It's unkown, the writers had intended to get around to explaining it in Season 2 but a lot of complications came up between seasons and the entire story had to be rewritten.  Sadly because of this a lot of things they had planned where either cut, never fully explained or just really rushed when they finally got around to them.

Just check out any site reporting Geass news, it was all over the place a year ago when Season 2 started airing. It was reported in magazines, mentioned by some of the creators etc.

It's true, they say it in interviews and stuff. but the entire 2nd season (in its final form) was already written (with story boards and all) before the first one started airing.

Still, I have my doubts that they actually had a backstory explaining Sukazu's crazy moves. It feels like the amazing feats Suzaku performs were just supposed to be assumed to be distinct possibilities in the anime world of Code Geass.
