I believe he's just using a Line 6 DL-4. It's more of a delay pedal that has a functionality of a loop pedal.

I always get thrown off by that bit, especially after listening to the album version...but it definitely isn't mimed. It actually isn't off beat as such, the loop just makes it sound like it is. I would have been put off if I was Matt haha...he just must trust that Kele knows what he's doing and will hit the loop at the right time. The drums aren't as complex as other Bloc songs and they don't sound mimed at all too, you can definitely hear the live aspect of this.

Yeah the loop station got fucked up..and the Mercy part was messed up like the whole time. But they still pulled it off well. Great song...all these old Bloc Party fans are dissing it.but the new album has some great material, including Mercury.

That's only cause he has more time to set up his settings on his pedals, obviously it must of taken him more time when recording to set his pedals up, but as for Russell he ain't going to start fiddling around on his pedal at a live event were everyone's waiting for there music.

in my opinion its great. its definitely not the usual bloc stuff we all love, but this is what music is all about - development. of course, they could have made more of the silent alarm songs. but its much more interesting to watch artists grow...

Maybe, just maybe, they should stop performing this song. It is not really working or coming across that well. They always strive for better and innovation, but dude don't force it with playing songs that feel forced live.
