You videos are so inspirational as everyone says. I wish i could get to your level problem i have is transferring beats in my head and that i can beatbox to my fingers. I wish you had some tutorial videos showing some tips and tricks. I just need to learn new patterns and stuff but am not sure where to learn them.
You are a master at what you do.. Very impressive. I am on the fringe of purchasing a Roland DR880 or Native Instruments Maschine. Can't decide on which though.. But thanks for putting out Vid's like this brother.
you should get reason drumkits 2.0 man, that would take u to a higher level (if u haven't gotten it by now). question: HOW DO I GET TO THIS LEVEL? I am a guitarist not a drum. second question: DO YOU USE GM KEY MAPPING OR DID YOU CUSTOMIZE WHERE YOUR DRUMS ARE ON THE PAD? Blacktrump Deuce - much love to ya!
That is probably a HR16-B... Same engine, different sounds! Alesis also had an Eprom chip avaialble that enabled you to midi the the HR16 & HR16-B together as 1 huge drum machine. I had them both, but thru a few moves, I can only find 1 right now... :-(
Although I could have sworn I've seen David playing 1 that appeared to be painted... ;-)
thats really impressive man... my buddy is a great drumer but doesnt own a kit so when we jammed he pulled out a drum machine on his iphone, hooked it up to a stereo and it sounded killer... i believe in the machines now
Hey David great playing! I am a guitar player and I had bought a Korg NanoPad to trigger loops with my Live rig, but this inspired me to start learning to play drums on it. Thanks for your art.
hi brother, I´m a drummer too and I want to congratulate you because of your talent whether on the drum machine or in acoustic drums. Very nice work!.
Do you know any software to create sound modules (like garageband on a mac) in a no mac computer ?.See you and thanks.
Very nice groove..ure awesome. I wonder if there is a special reason that you play on a HR16B? Is it easier to have the pads i two rows than e.g 4 by 4? or is it just that you got used to the HR16B..?
I have an Alesis HR 16 sitting on the desk in front of me. I got pretty good playing it live when I only had a 4-track, before I got midi gear in the early 90's.
But NO where near as a good as Fingers plays his! :D

I have never seen a HR-16 used like that before.
Taking the sequencer out of the equeation makes it sound alot more like a real drum set.
Great stuff

What are you using for a midi interface and sound module?
There is virtually no latency.
Wow.

That's a great groove, through your part all the way up.
If you wouldn't mind: How much acceleration sensitivity do those little keys have? Can you get much dynamic range?

These videos are fucking inspirational. You're an amazing musician.
I'd love to see a video where the camera was MUCH closer to your hands, so we could really see those "fingers" in action.
Also (I'm sure this has been asked and answered before), what kind of drum machine is that?
