depends on which one you get the one i am getting is the fender 2008 telecaster deluxe it has semore duncan pick ups in it its like 1.4k but still very great as for distortion it depends more on the petal and amp you have

I own one- its a lite ash body, maple neck American Deluxe Ash Tele with Samarium Cobalt noiseless pickups designed by Bill Lawrence. This guitar is nice, and sounds great, but the tone here does not allow for its personality to come through- this thing shines with clean & edgy tones, plus vintage overdrives- Mexican...not a chance

so true i got my tele deluxe and freaked out what a clean tone it haves. it made my Sqier's and my jackson's sound like crap. this guitar is great for hard Rock its a okay guitar for metal sounds good just kinda hard to palm mute.

Telecaster deluxe has two humbucking pickups

this is the light ass tele or something along that. it has a natural finish, but the tele deluxe is black with extended black pickguard w/ two widerange humbuckers

Its an am tele from the deluxe series, if right it has an press-in switch on top of the vollume pot to make the trhee way switch change in set-up.

It's a Mexican ash deluxe tele. And, I would say a good next purchase would be a Fender Blues Jr tube amp, and an overdrive pedal. If you want wood, MxR tube screamer, you probably need a Mxr Z.Wylde. It'll be chunky, but not this metal zone trough a solid state marshall combo 1x12 tone. Or, get an Ibanez &keep the rig.
