  • DeSantis Right Hand - Plain Black - Thumb Break Scabbard (3 Slot) 001BA31Z0 will fit that gun champ! good luck !

  • I've seen one before

  • I like your style of reviews. This is a good gun! It is excellent for home defense.

  • I want a .45 for my first gun, im torn between this, a glock 21 and a heckler & koch usp 45

  • I'm getting my matte black FN Herstal P45 USG tomorrow!!! So Excited!!

  • Nice vid...i am thinking hard about buying an fnp .45

  • Do you carry this on your hip when you go out?

  • @BeetleSales Nope - too big! You could in winter, but in summer it would be much harder to hide.

  • @nashi55 I see. So you aren't a big fan of carrying it openly? Do you have a CCW?

  • @BeetleSales No I wouldn't do that. My goal in having a CC permit is personal protection. Not trying to show off or make others who are no threat feel uncomfortable. Plus some anti-gun people might panic and call the police outta fear or just keep calling them to cause me problems. I have it with me, that is the main goal. I don't gain anything by open carry in my opinion.

  • @nashi55 I completely understand where you're coming from and appreciate your consideration for others. I plan on acquiring my CCW when I turn 21 this November 8th. What gun would you suggest I purchase that'd be proper for concealed carry?

  • @BeetleSales Smaller is better - larger pistols are just harder to hide. Try several at a range if possible. Ruger, Taurus, & Glock offer smaller 9mms I would suggest. I like my G26 but perhaps I'd go with a single stack now that I've owned it awhile. Too me 9mm is best all around for CC. Make sure you get one you can handle well, be accurate with and are comfortable shooting.

  • @nashi55 Thanks for the reply! How much would you suspect I'd be paying for a used Glock 26? I'm looking at spending up to $300 for a used pistol. I have a pawn shop here in KY that has approximately 200 guns to look at :)

    I can't wait until November!!!

  • @BeetleSales Best I can suggest is shop around and don't be in a rush. I haven't looked at prices in a long time, but I'd say $300 is reasonable for a nice used pistol. See what's out there before buying - online & local shops. Try them if you can and go with the one you like shooting best. You may end up with a Walther or Sig after you shoot them. Wander through some guns shows too and see what prices they have.

  • @nashi55 Thank you very much for answering my questions. I appreciate all the detailed input and I'll definitely use it when making my decision :)

  • Great review i just picked up the stainless model today. PS you sound like that man on Family Guy.

  • How much is the 45 and 9mm versions?

  • @DefendTheHouseZ Don't know - haven't looked in a long time.

  • @DefendTheHouseZ You can find both for around 550 , I got two FDE 9mm for 398/each from a gun overstocked but usually you can find either 9/45 between 500-600. My roommate has this identical 45 and the 9mm version. They're both phenomenal guns.

  • I bought this gun in matte black yesterday.

    Darn waiting period...

O well, it gives me time to gather money for some ammo!!!

  • 2 people were shot by a fnp 45

  • @ExpireFaZe uhhhh wrong..2 people were shot by a gun...makes and models dont matter when a psycho is behind the trigger

  • @SirSmok3Alot225 i was talking about the dislikes. it was a joke talking about that the 2 people who disliked it were shot by a fnp 45

  • I'm getting an USG model This weekend. These are really nice guns. Thanks for the great video. By the way, why do some people always have to post negative comments on good videos? Guess they need to make themselves feel better. Grow up and shut your cake holes!

  • ahh...uhhhh at 5:31...mmmhhmm? Sounds dry overall definitely put some lubricant/protective coating on that. Good handgun just wouldn't carry it with the +1 in the chamber. The firing pin does not break into separate pieces like on a M9 Beretta.

  • C-... Cleveland?!

  • could you maybe get a wolf barrel conversion for the fnp-45?

  • @LiftedElephant Don't know...never looked into it.

  • Obvious bb gun, pathetic

  • @PurpleSkyz Yes - it shoots 45 caliber BBs!!!

