Anyone can type BS on these postings. How are we to know if someone is legit? Try this out for size: I played with the Dovels when they recorded this song. You believe that?
Chris Colombo wrote this song without the words. I danced on stage with him and Gil Askey.Club Harlem Kentucky Ave AC NJ. The Dovels gave him a fifth of whiskey for the song. Rip Chris
It really is a great tune and was in equally good company along with "Da Doo Ron Ron", "Foolish Little Girl", "If You Wanna Be Happy" and countless others I'm happy to recall from the wonderful spring of '63.
After hearing about a recent study, you literally can't sit down. The Dovells are prophets as they realized long ago that standing is healthier than sitting. Oh & the tune is pretty damn good too...

My thirteen year old daughter is learning that songs like this are rocknroll. This is the kind of pop that gets me moving.

Interesting note: The keyboard player is Phil Upchurch--who recorded THE ORIGINAL INSTRUMENTAL VERSION OF THIS VERY SONG!

@pbatommy Phil Upchurch is a guitarist but the Dovells did use the same keyboardist Phil did!
