Honestly, it's sad to watch, but his Parkinson's Disease was still gonna catch up to him. At least he went out doing what he wanted to do.

I was just reading Walter Payton's biography, and he left the NFL 2 years earlier than he wanted to, because the people around him told him to retire. He regretted that decision for the rest of his life. He still ended up with cancer, but on top of that he left his passion 2 years early.

So I commend Ali for following his heart and thinking for himself.

You can blame Ali's trainers and doctors for letting Ali continuing to fight. But the fact is, they couldn't stop him if they wanted to. These guys loved him more than anyone on earth, and couldn't bare to walk away from him, as they knew he'd just fight anyway. Ali had nothing to prove.

Pacheco was a jerk towards Frazier. He was a tough fighter and deserves more respect. Ali did fight too long. Would have been nice to have had him around in the 80's and 90's and today. He was entertaining.

Pachecho seems like a very well spoken person here but in the Manilla doco he's a big jerk and calls Joe Frazier dumb. Joe Frazier didn't pretend to be a 'cotton picking' slave like Ali did, Frazier never went to a Ku Klux Klan rally. And Angelo Dundee says he still holds behind the head, illegally. Too bad he couldn't pay off the ref in Manilla to allow him to do that or in Zaire.

IN his famous interview with Parkinson's after he won the rumble in teh jungle, years before this Ali said, he had very few friends and all of them are associates. This just proves how right he was.