  • @PurpleSkyz <------ obvious faggot who cant afford a firearm and his mom wont let him have it so he trolls REAL gun owners

  • @PurpleSkyz how is it fake hes got a video of him shooting it? fucking trolls

  • @thegotammochannel Well I guess he missed the part of having a case & owners manual, the entire take down process that shows the 45acp barrel & internals of the pistol - plus the other vids show me shooting it. Oh wait - he says he's french so that explains it. I wouldn't worry about him..........

  • @nashi55 Yea man. Hey besides the price point what the difference between the fn45 and the fnp45? Just the regular configuration not the tactical models.

  • @thegotammochannel Don't really remember - used to know all the differences. Seems like the tactical models had 15 rds and a manual safety but I'm going by memory. Mine is the standard model so it's 14 and no manual safety. I didn't want the tactical model....

  • @nashi55 yeah the FNP you have is a basic model. The newer ones come with 2-14 rd. and 1-15rd. mag, front slide serrations, manual safety, holster and mag pouch. I have the basic model on the way, got it at a real decent price. Hope I like this better than the glock.

  • @sunandmoon111 its just the USG model, he has the regular model, u can pick either one but they are both new

  • @PurpleSkyz Like you could tell the difference.

Either add to the adult discussion of the FNh FNP-45 or don't post at all. Don't make me block you........

  • @PurpleSkyz <------ haha..dumbass doesnt even own an airsoft gun more than likely

  • @PurpleSkyz Lol fail you dumb fucker...

  • I recently got a chance to fire one of these. Ireally liked this gun. I personally would prefer my G21 mostly because like u said the trigger on this FN does have some play back & forth. but you can't beat that 15 round mag of this. Good review, thanks.

  • thanks for the video. I'm looking at (and i know most wont recommend but im going to anyway) getting this for CC. i'm having a hard time deciding between this or the glock 21. what would be you're personal preference? i like that glocks sit low in the hand, but these FN's are really nice looking. the height and trigger pull are my only concerns with the FN.

  • @Jarhead484 I prefer the FNs....nice overall feel and the trigger is smooth and even to me. Both are very nice pistols. Try them back to back if possible before deciding. CC will be hard but not impossible...it IS a large pistol. In the summer months you'll find it a challenge to conceal.

  • If you close your eyes and imagine your watching Family Guy, you can hear Cleveland doing a gun review.

    Good review, I've ordered mine.

  • Excellent review! Thanks Nashi.

  • @Patriot36 Glad you liked it - thanks!

  • @nashi55 i noticed yours doesn't have slide serrations on the front of the slide. i like that because, i've seen other videos of the stainless models that have serrations on the front, and they don't look as clean as yours does. which model is yours?

  • @PinoyYounGster9deuce I believe it's a 47915 - matte stainless, 14 rds. w/o manual safety.

  • @nashi55 so yours is not a USG model?

  • @godzilla74114 No - it's not a USG......

  • @PinoyYounGster9deuce the front slide serrations are on the USG model.

  • enjoyed the review; bought a consignment fnp-45 that has the dark earth frame, 2 x 14 round mags, 1 x 15 round mags, bladetech holster, bladetech magazine pouch, and yellow polymer training barrel; the original owner only put a few rounds thru it and didn't like it compared to his Glock 21; I find it to be a good handgun overall...just a bit large; I had a few FTF's during my first 300 rounds thru it

  • @kmrcstintn MIne only likes new ammo - no cheap reloads. Overall I'm very pleased.

  • I adjusted the rear sight on my FNP 45 and it groups on bullseye now. This pistol is a joy to operate as the the recoil is much lighter and allows me to get back on target very fast. This is a LARGE gun, not a good choice for CCW, but a pure joy to shoot. OWN ONE SOON, you'll be very satisfied with the FNP-45 !

  • Great review, I've watched it many times because I really want this rig.

  • @semiautoriflelover Wow...nice to hear that it's worth watching more than once. Thanks...

  • Why don't you have a sheet on your matress?

  • @DreamsInDisguise It's not a mattress.....

  • @DreamsInDisguise i have a 22 under my unsheet matress...

  • I got my new FNP 45 last week. It shoots well but it groups shots nicely to the left. I'll have to adjust the sights, grumble gruble. I still like my Glock 30 for great accuracy.

