  • Great to watch while high...

  • I keep watching this trying to see little unexplained blips that take off and land in the middle of nowhere. I saw an aircraft map that had some on it. They called them "computer errors", but I think we all know how much truth there is in that statement...

  • ehab will never make it as atc

Europe taking a piss on the US

  • Where is Europe ???? LOL

  • North America, Europe, and East Asia are Christmas lights.

  • This is one video, if any, that completely deserves to be watched.

  • At first I was like, "Go Europe!" But then I was like, "Holy shit, America".

  • Really need this in 1080p.

  • damn those are some big planes

  • Now imagine those are missiles and its WW3.

  • @ghoulsarepeopletoo Endoftheworld.swf FTW

  • This looks like a game of Pandemic.

  • This isn't really believable... the representation of certain areas of the world is totally not balanced

  • Looks like they are pissing on eachother

  • wow there so much flight going to hawaii from japan

  • To the coments about fast plane

This map is not an actual video of airplanes, it would be impossible to film them at this scale a dot being the size of New York. It is an animation created by someone using data from airline companies. There are a lot more flights in the wprld.

Also, since the earth is a sphere and this map is flat, planes in the north and south appears to go faster due to map distortion. A plane going over north pole would appear to be teleporting. This is why top dots go fast.

  • This makes total sense. At PHL most transatlantic flights from Europe come in between 12pm and 5pm and they depart to go back between 4pm and 10pm. It's interesting to see how planes taking off from PHL in the evening are welcomed in Europe with early sunrise. iPhone users, for the sun's footprint at anytime and location in the world download Travnar Lite for free. It's a travel app which offers a world Day/Night map as one of its tools.

  • yeah there are a lot of very quick airplanes. what are those? military?

  • look at 0:36 top left its insane that one yellow dot covers the planet very fast

  • 1:04 top right corner look at the 2 dots go really fast left

  • Fantastic!

  • Anyone else notice the insanely (and i seriously mean insanely) fast movers that crossed from the Northern Russia area to Greenland and back?

  • @neonskul

    military jets?

  • @neonskul That would be the effects of map distortion that we learned about in grade school.

  • how much is Milatary ?

  • 0:11 to 0:19 you can see all the Europe bound aircraft. Then from 0:35 to 0:45 all the North America bound aircraft leaving Europe. Amazing

  • WOW. Brazil is conquering Portugal by airplane

  • Airplane ants... crazy!

  • SAVE THE PLANET!!!! BAN ALL AIR TRAVEL NOW!!!!!

  • @BobbyW3363

r u joking? what a moron gpd would drop like 80 percent worldwide or sum shit..

  • @blazetek212 Who cares about the fucking GDP, we need to save Mother Earth!!!

Ahahahaaaaa..... just kidding. You know there are psychos out there that actually believe humans should suffer in poverty as a sort of sacrifice to their god, Mother Earth.

  • @BobbyW3363

    ;)

  • people visit africa??

  • @joeypellicone

    Dude, you are amazing! :D

  • @TheSliekaStyle Why - because he's a child playing off child humour to get laughs? You're not amazing, neither is he. Please leave the internet.

  • @matthmatthmatth

How do you know so much about him?

  • @TheSliekaStyle I state the obvious.

  • quanto vagalume!

  • funny, how some dots disappear :))

  • @nazikus

Most planes actually land you know.

  • Europe is about to explote.

  • Impresionante.

  • this video was uploaded when I turned 19 :D!

  • MIND= BLOWN

  • Watch the N.Atlantic - the surge of aircraft travelling from N.America east bound to Europe on evenings to arrive in Europe in the morning, then the bulk of traffic leaving Europe west bound starting at noon to arrive in N.America in the early evenings.

  • lucky for us pacman doesn't fly in the atmosphere

  • To think there are hundreds of folks eating and watching movies in each of these dots. Amazing.

  • Не удивляйтесь такой картине. В Европе в один только день происходит около 25 тыс. рейсов.

  • No wonder the worlds fucking up. Check out the awesome pollution.

  • talk about global warming damn how many planes is that

  • Holy sh.....

  • так вот почеу ледники откалываються :))))))

  • @karffiol a potom nech sa ľudia snažia obmedzovať emisie používaním úsporných žiariviek, separujú atď :) smutné

  • Planes burn too much fuel.

  • well, if you think, even if you see even a single other airplane mid-flight, that means there's probably many planes in the sky

  • airplanes are gay

  • @sephiriouszero you are gay!

  • Europe is verry crowded during the day :))

  • How many litres of AVGAS would that be???

    We are doomed! :))

  • Look at all the traffic to Greenland. Land of snow and ice.

  • Zürcher Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften produced it hence the ZHAW logo.

  • truly amazing. WOW. 5/5

  • You gotta wonder about those few around Antarctica... are they lost?

