You are a genius. I was trying to hook up my xbox to my old 1960s marantz speaker system (which doesn't have an optical outlet). My only option was to use hdmi for my video and av cords to hook up the xbox to the speaker system. Before watching this vid I couldn't fit an hdmi cord and an av cord in my xbox. Your technique at breaking the av cord to make it smaller worked great! Even on the old av cords.

Hey youtubers, the best way to go is to get the VGA cable which comes with the RED n WHITE audio connectors from MS. Then get a monitor that has VGA, if not then get a VGA to DVI connector for the DVI port. Then get a 2.1 audio system for sound (Red n WHITE plugs) I recommend logitech z623.

if so what you need to do is buy some computer speakers or use your current computer speakers

the cheap speakers will work but they will sound tinny and crappy if you need good quality sound then you likely want ( mine were$40-$50 australian and good quality with a subwoofer)
