@Gamma287 So you hate on me then? I'm newer then the 90s! WHy do you say you hate on everything newer then that like its something to be proud of??? No one likes a hater, hater.
@Petal0oza I agree with you as well, but I was referring to my self as "having an antiquated mindset," not the song. Cole Porter is one of, if not the absolute, the best Broadway composers to ever come out of the United States!
Vince Giordano and The Nighthawks [the band playing on this track !] can be heard every Monday and Tuesday evenings at Sofia’s Restaurant (downstairs / Club Cache) at 221 W. 46th St. between 8th Ave and Broadway, (ph 212-719-5799), adjacent to the Hotel Edison in Times Square NYC.
It's Cole Porter music! Cole is cool! Porter carries the tunes to put the dames in the mood. Cole Porter's music is good. Cole's lyrics are bold; Porter's music unfolds the legs of romance. It's the dance of love. Cole Porter's music flies on the wings of a dove. Cole Porter's music is the music of love.
I would not say our generation is ruined, i would never judge anybody by what type of music that person likes, but, this is definetly 1000000000 times better than any music produced in our generation.
Its a funny music tune although you can get it stuck in you head very easy trust me ive had it stuck in my head like 6 thousand times while playing fallout 3
someone needs to "Accidently" make hundreds of fallout vaults fill 'em with 40's & 50's stuff (music, clothes, posters, etc etc) and then nuke the world >__> ...life would be So much funner having to shoot Super mutants in the face with a sawed off shot gun :3
My parents are watching Indiana Jones, I start singing the exact words to the tune while doing dishes, they both turn around at the same time to meet my eyes and at the same time speak. " How do you know this song?!" When then I respond " I appreciate good music."
"It was on the radio when we were kids." says dad
"Yeah, It was one of my favorites!" says mom, proud of her son.
I say with a smile on my face "Oh, I also apprectiate good games too."
I'm really not a fan of this song despite the fact that it's the original. It was much better when put into the musical, which in itself still sucked. I am fan of older music and artists but it seems like the majority of singers during the 50's and before were not "singing" so much as talking in a "sing-song" voice. To me singing requires you to have a raw talent. This doesn't sound like anything special to me.
@MrMutsy That doesn't make it ruined. A lot of kids actually don't listen to this because they're parents like it, and don't want to be classified as 'un-cool'. After they grow out of their immaturity, if they like the music good. If they don't good. It's called an opinion.
@TopTenCrew If you feel that way, fuck off. Music diversity is what makes this world... interesting. Shitty opinions are all from a perspective. Different music allows different people to talk about their interests. I like metal, dubstep, classic, jazz, 80's rock, just about all kinds of music. I'm sorry you see so short sightedly.
@TopTenCrew calm down man people have their choices. because I for one like Dubstep and Classic Metal like metallica but I love these older songs more than both genres combined.
@CCCPancakes Well I've got to be honest.. He has a point, hardcore, hardstyle, dubstep etc are often entertaining tunes to listen to but you will never be able to call such songs 'classic'. Unlike songs as this one or for example songs from sinatra or dean martin. Saying that dubstep or any other genre 'is not music' is wrong in my opinion.. everyone should be entitled to their own taste in music.
ARGH FUCKING HELL GODDAMN EVERY TIME I GO ON SOMETHING OLD THERE'S ALWAYS SOME FUCKASS VOTEWHORING 19 YEAR OLD GOING "DURR DURR THERE IS NO DECENT MUSIC ANY MORE THUMBS UP IF YOU'RE AS IGNORANT AS ME!" FUCK. YES, I MAD.