  • well done

  • im interested to buy this gun. but im doubting between this one and the sig sauer p220.

because ive to import it (europe) price for both guns will be arround the 2400 dollar.

what would you suggest? and can you tell me more about the trigger? when you squeeze in S/A, do you feel a ''stop'' and that it fires after the stop.

    thanks!

  • @dirites No experience with Sigs, so I can't say much about their pistols. I have been very pleased with the FNPs have. Me? - I'd take the FNP.

No there is no stop - it just go back smoothly then fires. It's a nice SA trigger pull - not heavy but consistant.

  • flat dark earth for the win!

  • im lovong this gun man thanks for the video......really looking forward for a range update.

  • @that818ghost What type of info are you looking for? Just how it performs? I have a few vids where I shoot it already.

  • Do these models hold the 30 round clip.i was looking to trade my 40 in for one??

  • @locsta06 Not that I have ever heard of.

  • dats mii next 1

  • I carry a Full Size Kimber 1911 and This this pistol just seems to be calling to be added to my collection. I held it a long time ago and it felt huge but at the time I wasn't considering carrying my Fullsize 1911. In my MTAC I have no issues with my fullsize 1911. I'm glad you showed the FNP 9 as it is also holding me up from getting it because it seems better for concealability. I may get the FNP 40 the get the best of both.

  • very good review! only 1 critique, to NOT bring the gun that close when holding it 1 hand in indoor light. you cant really see it better, its kinda blurry. if you were outside, possibly. keep em coming & thanks.

  • @TheDogRomeo Yeah, I try to remember closer isn't always better! I try to test it to find out what is the best distance - I don't always get it right though! Thanks!

  • do you have large hands or is the pistol thinner than most 45 double stack? Most double stacks 45 grips are a brick.

  • @rabbiteh Just average. Yes it's fairly thick, but I don't have any issue holding it.

  • @rabbiteh You need pretty big paws... 14 & 15 rnd mags make this a big mag well. I have really big hands and love the feel my FNP-45.

  • So this pistol has a 14 45 ACP rounds magazine? Is it true that there are 15 rounds magazines available for it?

  • @StiviGun1 Another version has 15, I believe the magazine base is extended to hold one more rd.

  • @nashi55 Yeah, this pistol has a very high capacity magazine for a 45 ACP chambered gun. But does this affects its weight? Is it heavier than a USP 45 or than other 45 ACP chambered pistols? Is it as reliable as the USP 45? Is it as accurate as the USP 45?

  • Is that a decocker/safety or just a decocker.

  • @lquim1231 Decocker only, there isn't a separate manual safety.

  • Thanks for the review. Former military here, but not much experience with handguns, so this helped. So far the FNP-45 USG is what I'm leaning towards.

  • Best gun review I've seen on youtube.

  • i love FN, but fuck the .45

  • Hey Nashi, I understand now. If the safety doesn't get in the way (ie hit on the safety by accident when drawing) then I would be fine with it. It's just something extra. Plus I just found out that the USG ones have a front seration on the slide. It's all just minor details.

  • Please forgive my negligence, but what exactly would be a manual safety. If it's hard to explain you can just give me an example of another pistol that has one and I'll google it.

  • @dcpinner It's just that - a safety that you must release before firing. It's mounted on the rear so you can operate it with your thumb. The ruger sr-9 also has one for example. Too me the DA/SA fnp-45 does not need it. But some may want to carry a pistol with a rd in the chamber and the hammer cocked - you'd have the safety on then. I wouldn't carry it that way, so I didn't feel the need for it. Just my opinion of course.....

  • I was looking at their catalog and I was curious to know the difference b/w this and a USG version?

  • @dcpinner Seems like the USG has a manual safety....I'm going by memory. I didn't want that so I picked this model. I liked the SS and black combo the best too.

  • @dcpinner The USG has a manual safety and front cocking grooves, thats about it.

  • Comment removed

  • nazi55 lol

  • I'm split between an FNP-45, a Beretta 92FS, Taurus PT92, or a USP. Any ideas here?

  • @mikeb1444 Don't know much about the others, but I have been pleased with the FNP-45. I would buy another FN Herstal product without hestitation.

  • @nashi55

I'll probably get this gun. 15, 9mm rounds in a Beretta, or 14 .45ACP in this gun, with the same benefits as the Beretta. Sense points me this way, but the open slide on the Beretta has me going that way.

