For me when I play slow it's the note is speeding, flying through he air, if I play fast I on the contrary feel that everything is slowing down, and that's the way I listen to Yngwie, everything is reversed; a lot of time when he plays fast a secondary melody comes out of it creating different shapes and colors...

I'm happy to know that someone has finally understood exactly the quality of speed in Yngwie's playing. That's exactly what it is about: when Yngwie plays fast, you can distinguish a specific melody, for ex each 4 notes make like 1 sound, then the whole riff becomes a melody you can listen to and enjoy.

Yeah, I think good players can have a balance of speed and feeling in their playing. When Yngwie actually does slow down, it is fantastic. He just opts for Mach 10 most of the time. As far as Gilmour, "Comfortably Numb" has a solo that just bleeds soul and emotion. Great player.
