usually when people complain about bad color with their rummies, it can be solved easily. Add More rummies. Their stress level will diminish as their numbers increase.
They could well be False Rummynose or there could be another reason for their lack of colour, although it sounds like you have perfect tank mates for Rummynose and your water is good. Hmmmm..You could always try buying a couple more from different fish store just for a colour comparison? Thanks
i think i have false rummynose tetras, because their heads are a dim red, and i did several water tests, and it came out okay. i have 4 of them with 6 cardinal tetras, 4 lemon tetras, a bushynose pleco, 3 pepper corys, and 2 female guppies
Absolutely LOVE your tank setup and your fish. I actually just got some red minor serpae tetra yesterday and two catfish. Cant remember what the name of the catfish they are, but they dont get bigger than an inch.
@CheeseUhh@CheeseUhh Thanks for the kind comments. Maybe your catfish is an Otocinclus? Small, fairly dark in colour and always on the go, loves courgette or in your country Zuchini ;-). Thanks!
Nice fish , one question right now i have 8 rummynose but they look very stressed, they have around 2 months in an aquarium like yours , but they looks pale and always keep hiding behind the plants ,, any suggestion for have relax fish?(sorry my english)
@juanjesuschong Thanks for the question, my rummynose only share their tank with other species of Tetra so all fish in the tank are of the same size, so no one is doing any bullying. This could be the reason for their good colour. If I put my hands in the tank and move stuff around they soon get stressed and go pale. Are your's sharing a tank with larger species? are your water parameters ok?
@hotmadras Thanks for answer so fast, actually yes , i have only 1 ram , 1 ottos, i cardinal and 1 mollie, the water is ph 7 planted, it´s strange because in the other tank 60 lts they have a shinny nose ,but when i move they came pale , they have good appetite , so i don understand thanks
@juanjesuschong Very strange, could there be another cause of stress, for example is the tank located near door that is constantly banging shut? is there lots of movement outside the tank. Mine get spooked quite easily???
@Pop12646Okami Thanks for the comment. To be honest I've never noticed that any of the fish have Scoliosis, one of the Rummy-nose does have a deeper belly than the other. I've had another look in the tank this morning and they all look normal. What time in the video can you see this? Thanks
@Skyecloud100 - Thanks for the comment. I think a lack of stress is a major reason for their great colour, I'm sure it helps that all the other inhabitants are of the same size or smaller.

hi, great tank!
However those tetras look more like firehead tetras (Hemigrammus bleheri). Nice fish whatsoever :)

@hotmadras Your welcome! Just searched Otocinclus Catfish but those aren't them. Their mostly clearish but they have a little black pattern on them.

Is there a fish in there with scoliosis? I saw one fish that looked like it had a crooked spine..

@hotmadras Ah, I made a mistake. I think it was a fish's distorted reflection on the glass.
Either that, or I need glasses.