  • @nashi55 Is this double action/ how is the trigger on it? It's looking like this is going to be my next .45 for sure.

  • @RedneckAsian Yes it's DA/SA. Trigger pull is great too me...light in SA but still not bad at all in DA. Much better than the Sigma I borrowed - way to stiff.

  • @RedneckAsian shoot it get use to it and you'll love it. Trigger pull is very good light but not to light very predictable.

  • thank you, im a lefty and i have been lookin 4 a good .45, i have read alot of good reviews on this gun, but seeing how easy it is to breakdown to clean, and how nice it actually looked, im sold

  • I just got one today. Havent shot it yet but I love it!!!

  • i got the FNP-40 i love it. bot were can i get night sites

  • is that NOT the FNX?

  • @dbi1036 Nope, this is the FNP. The FNX is quite similar, but I believe it's an updated model of the FNP line.

  • Why did they make the magazine release on the FNP 45 ambidextrous, but not on the FNP 9, 40 and 357, which is reversible?

  • i bought the bi-tone with manual safety (USG model) Cost me 685.00 usd after tax. other places Ive been want 700 or more before tax. Great gun and quality. what sold me was the manual safety, ambidextrous controls, high capacity and looks. My first gun. very excited :)

  • Prices have gone up quite a bit on these guns. Im not sure about the newer FNX line. But was at the shop the other day, and the FNP 40 is going for over 600 new now. I paid like $485 in mid 2008 when they first came out. 3 mags, nice case. Was a steal. Its just the way things are, prices high everywhere for guns. I don't shoot as much i was due to ammo availability and prices. Get out once a week anymore if that.

  • I got the early FNP40. My mag is super shiney, its the only thing i dont care for. But it deosnt really matter in day to day carry. That sort of thing would matter for seals or something.

  • nice gun....

  • I love mine.

  • I have held the fnp both 9mm and 45 acp. The fnp 45 is one of handguns I'm choosing to be my first pistol. While holding the 45 I noticed the slide stop catch on the right wouldn't release. Is it one of those things for a gun to break in to do? What are some other good starter pistols?

  • @OKeefe73 I had the same problem with my buddy's. it wore down and became easier. my first pistol was sig p250 .40 very similar only double action only tigger with a long trigger pull and the magazine release is on the left side of the gun and hard to change other than that its a great gun. well worth the money

  • Good review. I have the same gun, and I shot a couple of USPSA competitions with it. It didn't like LSWC, but it's taken everything else I have tried. Recoil is manageable. The slide release is not bad I think and I didn't have any problems during fast reloads in USPSA. It is much easier to relase with a loaded magazine than with empty or no magazine. This package is good for anyone who want to get started with USPSA/IDPA (or the 9 or 40 cal.)

  • hey that gun looks nice my uncle is going to take me to the shooting range to shoot his fnh fnp 45 for the first time

  • great video, I was just wondering how well the slide release works, it looks kind of small. All the shooting videos I see they just rack the slide in stead of using the slide release.

  • @misoharny It is VERY small and thin. Using it isn't easy due to the tension on it when the slide is locked back. It is best to pull the slide back when reloading to me. When cleaning it I do use the release then, but I usually pull back on the slide to release some tension. I just ease the slide forward then. My fnp-9 has a better release - larger and shaped better.

  • how much was it????american money

  • @AceOfSpadez412

I think they are going for $650-700 now. Haven't at prices in a year. I'm sure it varies.

  • $689 at my local shop.

  • @nashi55 I have seen the FNP-45 for $600.

  • @frankgon4 Yeah, I was going by what others had told me. I didn't search prices when I posted. Seems to vary a lot......

  • @AceOfSpadez412 I picked up the Shooters Pack which includes a holster, 14 round mags and a magazine holster for $510 from a small dealer near me. He found one on wholesale while I was there and I snagged it, doesn't arrive till later this week though.

  • its beautiful.

I would like to own on. but I live in europe and its not allowd to own an pistol unleas your a competetiv marksman or a policman/army..