  • could you perhaps cite how this map was created, or who created it? i see that logo in the corner but cant make it out.

  • Its interesting how its slows to almost a stop over europe and the US but in china, the flow is pretty consistant.

  • haha everythings leads to rome

  • @mehigh2marsiansky

    Frankfurt ;)

  • its like the whole world is fucking Europe.

  • haha england is getting mobbed

  • scary like ants

  • LOL, I find it funny how Europe started with fewer flights, then there's a lot, and then it was back where it started.

  • @foonashi Yeah...and? You don't think it might have had something to do with the time of day? That little bell curve with light and dark areas is the Sun...

  • All large aircraft, so that includes the courier, military and large private jets as well?

  • Could all those with detailed knowledge of aviation please visit the absurdly numerous "chemtrail" videos and teach those gullible paranoid morons about aviation physics and reality.

    Thanks

  • I don't think this is very accurate... especially when the yellow dots are so scrambled in USA ... instead of staying in clusters around airports....

If you look at the surrounding of Denver you know it is extremely wrong

  • @roytchaikowsky : In the US, most airline traffic is NOT in clusters around airports.

We have more air traffic in the US than anyplace in the world. Of course it looks scrambled!

  • Comment removed

  • @flywithlloyd watch the one from NASA (search National Air traffic 24 hours)

There shouldn't be much stuff on the north side around montana idaho and wyoming

  • this is weird yet cool

  • Stumbled in from Kenya(Peace, Love and Unity)

  • Wow.

Check out Europe, USA & China! Imagine the difference to greenhouse emissions if the USA had a high-speed rail system - China is already investing HEAVILY.

  • The flight paths look cool.

How big are the dots used to represent every plane? They look a bit bigger than a plane to me... During the day it looks as though you would not see the sky for planes! Of course, you can see the sky because planes are not that big... so don't worry greenies, the world isn't ending and we don't need to pay an emergency tax on this issue - or give up any more of our freedom to you fascists with your stupid band wagon.

  • This is how we destroy our planet on a daily basis. All you stupid people who fly for no reason (because you're freaking lazy to travel by bus or car) should think twice before you buy an airplane ticket. This way we're gonna rip our ozone layer in less than a decade! This amount of flights per day is also wrecking our planet's ability to contain greenhouse gases in a normal level.

  • @arronaxtrance Wouldn't taking a 50 minute fight with 300 other people rather than driving 300 cars for 4 hours (assuming no traffic) be more fuel efficient?

  • @sidbrown210 No it wouldn't ... here is a simple calculation.

According to British Airways, a 747-400 plane cruises at 576 mph (927

km/h), burns 12,788 liters (3378 US gallons) of fuel per hour, and

    carries 409 passengers... SO:

    Aircraft speed = 927 km/h, so 1h of cruising = 927 km of distance

Car speed (on highway) = 100 km/h, so 1h of travelling by car = 100 km of distance

    (continue to next reply)

  • @sidbrown210

According to the previous data, the calculation goes like this :

    FUEL CONSUMPTION:

    1 airplane = 12 788 liters/hour

1 car = 10 liters/hour (average between EU and US cars)

409 passengers fits in 102 cars.

    102 cars * 10 liters = 10 200 liters.

And just imagine how much would we spare if we all travelled by train.

  • @arronaxtrance

I made a mistake in the post about FUEL CONSUMPTION, I added one more zero to the calculation of car's fuel consumption. It should go like this: 102 cars * 10 liters = 1020 liters, not 10 200 as I wrote in the original post ;) That's why you may think that cars are more consuming that an airplane over long distances.

  • @arronaxtrance ... Except 409 passengers are more likely to travel by 400, 300 or maybe, just maybe 200 cars at best. The majority of cars on interstate freeways are single or dual occupant, not 4-5 passengers each. Either that or we take them all to one station where they can be forced to share a vehicle, but that's called a bus.

  • @sidbrown210

Now I know that the distance is not the same, comparing 900 km with 100 km, but compare the fuel which is used by aircraft with the fuel used by cars. The fuel in aircrafts is way richer and more polluting than the lead-free fuel or even bio-fuel and other alternative fuels used by modern cars. Also, you should take many other factors in consideration.

  • @sidbrown210 And one more thing, it's not the same when an airplane flies over a distance of 300 kilometers and 900 (or more) kilometers. I know that the air traffic is essential over oceans and seas, but when it comes to shor travel, cars and buses are way more efficient.

  • Note: all the flights with horrible customer service are highlighted in yellow.

  • @unclestrug LOL!

  • @unclestrug would you rather fly? idiot...

  • @unclestrug : if you want to know why you get crappy service, read "around the world in a bad mood" from rene foss... the adventures of a flight attendant working for a horrible airline, and annoying passengers :-)

  • @mandalina08 you guys talk about 'poor services', you should come to brazil and check what is a bad service, very expensive tickets and a customers service....
