Looks like they made some subtle improvements since I reloaded it cause it's *free. The game is very easy to figure out so you can read the manual but meh. It takes about 3 hours rougly to download the game from Steam, then setting it up, including patches. The game actually looks better than when was released.

So what's the catch? Additional content and costume pieces you pay for DLC (Downloadable Content). Do you really need it, at present nope. Enough to keep you busy when your bored.

Wow, how good was that trailer... It made the game look fun, dynamic and interactive... Three things it most certainly is not. I'd say the fact that they can make this Z list property appear fun is almost a great a challenge as making this game fun. Congrats trailer making team.

started playing the F2P version about a week ago and it's ok. i still prefer City of Heroes, but Champions Online will fill in my gaming gaps from here on out. i don't like how you have to buy certain things, including costume pieces, but they have to make some money somehow.

I can't play my characters because their all Gold, but my account status is silver.I tried to convert my characters to silver,but it always said Conversion failed.Is ther anything I can do to change my characters to silver?I think you have to cancel your subscription but I don't know how.Please Help!

@CyberMcRock You may have already figured this out by now, but no, you can't play as a villain, BUT, at level 25, you can make your own Arch Nemesis, complete with their own powers and minions. Sounds cool, no?

lol ik why most people hate architypes its because most of the architypes they want arent in thier like at firts i wanted the power armor or supernatrul archytypes but hey you cant have anything but did everybody hear about the new framework for gold and silver its a new power i cant wait

@BartonDH Dude you are so wrong! Archetypes means that if your char is fire based you have to stick with the fire powers. I wont be allowed to borrow powers from other power trees. How can you say archetypes sucks if the game was re-released yesterday... you had no time or chance to experiment the ft2 version.. Stop Trolling around you are not smart as you mom think you are.

Okay, to all the people, and I use that term loosely, as I'd like to be rather more acidic about it, who are talking about "doesn't let you do 'blank' like it did before, shut up. It let's you do EVERYTHING it let you do before, IF you're subscribing LIKE YOU WERE BEFORE. If you're not paying a dime, you don't get access to custom archetypes. Before, if you weren't paying a dime, you didn't get access TO THE GAME. Now you can play for free, even if it's not with everything subscribers get.

The Archetypes are pretty solid, all of the game content from beginning to max level is included in the FtP model except for a couple of, "Adventure Packs," that are not part of the leveling process.

Decide for yourself though, because there is literally no need to spend a dime to experience the full scope of the game. No zones to pay for and no level cap to buy up.

If you dont like it, no problem, youve got nothing to lose.

i dont know why people are bringing this game i just started playing it with munitions architype and its real fun and if your in a super group its even beter and its not a demo i can create however i want him to look like theres alot of pieces and you can unlock more the best part is its the only super hero mmo free so stop whining and play.:)

Hnf! You need to be really stupid to want to play with those ridiculkous archetypes! I prefer free-form superheroes. Why only Gold Members can play with them?

@Anoleis archetypes are great as the other free-form. Many of my toons are archetypes because I use only one power tree with them (as a gold member veteran since launch) So you do not know what are you talking about. Archetypes mean that you have to stick with your power theme cant make a fire / ice but you can make a total fire or total ice.

@IrllenQueiroz The problem is exactly tha ! I dont have any interest in heroes with powers based on fire or ice! I dont have any interest in being a Marksman, a Behemoth, a soldier or any other of those ridiculous archetypes! The only kind of super hero I have interest are "larger than life" super heroes, like DC Comic 's Superman or Wildstorm 's Mister Majestic!

"Free to Play" usualy implies that you get all the basic gameplay for free. This is just a demo because it doesnt let you create a character, which is half the game -_-

its funny i downloaded it then make a hero, then do the first quest starter quest to go to some quest vending mach. and the server gos down for maint. this is soo my luck lol

The free patch has been out for a while now and they made free accounts extremely limited. If you had a character with a custom archetype (like everyone else did), you lose it and get a shiny, new pre-made archetype and there are only 8. Power armor is absent from that list which really turned this game off for me because I made a character specifically for power armor.

TL;DR version: They completely removed any reason to play on a silver account due to the number of extreme limits.

My favorite thing about the game? The character creation; and the fact that the whole world is just like a 3D comic book (still with the black outline around it, I love it!)