    -_-

for civilans only shoutguns and bolt action rifles are allowd if you have a hunting licens.. "/

  • @stesta90 depends on where in europe you are... different laws in different countries.

  • @OvertOperations

cool, wich country can you carry an handgun in public?

  • @stesta90 Ah, but before you wrote you couldn't own a handgun in Europe, that's what I was responding to. You didn't say anything about carrying it in public (which in most US states you can't do either).

In my country you can own semi-automatic pistols, rifles and shotguns. The licenses are expensive, though. And no concealed carrying.

  • Im sure its an excellent weapon, I just couldnt see myself carrying it though. The grip felt too much like a Sigma which I just hated. (my last gun) the capacity is nice, to date the highest Ive found. 4.5'' at the barrel is too much, ideally I go 4'' and that 1/2 inch means alot too. Plus...32oz....yikes i may as well strap an anvil to my belt. XD for me.

  • Seems like it was closer to six...$629? Of course that was a year ago.

  • sweet piece

  • fnp45...thats gonna be my next gun. thanks for the review. which model can be carried cocked and locked? what video camera are you using?...pictures so clear.

  • @adrianrubi You'll like it a lot. If they still offer it, the USG model had a manual safety. Mine does not.

    Cannon Power Shot SD1100IS

  • Nice review but can you answer a few questions, what would the MRSP be on that gun & can it be carried in a cocked & locked mode like a 1911 pistol can ? again please post your answers to these & thanks for the great review.

  • Thanks! I don't know what they are selling for now, but gunbroker or impactguns will have prices. Local gun shops near you should have them too.

Yes, you could, but mine does not have a manual safety. I would carry it with hammer down. The longer trigger pull would help keep things safer to me.

  • Your welcome.

  • Great job on this review! Keep up the informative work.

  • @bigoz7 Thanks!

  • nice job on the video.

  • good video. one of the deciding factors in why i purchased a USG model with the shooters pack. absolutely love the sidearm. i primarily run steel case WOLF 230gr FMJ through it and the FNP45 eats up without issue! (i've got some alum Blazer and Rem JHP that i will be trying next time out).

regarding the "slide release", i have been reading alot on FNforums about FNH saying it is not a "slide release" but in fact a slide stop only. kind of lame since it is marketed as a slide release.

  • ran out of text....

i wish an aftermarket company would make a "slide stop", with a little bit more surface area, so it can in fact be an easy to use "slide release".

other then that, love the gun, love the size, love the recoil.

  • Not really suppose to use a slide lock as a reloading tool. Most savy combat personnel grab the slide with off hand, pull back and release. This is very fast and easier to accomplish under stress.

  • @blueyelicker I refer to it as the slide release since that's what FN Herstal calls it in the manual. I'd agree, reloading is best done with pulling the slide back and releasing. it. It is pretty small control, and best used for handling like cleaning.

  • depends on the pistol, Kahr arms recommends using the slide stop instead of slingshotting it.

  • @blueyelicker i agree fine motor skills dont work like they should when you need them the most combat or a stressful environment

  • @blueyelicker Easier then hitting the slide release with the thumb? I usually slide-pull because its easier on the actual weapon, but I'm sure in a SHTF situation I'd just hit the slide release.

  • @lukystryk I refer to it as the slide release since that's what FN Herstal calls it in the manual. I'd agree, reloading is best done with pulling the slide back and releasing. it. It is pretty small, and best used for handling like cleaning.

  • hey that gun is so awesome in new years my uncle let me shoot it it has a great feel and he also has a .45 springfield

  • How are the mag release and slide release controls? Are they as stiff as they say?

  • @lksteve Mag release is pretty standard, not worse than any other pistol I own or tried. The slide release is very small & flat so it's more difficult to use if you want to release without pulling back on the slide a bit to reduce some pressure. .It can be released but it's harder. The FNP-9 design is a bit better to me.

  • I got my FNP .45 a couple weeks ago. Fav handgun evar.

  • I have been wanting one these for a long time. I plan to pull the trigger(pun intended) on one with my next bonus. I am getting the FNP-45 USG in Dark Earth. Can't wait!!!!!

  • nice vid thx !

  • how many rounds is the break-in period on the FNP 45?

  • Nothing specific is listed in the manual. Just clean it before initial use. That's it.

