  • But wait, what if the kids wanna play with the label?

  • @Amyyyy10 lolz

  • or you can get clip art from the computer and stick that on the box or bin, cars, dinosaurs, balls etc..

  • suggestion: Be ready with your container everytime theres a set of new toys. expensive. even cheap. junky toys should be stored separately. ex.Mixing all the different sets of blocks in one container is not good! young kids will get frustrated if they cant find the rest of the pieces...and hard to clean up too!

  • My mother always told me that a ghost lives in my room and this ghost learns from me. If I was a good boy the ghost would hide himself and would be good, too. But if I was a bad boy the ghost would show his wicked face and would bring me to his home.

    Well, I was traumatized

    THANKS MOMMAA ::D

  • I hope you use velcro on the toys on the containers if it was a long term solution so the kids could actually play with all of the toys...what if they really wanted that hammer?! I like the picture idea for the containers better.

  • you're right about the hammer. The kid might rip the container just to get that hammer!

  • so true..

we have 4 kids and it is a lot of toys!!!

but with this system no broken bones;-)

  • Playing games seems to work for the younger kids, but, invite someone over, one of your kids friends, i know that when i have company i dont want ppl to think im a slob. that really works for older kids and even adults, the prospect of company far out ways the cash or cards for ppl not able to hand out 50 buck a week to their kids!!!

  • or you can take a picture of all the toys that are supposed to go in the bin and tape the picture to the front of the bin soo the kids who cant read will just look at the pic and know what goes in the basket (simple)

  • @beanielover10 I agree. I like that solution too, but I didn't have enough forethought to pull it together for the video shoot.

  • whhat if the kids want to play with the toys that are labeling the conntainer?

  • @Amyyyy10 I would take a picture of the toy and tape it there so you could take it down. =)

  • @Amyyyy10 You could use hard plastic containers and use a zip-tie line to secure the toy. You may need to drill a hole in some toys, like blocks, in order to get a zip-tie through them. But once they are secured there is no way to get the toys off (this method was used this a day-care I worked for-- 15-two-year-old and two years later they were still secure.) :-D

  • @Amyyyy10 My sister has a similar method and she printed out a picture of the toy on the front of each drawer. Works great!

  • well i have a 5 year old boy and a 12 year old girl the thing is they have so much clutter, and they are allways complaining when they have to clean their room does anyone have any ideas to kind of make tiding their room a lot more quiker and a bit fun ? If you do comment that would reall help :)

  • heres one idea ok if there is dirty clothes the could play basetball

  • since i am a 12 year old girl, and i have to clean my room every week, i know what kinda gets me to want to clean it up. well first of all, i have this plastic drawer from target that i keep some of my clothes and things in. you could get one in a fun color, i don't know maybe that would help. also, maybe you could reward your children with something if they clean their room. i don't know i am just trying to help out so ya! hope it kinda helped!

  • make it race? who can clean there room the fastest, the cleanest, etc..offer rewards like a gift card or they get to pick what type of family event to do on a weekend. :)

  • hahah my mom do this with me and my sis:P

  • Younger children love a game. I'd say, "Pick up all the cars and trucks. Go!" They'd race each other to pick up the most toys. Or I'd say, "Put away all the red toys!" and they giggled while racing each other. They seemed to enjoy it and it worked like a charm. I didn't do it every time, mainly when there were too toys out.

  • cool idea

  • Rotating the toys is a great idea. As a mother of a 2-year old, I was planning on doing the same thing before I saw this video. Thanks!

  • Thanks for the ideal.

  • What i have done that has helped my daughters keep their room clean is i had them pick out seven outfits to wear for a month and store up all clothes for next month when they'll be able to pick another seven outfits to wear and donate the previous outfits. And if they outgrow them i will donate them. I just know this has helped them keep the rooms clean.

  • I did the same with my girls clothing. they had too much and would leave it laying on there beds and finally I just told them they would just need seven outfits of their choosing and now their room stays clean. Next month they can go through their stored clothes and donate the previous outfits.

  • this really works! my kids get so excited when it's time to pull out the rotation!

  • take a picture of the toy and tape it to the toy bin, box so the child knows what toy goes into the bin, instead of taping the toy to it, it works a lot easier

  • Good idea...I'm going to watch all your videos now!! Can you do one for baby clothes? I've been given so many and different sizes too. I got no system what do you think?

  • wow!

    I never thought of that.

how did you get so good at organizing?
