some affirmations that have some grounding in truth? Real demonstrable truth.
@FranklinsLighthouse I find similar difficulty with some New Thought beliefs. Gravity is a law, which works so unfailingly that whether I state I believe in it, claim to disbelieve it, or am alive 30 centuries ago and can't even articulate what gravity is, my behavior constantly proves assent to its influence; but, the Law to which New Thought refers is claimed only to work as we believe it does - and we must believe so strongly as to "know". To me, that's not a law, or true knowing.
@Tigerpaws9097826 New Thought beliefs? Interesting. From what I have seen of this belief system, it seems to be a language game. "How can I say nothing, and make it seem spiritual and important?" Instead of inventing new words, they redefine old words like "God", or "know", or "thought."
@FranklinsLighthouse The only problem with your reasoning is you don't know how language works. You think those words inherently mean something, in this case, the traditional definitions of those words. Words point to something, but they have no inherent meaning. Just as the reflection of the moon isn't the same thing as the actual moon, a word only points to or reflects something.
@FranklinsLighthouse Re: truth, how do you mean? Is not a "prayer" or mantra in any faith system based on just that, faith? Trust in the Divine's willingness to manifest what we are asking for? You may recall that Jesus said "You don't have enough faith," Jesus told them. "I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it would move. Nothing would be impossible."
« I am the Self, seated in the hearts of all creatures. I am the beginning, the middle and the end of all beings....I am the transcendental Om.... There is no being - moving or unmoving - that can exist without Me. »
« He who thus vows his soul to the Supreme Soul, quitting sin, passes unhindered to the endless bliss of unity with Brahma. He ... sees the Life-Soul resident in all things living and all living things in that Life-Soul contained. »
« Let every Brahamana, concentrating his mind, fully recognize in the Self all things, both the real and the unreal, for he who recognizes the universe in the Self, does not give his heart to unrighteousness... The universe rests on the Self; for the Self produces the connection of these embodied (spirits) with actions. »
I got into the New Thought Movement about 5 yrs ago. I read as much as i possibly could. I began to seriously practise it about a year ago. There's no question that it works, and is, in my opinion, based on my experiences, the most enlightening and profound faith, philosophy, and way of life. But, i still, and always will, have questions and challenge the answers. One thing that i always wondered about was why Ernest Holmes only lived to be 73. Given his understanding, this isn't very old. ??
There is nothing I can say that would add any meaning of any value. At this point all I can do is be the love. From me to myself, from you to yourself, From all to one, From the one through all. It's such a wonderfull feeling that my soul leads me to.
@gcrawXII Which one would you prefer I open; "The Cognitive Neurosciences", any of my psychology textbooks, "The Structure of Scientific Theories", "The Philosophy of Science", "The Logic of Scientific Discovery", "The Structure Of Science", any of my "Philosophy of Science" journal volumes, any of my formal logic textbooks, or my collection of philosophy of mind pdfs. I am a sincere student of the mind, please try to argue with me. I honestly enjoy a good discussion on this topic.
Matter is not the presence of God. This would be pantheism. What we call nature is nothing more than the hypnotic mesmerism of mortal mind. It is a counterfeit to the real Spiritual world. Even when we observe beauty in this world, we must not forget that it is just as much illusion as the ugly. Sometimes beautiful, but still error. They are glimpses of Spirit but not the real thing. Anything happening and dependent on two poles is illusion. The game of duality, nothing more.
@alpidistra Yes, in fact Christian Science is understood on a much deeper level by reading the books of Goldsmith. He completely wipes out all traces of dualism by going a step further in his writing. I found it most helpful. Best thing is his teaching that a practitioner treats himself and not the patient. Amazing indeed.
This is a treatment? I didn't know. I listened and watched this last night before I went to sleep and I found it very relaxing. The pictures were beautiful, too. Thanks for posting! I used to read the little Science of Mind magazine sometimes a few years ago, but hadn't thought about it for a while.
This a great video, where can I get more like this?
Thanks so much.
