i got the fw series. i love it. but since it runs that ATI radeon graphics and that big screen, its not so great on bat life. (2-3 hours). however, its a great, sexy laptop. PS. price sux (1.1k) lol
Just finally got it yesterday. Sorry if this response would of taken to long to get to you. But the bonus of one day having it lets me tell you a little more about it. Ok here it goes. Extremely sleek, elegant, quiet, and plays just about anything except processing intensive games and apps (crysis, maya, some other crazy stuff.) I would definatly recomend this laptop to anyone especially for the price. However it does have a few downsides. Battery life, lots of bloatware in first use.
I do still recommend this product. Its awesome. Although asus and Hp could supposedly give you a better deal on performance for the dollar. This one is a lot better to have because of its smarter design. The HP notebooks especially are made of cheap flimsy materials in which i did not like. This one has the looks and ruggedness + portability. Only thing you might have to worry about now and then are smudges.
The power button is also a nice feature. I would recommend new egg if you'd want one.
My model of this series is the VGN-FW463J/T. I sacrificed the option of the blu-ray drive for a 2.53GHz processor instead of a weaker 2.10GHz that the other models had. I think this one also has slightly better specs to on the performance spectrum. I also didn't feel as if i needed blu-ray since i get most of my HD movies off of torrents (pirate bay, mininova, .etc). Before looking at this one i was considering a 13" macbook pro. But due to the high price, this one kicked it out the ballpark.
how does it perform now? wat OS r u using? wat size of ram u got as well as how big is ur hard drive? lastly how much did u pay for it?
the fw is one of my top choices to get in 2 months time. i would sacrifice the blu-ray drive as well, dont think that i will have the need for it.. thx for ur input in advance.
mine has 6gb ram

I think the power button is cheesy, geeky, and anoying. Who wants a bright green light glowing so big. There should be settings to turn that off.

I checked their website, and you can get it for $870 bucks with the same ATI GPU.
That price for a great CPU as well.
Freaken good price :)
Though, RAM runs on DDR2 :\
downside...