  • FNP-9 doens't have ambidextrious slide release

  • I meant to say all FNP-45s. I added an annotation to clarify it. I didn't realize I hadn't said it right and it needed to be clarified. Thanks.

  • You sound like cleaveland from family guy. Not that means anything :)

    Good review.

  • Very nice pistol for the money!

I found it at SniperCountryPX for $609,

I've been wanting a .45 for a long time and once I get a chance to shoot one of these FNs if it shoots as good as my Steyr, that's the one I'll buy!

  • Thanks for the review! I am a lefty and have been looking for something safe, powerful, and left-hand comfortable - needless to say, I have fallen in love with the FNP 45! M&P and XD are too light on safeties for my house, also not so ambi - though operable. And H&K - more like H$K - is pricey but not 'that much' better for what I am looking for. FN has filled every need with this firearm, and far exceeds the ambidextrosity I have found in almost every other brand. Competetive price too!

  • Of the three pistols I have it's actually my favorite to shoot. You'll love it.

  • LoL! I just realized that you sound like that guy from Family guy. The gay one with the mustache and the earing. No offense. I just got a good chuckle form that realization.

  • The grip is so long. I guess that's the sacrafice for the 14, and new 15 round mags in .45 they make.

  • Hey Nashi55, question for ya. I really like the 45's and looking to get one. Are you able to attach a laser sight to this gun?

  • It has a standard rail, so most any light or laser should fit. It looks like it is set up to handle standard accessories. Maybe some one else that has added one can confirm.

  • IMHO, the grip is a little to aggressive bare. with gloves is great.

  • Yep, it certainly has a texture too it!! It helps you hold it better to me. For comparison the FNP-9 is a little too smooth, not much texture too it at all.

  • FNP 45 I think holds the most ammo in the .45 caliber. Most .45's hold between 10-13 rounds in the polymer framed pistols. So 14+1 is very good for a .45. I love the ambedextris controls on it since I'm a lefty. I love guns that are accomodating to the lefties out there. Not only that but it makes a better tatical weapon also. Your strong arm at times in a firefight can be injured and out of commission. Which means you have to shoot and operated in you weak arm.

  • The Blade Tech kit in the shooters pack is a nice combo for the gun. I would like to ship it back to FNH to have nite sites installed as soon as i get another FNP 45 for backuP. Freds discount sells a $5 laser light with 9 led lites that can be mounted in a weaver 22 scopering with a 5 eigths inch foot for the picatiney rail on the FNP It is easy to make two laser lights for less than $25 for this pistol that simply screws on and off and stays accurate.Just put some blue Loc tite on screws.

  • Just wondering, if you have trijicon nite sites, why would you mess with a laser or flashlight.

The way I look at a pistol is something that you would want to use in night time in home defense. You should know the environment and weapon good enough not to even need the nite sites, but the laser and or flashlight are like beacons to be shot at.

I think lights on rifles are stupid too. Go with some kind of night vision gogs or optics on a rifle for outside, but a red dot should do it inside.

  • You can easily make out the outline of a person in the dark, but knowing who and what you're shooting is really the key here. That's where the light works.

What if you shoot a family member by mistake? A light does a few things- lets you see your target, stops you from tripping over a rug or knocking into chairs, and good ones can actually work to "blind" or disorientate; not to mention most criminals would flee the moment they saw the light.

As for lasers- I really don't see the point.

  • because seeing your sights is great, but worthless if you cant see your target

that applies to a light, not a laser

  • Narrator in this vid reminds me of Kenny Powers.

  • The HBO show guy? Why?

  • Not sure, maybe the accent in some parts (hope you didn't take offense).

I have an FN. 40 and love it. Wish I had something a little more compact for concealment though.

  • Check out my review of the Glock 26. It'll fill that role for ya.

  • I have a 26.. small enough for cargo pockets for sure.. but if you put a factory 12 rd mag in it, it's as big as you want for full hand control.. but I can shoot with 'pinkie under' and it doesn't seem to make much difference in accuracy..

  • OH BTW I Forgot to post earlier.Heheheh I turned 55 in May 09.

  • No...I was just confused!

  • Thank you. That was an excellent review.
