I remember reserving this game at a place called the Electronics Boutique back in the early nineties. It was originally going to be called Final Fantasy Saga when I first reserved it, but then the name was changed to FF Legend lll. I never knew there was a game called SaGa. Interesting.

since I beaten this game in the Japanese version when I was a child.

I'm not sure it's a magic spell or it's usable item.

Only one thing I can remember is that item

can be gained in some place in the last part of the game.

When used , a huge blast will appear and deals about 1900+ damage

I always found this to be one of my favorite final boss battles in any of the FF series because how often do have a party of 5 AND an air ship/plane attacking the final boss? Hell when was the last FF game you could have a 5 party team?

ohh this boss couldnt look less of a threat. but the music rules xxx not as much as dion's theme. but it is still kick arse xxxx and the idea of letting the talon attack was brilliant. this is my number one favorite game. topping even final fantasy 7

Agreed about the music. Dion's theme is incredible. I'd leave my gameboy on when it was playing just so I could listen to it. Heck. I left one of the save files right next to a point where I could hear it as much as I wanted.

This is the hardest or second hardest boss I can actually beat. The other one I have in mind is Gruntilda from Banjo Kazooie. Ghaleon and Zophar from Lunar though is something I can't beat... and I already got that far into the game! The last bosses are the only things I can't take... I can actually last for a pretty long time against Ghaleon.

This is nostalgic. I was disappointed that the final boss wasn't harder: get hit and heal much like any other enemy. On the other hand, it may have been too hard if it required learning what those combinable spells did.

On an unrelated note, I never figured out why Talon's equipment was always prefixed with U. Anyone have a guess/explanaition?

There is a way to beat him in half the time. While he is still sol, use the magic that powers up your levels during battle and then you will take more hp out of him. My brother taught me that trick.

The monster encounter rate in this game is intense, they're all over the place. It's not too hard to get a high level in this game if you put the time and effort into getting it.

intense. I think that by the time I got to this part in the game all my party (except Borgin) only had like about 450 hp in human/mutant form. They were no match against Xagor as humans. :( Seriously this boss looks like some sort of moldy food left out for too long!

The "Talon" is the giant airship you get fly. Later on in the game when you get it, you can buy weapons for it and it helps you out in battle.

Actually. You just find the u-weapons for it. Like Cannon, Missile, Laser?, whatever. E-ray's the final one. U stands for unit (parts for your ship).

That's due to the fact that Sol is holding Xagor's soul in his body. Sol wants you to destroy him and Xagor at the same time, thus the sad battle music.