Yeah bros. The nostalgia this game had was amazing. From the blinding amount of light you get straight out of the Vault, to the Ghouls you always feared in the darkness. What an amazing game.
Would love to go back in time and shake this mans hand. This song just brings back good memories of Fallout and just throughout my life. Not like this new music that sounds like ' I shot my best mate in the head, yeah, yeah, yeah, I say yeah when I can't think of any more lyrics, yeah'
@mojavecourier It's a cover! It's a whole different interpretation, and frankly, it's better when they don't copy the song exactly like it is. Glee wouldn't be what it is if they didn't make it their own.
OK, my sister watches Glee and she's watching it in the other room I just heard them doing a cover of this song. I decided to come here before the shit hits the fan so I can say this. Guys, I know Glee sucks, but a lot of us only know about this song from Fallout 3, so let's just leave the Glee fans be.
@abcdefh1992 are you kidding me??? I freaked out when it came on! the show is hilarious, no need to trash talk it, and as far as I'm concerned, a song like this getting popular attention can hardly ever be a bad thing. We found out about it from FO3, hopefully some more people now know about it thanks to glee.
@fenwayfanatic94 I happened to be eating dinner with my mom, and she's crazy about glee. I find the show too cheesy for me to watch, but I did enjoy their cover of the song... however, the original is better in my opinion... Alot calmer and much more pleasing to hear.
@peytongonavy Plymouth Rock was a fabricated event to increase interest in the subject. The first noted reference of Plymouth Rock was 121 years after they "landed" on it. Due to the sheer situational irony, this song is one of the most memorable in FO3. Almost everyone has a vivid memory of an especially intense, brutal battle while this song plays in the background. Personally, I'll always remember assaulting the trenches in front of the White House with a minigun blazing while this song played.
Most addicting game ever. I dont know if its the fact that the music is good, or you sit there staring at a tv while being hypnotized by it, but i love it either way.
U know whats sad, all the songs that fallout 3 has in GNR, the people r dead that made them. Like one is Bob crosby died in 1993 and the andrews sisters are dead execpt 1 of the sisters and Danny Kaye who is dead who helped them make the song civililazation and Allan Gray Is Dead, who made the song Swing Door, Cole Porter also died, he made the song anything goes, Billie Holiday Died to, He made the song Easy Living.Just saying the music today is crap Also they all died before the 95s.
Every time I hear a song that was on Fallout 3 I always remember sneaking around those Raider camps and beating them to death with my fists. Or blowing their heads off with my Xuanlong Assault Rifle. Sometimes throwing a grenade at them. Or taking out my switchblade to cut up the Ghouls... Good times... Good times...
My F3 isnt working ate the moment because os some "ati2dvag"if you can help please do I just want to play F3 again until then ill just listen to these songs :)
Damn, the memories with this game. So many good times exploring. So many times that this song would accompany me in the metro. Damn, I taking out all the Super Mutants with a hunting-rifle in the Hospital with this song playing. Good memories.
@ArmouredCommander i wish fallout new vegas had that same feel but it was different i dont know how to say it but it was not the same i know the music was not the same but it was different everything was different
@Bioshock7000 We all understand Russian culture being a good bit different from American culture, and a hyperbolic vice-versa of common concepts adds humor to the scenario, but seriously, be more original next time.
Anything Goes is a musical with music and lyrics by Cole Porter. The musical introduced such songs as "Anything Goes," "You're the Top," and "I Get a Kick Out of You." Since its 1934 debut the musical has been revived several times. It is a cassical piece of music and a wonderful song.
@lottavernix The version in the play is a bit different, some of the lyrics are changed or in a different order...but it's clearly just another version of the same song.
ahhhh sneakin round in my stealth suit and abe lincoln hat with paulsons revolver blasting away all the mother fuckers who i find.....good times.....gooood time
@mstorey622 well it might have to do with thr fact that the "singer" in this version is actually the composer?

Damn, the memories with this game. So many good times exploring. So many times that this song would accompany me in the metro. Damn, I taking out all the Super Mutants with a hunting-rifle in the Hospital with this song playing. Good memories.

@angrypedstrien555 I am fairly certain that this was written for the musical that goes with it, but I am young and ignorant I could be wrong...

@lottavernix well the play iscalled anything goes
angrypedstrien555 10 months ago
@lottavernix The version in the play is a bit different, some of the lyrics are changed or in a different order...but it's clearly just another version of the same song.
